American Pool Techs

I am buying a home and the pool needed repair. The seller contacted American Pool Techs. They did an estimate on the repair and when it got close to closing the bank and I began to question when the repairs were to be completed. The seller was under the impression the repair was going to cost $5200 and had a contract, but wasn't sure when it would be completed. After further conversations we were informed it could take up to 30 days. I called American Pool Techs to request they write a letter of intent. That way we could show the bank the repairs were underway and try to close without their completion. Buying them more time and getting my deal completed and that's when everything went crazy. The owner of this company accused the seller of lieing on him, accused me of writing reviews on Facebook (which I hadn't) he also said the pool was ruined and I should get the pool filled in or look for a new house, because the repair was going to be upwards of $12000.00, which is not what he told the seller. What appears to have been a minor miscommunication between the company and the seller was blown up into a huge ordeal filled with accusations, paranoia and threats of legal actions against me for these supposed reviews I never wrote. From what I have heard this company does good work, but the owner cannot keep his cool. You do not accuse customers, you do not threaten potential customers, and you do not act this way in general. I mean things happen, but I can't help but assume the owner of American Pool Techs was lieing to me. Who would want to cost a customer a $200,000 home deal? This was extremely unprofessional. I am including a text from the owner in the pictures. Also you should never threaten a customer with legal action for writing a review. While I hadn't written one at that point I am writing one now. This is a horrid way to conduct business. Again from what I have been told they do good work, but good luck if there is an issue. Looking at the text from the owner you would assume one of us accused him of something crazy, but this is over me asking for a letter of intent. You should never make someone feel scared of sharing their experience with your company. I sincerely hope the owner improves from this experience. Good work only goes so far, you also need to care for your customer. We had a different company come out and inspect the pool. There was not $12,000.00 worth of repairs that needed to be done and the pool is currently in working order. The quote from the other company was thousands of dollars less too.

I contacted American Pool Tech early on Thursday morning. Jonas called me back within an hour, clarified the issues over the phone and stopped by to assess the situation within three hours (very fast response time). Joel come over in the afternoon to begin the repairs while Jonas' kept me up to date on the situation with proactive communication, transparency to the problems and options to consider. In the end, they were able to replace the pool pump and waterfall pump cover to resolve both issues and get my pool system back in working order on very short notice. The next day the temperatures were in the teens and we had two inches of snow on the ground. I can only imagine what situation I would be in today had Jonas and Joel not been as responsive as they were - they saved my pool pipes and equipment from a major disaster. From a customer perspective, I can't say enough about what a great customer experience I had with American Pool Tech. I highly recommend them to anyone and will use them going forward for all pool and spa services that my pool requires.

They were very prompt, professional and accommodating to our schedule.

They returned my initial call right away and went to look at the pool that same day. They were knowledgeable about the equipment and knew exactly how to correct all the problems we had and did it in a timely manner. Their payment plan is also reasonable and spread out over a years time.

We have used American Pool Techs since 2007. He handles anything that goes wrong with our pool that we feel is out of our hands. He opens and closes the pool for the year, fixes the pool vacuum, fixes problems with the salt regeneration system, and fixes any problems with our filtration system. He handles all that type of stuff for us. This year he has replaced LED pool lights and fixed the wheel on the pool vacuum cleaner. His prices are very reasonable. I am very pleased with him. If he is running behind he will call and let us know ahead of time. They clean up after themselves, I have never come home to a mess. He's a great guy and he knows what he is doing.
