Great Was early & explained everything & did exactly what they said they would do

Provider confirmed telephone appointment by email. Technicians called in advance and confirmed they could arrive early if desired. Two technicians arrived on time came to the front door and introduced themselves. I acquainted them to the location of the stairs to the attic and location of central vent/filter. The work was completed efficiently and cleanup of debris was thorough. I would highly recommend Mr B's to anyone.

I saw their commercial on TV and decided to give them a call. A sales guy came out and went into the attic with me and told me they would clean out the main A/C duct line plus all the small duct lines that went to each room. Even spray in a disinfectant to help it smell good, all for $600. I agreed, and a few days later two guys showed up, supposedly the two best guys Mr. B?s had. We went up into the attic and one of them cut a good sized hole in the duct pipe and looked inside and said, ?It doesn?t even need cleaning.? I looked and saw quite a bit of dust clinging to the inside of the duct, but mostly in the bottom. It looked like someone had taken a dirt clod and threw it down the length of the pipe. The men said that it wasn?t bad at all and they?d seen a lot worse. I said I really wanted it cleaned thoroughly and to go ahead. They started making comments about how me paying $600 dollars for a couple of hours of work was ridiculous and that I was getting the brass broom handle up my butt on this deal. They said it wouldn?t even be a two hour job for what little they would have to do for my me. So I asked how much he thought I should pay, like $250 or something maybe. He said, ?NO, but not $600.? Both of them were laughing and poking fun about it. So as they are working, I ask about the company they work for, the owner, and so on. I ask if they made pretty good money doing this kind of work and the guy that had been with them for 10 years said that they get paid by the job, so the more jobs they do, the more money they make. Now keep in mind that it is Friday about 1:00pm. They said they had one more job in Lebanon to do, which is about 45 minute drive from my house, and would be off for the weekend. I wonder why they said my ducts didn?t need cleaning? At one point, I saw one of the guys with a cordless drill and a long cable attached with a bunch of blue bristles on the end. Looked like somebody grabbed a bunch of bristles off that thing at the car wash that spins around to wash your car and wired the mangled up bunch of bristles to the end of the thing. I asked him what it was for and he said to run up thru the duct work and spin it with the cordless drill and loosen up the dust and dirt while the suction vacuum machine sucks all of it out. I asked how long it was because it looked a little short. He said twenty feet. I thought about it for a few seconds and asked him if it would reach all the way to the end of my duct. He reassured me that it would. Funny thing is that my main duct pipes are just over 30 foot long in each direction from the furnace. So later on they were finishing up cleaning out the main large duct and were packing up their equipment. I asked if they were going to clean out all the small duct lines going to each room of the house. They said no, that they didn?t even need cleaning. I wrote them a check and they left. I thought about it for a few minutes and then called the sales guy that came out and asked him what these guys were supposed to do. He says ?clean your ducts I thought.? So I told him what was actually done and he said he would call the two guys and talk to them. One of the guys called me back about an hour later after they left me house, while he was picking up his kid from school, and said they would be back out and clean the smaller ducts but it would be a few days. I?m wondering what happened to the other job in Lebanon they still were supposed to do. They did come back and do the rest of the job, but before they started, they showed me that they had put a brand new filter in top of their vacuum unit, as if to show me this to prove that when they were through, the filter wouldn?t even be dirty and that the ducts really didn?t need cleaning, like they had said. When they were finished, they were hurrying to pack up their equipment and I asked to see the filter again. Their response was that they had to hurry to their next job and didn?t have time, so I said I?d just look for a second and I unlatched the top of the vacuum unit myself to find a brand new filter that was just filthy with dust and trash form the small ducts they had cleaned. Kind of an awkward moment I guess. From the beginning the salesman told me that after the ducts were cleaned, that there were going to spray in a disinfectant in there of some sort, to help it smell better. That was never done. When they left, for the next few weeks the air coming from my ducts just wreaked about ten times worse than it did before they were cleaned. I talked to a couple of HVAC company guys and they told me what happened is that when the blue brush thing swirled around in my ducts, it rubbed and smeared the dust and dirt into cooking grease and/or smoke residue from the previous owners who smoked, and it stuck there, pretty much stirring it up and made the smell stronger. And they said that if the company who cleaned the ducts had sprayed the ducts afterward with what they said they were going to, probably called an encapsulant solution, that it would have sealed that dirt and dust and the smell within it which would have taken care of the worsening smell. But instead of having these idiots out again to half-a** do something again, I just replaced all of the duct work and the problem was solved. But the $600 I paid for duct cleaning was a waste. So I guess that if I hadn?t been there when they did their work, or went up in the attic with them, who knows what they really would have actually cleaned or done at all. I think they might be getting paid by the job all right, one half-a** job after another. I?m thinking about the housewife who might not know anything about A/C ducts letting these guys clean them while she cooks or does house work. Or the man and wife who let these guys clean their ducts while they are at work at their jobs during the day. These guys left all alone to clean someone?s ducts unsupervised is hard to think about. Especially since they get paid by the job. The more jobs they do in a day, the more money they make. And the quickest way to do a job is to rush through it and do it half a**. Like my ducts were done. And then there is the health risk as well from breathing the air after a bad cleaning job was done. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________ My Response To Company Response If you guys were surprised and concerned about my review, then why didn't the owner of the company respond to the review himself and more importantly, if you are concerned about your customers satisfaction, why didn't you contact me or ask me to contact you about this in your response? I told your sales guy or whatever you want to call the guy I was dealing with there at the time about all of this so it ain't my fault Mr. Barley didn't know about it. He had to have your sorry a** employees come back a second time to finish the job and it still wasn't finished after they left that time either. So, since you didn't try to contact me or ask me to contact you in your response, keep being surprised and concerned. You got my $600 didn't you? Isn't that all that matters? And that $600 and crap work bought you a bad review here and other places as well.

