Less than a year ago I had work done. They replaced all the outside water hydrant system. They were told to use the best supplies and not spare any cost to do it the best. Like their own. And they did with the exception of the post they drove to support above ground hydrant system. I was expecting a T-post, but they installed a flimsy piece of thin metal to the 2 foot out of ground pipe for hydrant, which is 10 times it's size. Not impressed. They were called about it and said they would go look at it and never responded again. Why would they? They had been paid. Now less than a year later it's leaking again. I hired another company, because they wouldn't return my calls when I called them first. They find the fittings to the old pvc into the new flex plumbing in the bottom leaking. New company hired confirmed materials used were all good quality stuff, but there best guess was Buck's installed too tight. So the best materials doesn't always to the best job; if you don't have someone that knows and has the experience of what they are doing. Just saying the labor price may be more with an experience business, but in the end it could be worth hiring someone who knows what they are doing. I regret hiring Buck's the first time. The lady on the phone isn't the nicest person to deal with either. Not hateful, but lacks understanding and care.

Buck's plumbing work was most professional. My warrany company allowed me to use them, Buck's worked a very difficult in wall between floors pipe leaking issue to my total satisfaction. They made several contacts to the warranty company to ensure that my work was covered and helped me receive coverage from company. I will use them again because they care for their customer relationship and quality of work.

I’m a senior, which means I’m on a fixed income and wasn’t born yesterday; I know good work when I see it. I’ve lived and worked in this area for thirty-two (32) years. I never had any septic problems until three (3) years ago and I’ve used Bucks for all my septic issues (I watched my neighbors complications with all the other septic companies). They have performed regular services, emergency services, installed a two (2) foot Riser for me, as well as a major tank repair job that I’ll tell you more about in a moment. They have come in the dark, in the rain, in the cold, and when it was dark, raining and cold. In all of those circumstances, everyone was always pleasant and professional. The latest work that Shane and his crew did for me, was the major tank repair that I previously mentioned. Because I have a half-bath below ground level, my septic tank is buried three (3) feet below the ground’s surface and that is just down to the top of the tank’s lid! Anyway, the original sealer that was used to enclose the hole around the inlet pipe had disintegrated. Every time it would rain, water would pour into my tank causing it to fill rapidly and back the line up so that I could not use any inside water. Shane and his crew dug a trench approximately three (3) feet wide and seven (7) feet deep in order to clear the dirt and mud away from the inlet hole. They also had to remove about two (2) feet of standing ground water. Once that had been done, it was discovered that the inlet pipe had been bent in such a way as that it was climbing uphill before entering the tank. This was probably due to the soil between the house and the tank, becoming excessively heavy with rain water and then bearing down on the inlet pipe. Also, a small section of the tank’s lip had disintegrated and was allowing water to flow into the tank from above. A larger hole had to be dug to discover how much of the inlet pipe needed to be replaced in order to have a downward slope on the inlet pipe from the house to the tank. This hole was approximately eight (8) feet in circumference and seven (7) feet deep. Next, the inlet hole had to be patched up to seal where the inlet pipe entered the tank and fresh concrete had to be placed where the tank’s lid had disintegrated. Keep in mind, replacing the tank wasn’t an option due to the underground water. Besides, tank replacement would have been far more expensive and with the spring rains coming every few days, there was no way of knowing if the ground would ever dry up enough to install a new tank! In the end, I was extremely pleased with the way Buck’s repaired my tank. Their prompt, courteous and professional service, as well as the very reasonable price for the dirty, nasty and hard work they do, is a very welcome sight! I am fully persuaded that no more rain water will enter my tank, at least not where Buck’s worked on it for me. Lol. I will definitely use Buck’s again and you should too!

Some people just cannot be pleased is my take from this. Buck's was professional from the get go - they were great on the phone - they sent someone over to find the tank (we had no idea where it was) - it is in a difficult location due to fence and trees but they brought the backhoe and got the job done quickly, efficiently and professionally. The tank was full! They came into the house to check the odor issues, fixed a small leak in the laundry room drain (wore booties over their shoes even!) We had them quote a gas piping job while they were here and we were so happy to hire them for that too! We could not be happier with Buck's. Any communication was clear, the job got done and they "schooled us" on maintenance of our tank (since this is our first time not being on city sewer). We had a mess on our hands with gas lines - they needed to be removed and redone, Buck's took out the old mess and reinstalled them properly, they also hooked up our new stove, grill and fire pit. Wore Booties over their shoes while in the house, were polite and respectful, attention to detail, patient with me while I changed my mind about location, eager to please. What a pleasure to deal with a local, family run business, From Jamie in the office who checked in with me and answered my questions to her brother Shane and their employees, I can only say it was like having family who really cares, do the job right and the way I want it. I wholeheartedly recommend Buck's - They are my choice for Septic or plumbing. I am grateful I "took the chance".

