They were on time, and the sales pitch was great. They hooked up 7 air movers and a dehumidifier and said they would be back the next day. They came the next day and moved the air movers and removed trim to get the drywall to dry. Several more days of moving the air movers and then deemed that everything was dry. After everything was packed up I went to start moving furniture back in place and found the carpet was wet from the pad that did not fully dry. Then found that a bookcase was not moved and carpet and pad were completely saturated. Then I had a small half door to a storage area that was not opened and the carpet and pad under it was wet. The door had soaked up water and it was buckled. I had to pry the door open. Called them back and they sent someone back out to check. He said that they would need to pull the pad because it would not dry. They pulled the pad and ran the air movers more. Couple days later the carpet was dry. I asked what the process was to get the repairs done and they said they would need to send out the estimator. Another person came out measure again and said he would send the estimate to my insurance company and get me in touch with their contractor for the repairs. Insurance contacts me and says that they will be sending out the payment. I receive the payment of $1400. It broke down to $1200 for the rental of the air movers and a dehumidifier and $1200 for repairs less $1000 deductible. Within days of me receiving the payment, ServPro starts calling wanting payment for the work that was “complete.” They state that their repair contractor is real busy and he will call me soon, but they need payment for the air movers, and dehumidifier rental. I go ahead and pay. 2 Weeks pass and I still have not heard from the contractor. I call back and they say he is still busy but he will call back. 3 weeks pass and still no call. I call again and ask to speak to the repair contractor and they say he is not in. I tell them my name and they put me on hold. Then magically the person in charge of repairs picks up the phone. He tells me they are real busy and they won’t be able to get to me for 3 months. My opinion is that they got their money for the rentals and were done with me. Terrible experience and I will never use or recommend this company again.
Description of Work: Basement flooded and our insurance recommended I call them.

At no cost, the technician (Project Manager Tanner Helmick) conducted moisture testing of all the effected areas. A dishonest firm could have painted a bleak picture to profit from an insurance claim, but we were informed that the "damage" on a 1-to-10 scale rated a 1 to 1.5. Tanner advised us to buy some space heaters to run hot air along the walls for a day or two to help wick moisture out of the drywall and insulation. He went on to say that if his company took the job, they would have to overcharge just to break even. It is refreshing to find someone so honest and genuinely concerned more about our welfare than "making a buck". Anytime in the future that I am concerned about water damage to my home, I'm going to call ServPro.
Description of Work: During a severe thunderstorm, wind-driven rain leaked through window installations into the surrounding walls and into the carpet. Called ServPro out to assess the extent of the water damage.
