A-1 PUMPING

Set appointment for Fri. Said they would be there after lunch. I called at 1:45 pm. Said they would be there 4-5pm. Got here at 5:30. Started digging. I was late for another appointment. So they said they would be back Mon. Oops they forgot it was a holiday. Called me back Tues. Said they would be there Wed. Finally came to finish job. Digging took longer than anticipated. Since I had a huge lid. Thank you Albert. Your a kind, hard worker. Boss should get you a helper to make things go faster. :)

I contacted this company about having our septic tank pumped. I advised them that it was partially under a deck. I was told this was no problem, they may have to hand dig but they could do that. They sent Gary out to look at the site the day before our first appointment. He said he thought he located the tank, but he said it was too far under the deck to use a machine and his boss Jerry would have to do the work. I talked to Jerry that day and he assured me they would be there the next day. They didn't show, didn't call so I called them again. Jerry told me he was really busy and that Gary was out sick, so he made another appointment to come out the following Monday. No show, no call. I called him once again and made yet another appointment. I changed my plans to be home that day. He said he would be there in the afternoon. No show, no call. Needless to say, I didn't call them again. I will find another company to do the work. This was the most unprofessional company I have dealt with in a very long time. Most will at least call you, but not Jerry. He just lets you change plans and wait around all day only to be ignored. I won't and couldn't recommend this company. I don't care how good they may be once they show up.

They do not return calls (after repeated attempts) and do not show up when they are suppose to! Call someone else!

As promised the person proceeded to the property. Once he got to the house he dug a substantial hole in the wrong place. He was thrown off by a pvc pipe that was run under the sidewalk. His next try he found the septic and pumped it out then immediately closed it up and filled it back in. He made a mess of the yard that's for sure. Now here's the odd part. The fellow was done with his work and wrote up the bill to a tune of 700 dollars!!!! 235 for the pumping 200 because he had to dig a foot down 100 for the inspection 175 for the inspection letter. He was charging me 3 times the amount I was quoted and for work that he didn't even do. There was absolutely no inspection done because I watched him perform the work!!! After I called the owner, he quickly adjusted the price down to 325 because I wasn't going to pay 275 for an inspection letter. Overall I had a bad experience with this company. I was misquoted a price, was almost overcharged and I still have no idea of the condition of the septic system.

Service the next day! Gary called me 20 min before arrival to let me know he was on his way. He was prompt and very professional. Great communication, was very knowledgable and fully answered any questions I had. Used the 5% coupon so my final bill was reduced. Would HIGHLY recommend this company and will use again without hesitiation!

He arrived shortly after the estimate waiting after the rain and completed the work in two days. was very friendly and did a great job with no problems.

I thought it had backed up but it hadn't. They told me there was nothing wrong with the septic tank, they went on to find and fix the problem. It was a pipe that had a root blocking the sewage flow. He came right after Memorial Day weekend and fixed the problem in 2 days. There was a thunderstorm and he was afraid of his equipment getting stranded so he left and came back. I'm pleased that he went above and beyond what he normally does to fix my problem for me. He agreed on a cash price and he had to do some extra stuff and he didn't go up on the price like he could have so I was pleased with the price. In the future he will be the first one I call.

Our house is on Norris Lake and 45 minutes everything. Our septic tank backed up into our basement family room on Memorial Day Weekend. We called A-1 to come out and find out what the problem was and to fix it. They sent someone out and started trying to locate the tank as it was not where the plans said that it should be. They spent several hours doing this before a storm came in and they had to stop for the evening. They were right back the next morning at it again. When they located the tank it was four feet underground and they had to dig it out with a bobcat. I live on the lake and my lot is very steep. It was amazing to watch the guy on the bobcat. Once it was dug out they determined that the septic tank was in good order so they started digging over the line and found that there was a connection close to the house that was not on properly (from some work I had done on the house 20 years ago) and a root had pried it open a bit and was growing in the line. It had finally gotten so big that it blocked the line and caused the backup. They sent someone for parts and repaired the line and put in a cap above ground so we would not have to dig the next time we needed to pump it. They also installed some clean-out lines outside the house. The ones that were there were inside the house. Since we had it open, they went ahead and pumped it. They were there most of the day but did not leave until they verified that all the plumbing was working as it should.

Called the plumber because our drains were making funny sounds, and using the shower drained our toilet! The plumber stated that he could not help and we needed our septic tank pumped immediately. This was at 3pm. We called A-1 and they had a truck out within the hour to help us. They were not only wonderfully prompt, but professional and courteous. We had a major grease problem and they patiently stayed until 6pm so that we were up and running before they left. I told the owner that I felt like white knights had arrived to save the day. Needless to say, we were VERY appreciative.

The pumping was fine although they were short staffed and we had to dig to expose the clean out hatch. We needed to repair a baffle. He took a long time and then brought the wrong one.
