The price and quality of end result workmanship was good. We are happy with the fence, itself. Phil, the sales person/field manager initially came out to give us our estimate. Phil was polite, efficient, timely with his intial response and Maury's price was competitive. However, you will need to do your own homework about styles, options, etc, as they don't bring any brochures, don't offer much in the wasy of consultative selling. Phil did make a recommendation to choose the cedar wood instead of the pine as the cedar does "better in the TN heat"; which is what we chose. We would have rated this company much higher had they been more responsive wtih follow up/scheduling and more efficient about doing the actual work. I believe they would greatly improve their productivity if they had someone else handling the scheduling and had some sort of incentive for their laborers to get the jobs actually completed. We "accepted" their quote the beginning of June; I had our Association approval a couple weeks later, called and left a message for Phil indicating that we had the approval, to please contact me about getting us on the schedule. It took Phil two days to get back with me; when he did, he said they had gotten behind due to all the rain we'd been having so it would probably be about 3 weeks. He said we were in the queue and HE would call me in a couple weeks, to give me a better idea exactly when they would be out. We were told it would take 2 days to complete - one day to set the posts, the next to do the work. Three weeks later, we still had not heard from Phil; we called him. He said they were still behind, he was going to be on vacation, but that they should be able to get us in, in about a week. Two weeks later, and after a couple more calls, we were finally scheduled for the beginning of August. They came out one morning to set the posts - we fully understand that it takes one day to set the posts. However, it then took another full week and two more visits before the work was fully completed! I have a hunch that because our job was small, they kept squeezing us in between other jobs. On the day they were supposed to come "early" they didn't come until around noon, then, all they did was set the frame; the guys would work about 20-30 minutes and then proceeded to take a 20 minute break. Seeing this pattern my husband asked them when they expected to be done. He was told, "oh we're not going to able to get this one today, we'll have to come out tomorrow to finish"! We do not believe in taking advantage "of the hired help"; we make sure we provide cool water, etc. The weather, while it was still August, did not necessitate a 30 minute break for every 30 minutes of work! Keep in mind, the neighbor across the street had a full three sided fence done in two concurrent days flat! In summary, the price was competitive and the actual quality and workmanship is good; our fence looks great! But if you need to get the fence up and completed quickly, you may be frustrated ... you'll need to be prepared to be responsible for a lot of follow up and be the "squeaky wheel"!

Phillip quoted the job and showed us samples of the fence. He was very professional and showed up at the scheduled times. We called during a busy time of the year so we knew we needed to be flexible with installation but they worked us in between bigger jobs. We hired them because we saw their signs on several other fences in the neighborhood and the quality looked good. We did get 2 other quotes and Maury Fence was the best price of the 3. Their crew came out on the scheduled day and started the project. Note: Originally I was worried after the first day because the fence was not close enough to the ground to keep our small dog in. I called Phillip and he assured me that they don't hammer the fence down until they get done. This allows them to level the fence. The guys came back 2 days later as scheduled and finished the fence. I went ahead and sent full payment but did call Phillip about 2 areas we wanted changed which were not easy changes. These changes had to do with how the gates were installed and we needed them to be different. He kindly worked us back in the schedule and came out and fixed the fence per our request at no additional charge. That says a lot since we had already sent full payment and they still wanted to make us happy.

It was a very good experience. They were very professional and very good with cleanup. They were here when they were supposed to be and they finished when they were supposed to. We couldn't have asked for anything better from them. Their price was very good compared to couple of the other quotes we got.

The fence went up in a timely manner and the crew was very professional and did not leave a mess in the yard. I signed a contract to have the fence installed for $3,650, I received a bill for a little over $3,680. I paid the adjusted price and sent a not to the company asking why the did not honor the signed Quote. They cased my check but I never received an answer to my question. I know that it is only a little over $30 different but it really is the principal that I was charged more than quoted and they never responded to my question.

NEIGHBOR COMPLAINED AND GOT CITY CODES AND HOMEOWNER'S ASSOCIATION INVOLVED. HAD TO HAVE THE SIDE OF THE FENCE THAT EXTENDED ONTO THE NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY REMOVED AND RESET.

We were pleased with the work and the materials used. It was not an easy job because two old fences had to be taken down. They worked hard and showed up when they said they would.

They were excellent and did fast installation. The price was great as compared to other estimates, and they came in under the original estimate.