Bucks did work on the home I am renting, so I never saw the bill. There
was a leak in the kitchen faucet, which was filling up the bucket
underneath. He came, looked at it, couldn't figure out what was wrong,
told me to call him if it happened again, and left. He was very
unprofessional, late, hard to contact, and left a mess. He ended up
coming back (of course) and changing the faucet, which also leaked, and
had to come back several more times to get the job done right. I felt
bad for my landlord to have to keep paying for his poor service. The
plumber that Buck's sent the final time was very considerate and polite, and ended up fixing a toilet that he noticed was running.
He still left a mess. The work was finally completed to our satisfaction, but it took three months and four visits to get it right. Not at all impressed.

"The faucet that the "tenant" bought was a cheap faucet. I told the landlord that the faucet wasn't that great of a faucet, but was told to install it anyways. Needless to say, it leaked. The cost to change the faucet the first time was $75.00. Like I told both the tenant and landlord, the faucet leaked. Yes, it took me a few trips to figure out where it was leaking, but found out that it was just a bad faucet. We finally installed a good faucet and now the problem is fixed. The price to change faucet the second time, was a total of &00.00. In another trip, we replace the lavatory faucet and a leak under the kitchen sink. The kitchen leak was from the water line coming out of the wall which is a total different problem. The labor charge of this job was $65.00. I usually charge more to change faucet, but with the problems they have had, I dropped my price. I have worked for her landlord for years and continue to work for her to this day. The landlord understands that things happen and knows that we are a great company and great people to work with. I thought I cleaned my mess up, as I always do, but this time around, I guess I didn't. I really don't remember. The problem with getting in touch with me was not total my fault. I tried to get in touch with the tenant a few different times. I even went to her house twice and no one was home. We finally got a time together and got the problem fixed. I do my best to make sure every customer is happy before I leave. I thought she was. I just wish that people would talk to me about things that go wrong. I run a large company and things do get overlooked. I can't be there for every job and don't know what goes on there when I'm not there. Thank you to everyone that makes us what we are today. We are the #1 plumbing company around and I will make sure we stay that way. Shane Buck"

After the great experience we had with Buck's when we had a septic tank emergency, we knew who to call to install a water heater. The response time with Buck's is outstanding. I called Monday morning and they were there right away. By lunchtime, the job was complete and I was a happy customer. Their employees are competent, diligent, and thorough. They know what they're doing, they do it well, and they don't waste time. On top of that, they're polite and friendly. Unlike some other companies, I'm not the least bit uncomfortable having Buck's employees in my home and around my children. We won't be using anyone but Buck's for our plumbing needs in the future. Thanks!

We called Buck's when our septic system backed up and couldn't be more pleased with the service we received from them. From the initial phone call to the time the truck drove away, the entire process took only a few hours. Not only were they quick and thorough, but everyone I spoke with was extremely helpful and friendly. It's refreshing to call with a problem and find out it's not even half as bad as I'd imagined. No extra charges/costs, no delay for parts/services. It seems most people are quick to complain when something goes wrong but won't take a minute to say thank you when a job is done well. We received exemplary service from Buck's and will enthusiastically recommend them to others when the opportunity arises.

They are great and I absolutely love them. They are awesome and very friendly. The first time it happened, it clogged up so much because it runs directly to the sewer of the street line. They came out on a Sunday night. My land lord takes years to get anything done unless it is an emergency. They told me to call the landlord and tell him that, I am calling the plumbers to come out because there is an issue. I can go head and get it done first. They said they will talk to the land lord afterwards and will send him the bill. There was a snow storm that came through and I guess that froze up the line. I couldn’t flush the toilet for 2 days. When they checked the line, it was fine but I guess it froze. The first time they came out immediately. The second time they went out 4 blocks away and missed our street. They called the next day and asked how things were going. I told them that, they haven’t come through yet. Then they came back that day and did my stuff without any question, without fussing. Usually people like that have a bad attitude because they made the mistake. They are the best company I found and I would use them again in the future.