The techs were great! They were careful when bringing in their equipment and wore booties on shoes. They were very friendly and here on time and got right to work. clean and professional. Took about 2- 2 1/2 hrs.

The guys who showed up to clean the vents were on time and did a great job. The forced air unit had a blocked drain, which had caused mold to grow in it. After they cleaned it and the ducts, the air in the house smells and feels noticeably better.

EXCELLENT! Two nice gentlemen arrived just when promised and went over the entire house to make sure of duct placements. Found a great deal of material in the ducts to be cleaned out from recent addition of added insulation. Former owners had animals that ruined certain ductwork that could not be successfully cleaned, which was replaced at a very nominal rate. Second home I have used them in, and could not be happier.

The schedule for the work was arranged on the first call, and the work crew arrived a couple of days later exactly as scheduled. The cleaning went well, with a ton of dirt being extracted from extremely dirty (perhaps never cleaned) ducts in the house we have just moved into. Fast, efficient, and thorough, they also cleaned the drying duct, which turned out to contain a bird next along with everything else. We were very pleased with the service.

The owner of the company was very easy to work with on scheduling the service appointment. The crew that came to my home cleaned all duct work and air conditioning unit. Both servicemen were very professional and courteous and showed up on time. I would definitely call on Mr. B's in the future and recommend them to anyone needing this service.

Very well - they got under the house, reattached the hose to the dryer and cleaned out a hose that is over 40 feet. I was amazed by the amount of lint that came out.

Everything went great! From my 1st email inquiry (06/05/13) to the day of service (06/11/13), all communication was prompt and detailed. Warren (Mr. B) provided my quote in writing, told me who would be coming to my home, made me feel comfortable with the process and sent me a confirmation email the day before the appoinment. His representatives Adam and James were great! They knew what they were doing and did it well! They called me to let me know they were running earlier than my scheduled time and wanted to make sure it was ok to come....of course it was! :-) They cleaned up after themselves, too. I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

Used Mr. B's based on a combination of Angieslist reviews and the recommendations of friends who have used them. Purchased a home and decided to have the faux wood blinds cleaned. Service was exactly what was advertised: Removed the blinds, left the house, cleaned them, returned to the house, and re-installed the blinds.

Could not have ask for a better experience. The men were polite, neat, and professional. Would definitely use their services again and recommend Mr. B's to others.

Robbie visited us to assess our situation and quickly found a way that all our ductwork could be fully cleaned without cutting out drywall as some other folks had indicated would be necessary. This was great news since my wife has severe allergies and we really needed a thorough cleaning. Robbie and his associate arrived on time on a Saturday morning. They worked very diligently for about three hours cleaning out the furnace/AC vent lines and returns. They showed us the material their HEPA filter captured-yipe! Our dust situation is much improved and I believe my wife's allergy symptoms aren better. Since we have two doghs it is unlikely anything can cure her symptoms completely. Robbie and his associate were friendly and professional. They did a fine job and I would recommend them and their company.

They were on-time and very professional. They got to work right away. I felt like the job was done well, and they did not leave anything out of place when they were done. At the end of the job, the manager told me that he didn't want to take advantage of a customer and he thought that the quoted price was too high (based on the work completed). He adjusted his price accordingly. I was very impressed! I wish I could have this company do other work around my house! :)

Scheduling the appointment was fast and easy. The two technicians who came to our home were prompt, polite, and respective of our home. They finished in less time than originally estimated. Overall, we are very pleased with the service and the price was comparable to other companies we contacted.

We selected Mr. B' based on reviews on Angie's List and the fact they did have a BBB designation. Mr. B's two employees arrived on time, worked non-stop til the job was done. Both guys were very courteous and thoughtful of our home and pets. I've already recommended them to friends.

Other contractors told me that Mr. B’s would charge me more, but he was totally in the range with the other two. Additionally, I like the way that he does things. The other companies wanted me to count vents and returns, but Mr. B’s just wanted to know square footage. I am going to use them soon.