The work has been reinspected by two licensed contractors, one of whom described the installation of the field drain as a "Stupid" way to install the drain, and the other who said the work was done by an "idiot". When Bucks left initially they waited to leave the job site when I had to leave to handle a family emergency and left the fill dirt in a big hump that could never have been mown over. The price they charged was way out of line for the work we learned after talking to the other two contractors who told us they "saw us coming" and took advantage of us.
Advice--Don't use this company unless you are prepared for shoddy work that has to be redone within a month.

"I apologize for not making this lady happy. When I showed up the first visit, I inspected the project and gave here a round about price. Before I left, I even went out of my way to cut a lock off a gate that her brother put on there to keep her out. At the time, she was very happy even went as far as telling my dad, the backhoe operator, that she was very happy that I would do that for her that most people wouldn't. But that is another story, Before I get to far into this, I will break down her bill: Cleaning here tank - $185.00. Backhoe - $225.00. Parts - 30.00 (this included parts to fix here outside faucet.) Labor - $90.00. Total of bill - $530.00. Sometime in the past, someone busted a hole in the top of her tank for cleaning. It is a old tank and lid and very brittle. That is why we didn't get out backhoe on top of it to pack the soil, afraid it will collapse and if that happened, guess who would have to pay for it. We did come back and rack it down once and told her when come back to fix the problem, that we would finish racking it down. I will agree that it was not the best way to install the pipe, but the easiest and cheapest for her. And as far as waiting till she left, we left before she did. When she called me back because it was overflowing, I probed her field lines and when my probe came out of the ground, water was shooting up about 4" telling me that the field lines where full. Granted, it was wet and rainy but to me, it seemed that the field lines where full and couldn't take anymore meaning that she needed field line work. I told her that I would get the environmentalist out there to check it out. I told him that the tank was old and that is why we didn't pack the soil down. I did tell him how we installed it. When she dumps 50 gallon was water in the tank all at once from the RV, it overflowed. If the tank and line where working like it was suppose to, that would happen. I guarantee my work and would have fixed it if putting the pipe in the tank was the problem at no charge. Included it the $90.00 was to fix a outside faucet. Our basic service call is $70.00 on that side of town so really, I just charge her $20.00 to install the pipe if you want to look at it that way. I understand that I can't make everyone happy and that I do make mistakes. That is part of being in business. What was ever done, I don't know but even the environmentalist said to replace the tight line ( the line coming from the tank to the field line) and add some more line and recommended that she replace her tank or lids. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience and I do guarantee my work. Thanks again for making this company last in this area for more than 52 years."

He came out and gave us an estimate. A few days later before we had called him back he called us and told us he was in the area and would be able to come help us that day if we wanted. We accepted and had him come out. I gave them a drawing and showed them where the lines and tank are in the yard, but they started poking around looking for them nowhere near their actual location. When the backhoe got here he started digging and cut right into a line even though I had told them exactly where everything was. He also dug 2 holes nowhere near the tank or the lines. Eventually they got through to the tank and the pumper truck broke down. We waited a week for it to get fixed before calling Buck and telling him he needed to send someone out to pump the tank. Another guy came out and when my husband tried to pay him, he told us that Buck would be billing us. My husband refused to pay Buck for work that he did not do, but we ultimately gave him $400 just to get him out of our hair. We had the other guy fix everything for us and he was great.

"Our company bought out another company in May of 2011. Unfortunately, this customers called us at the time where we were trying to get all the bugs out of our trucks. Since then, we have invested over $13,000 in our trucks to not only insure ourselves, but others that we wouldn't leave them hanging like we did this lady. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience that we may have caused. When we were digging in her front yard, we were trying to find her field lines to see if it was just a cross over broke down or if she needed more lines. If it was a cross over, it would have saved her money. I figure whether that was the problem or not, it was worth digging to see. When she gave us the diagram, we did find the tank right away as well as the field lines. Sewer was coming out of the first line but not the second. It seemed to me that the cross over was broke down from the first line to the second. In the process of digging, we did hit the line but we didn't charge her for the repair since it was our fault. Leach lines are buried at different grades so it is hard to determine were each one is. Come to find out, all the lines were full meaning that she needed more leach lines installed. On this particular job, I put $55.00 in my pocket. I hired another company to clean her tank since ours was still in the shop. I paid them $185.00 for their service and I only charged this lady $175.00. I ate that money because of all the problems she incurred and I figured we would be the one to fix it. We have been in business for over 52 years and we try our hardest to do our very best and to make everyone happy. Sometimes that doesn't happen but at least I can lay my head down at night knowing that I tried. Thank you Upper Cumberland for making Buck's Plumbing the #1 plumbing company for so many years."
