I highly recommend Mike and the guys at Stay dry waterproofing in Cleveland, TN. We had standing water in our crawl space after any big rain event of two inches or more. Stay dry came in and put in a perforated pipe and gravel system on the inside perimeter of our crawl space and made it gravity feed to a catch basin in the back yard. They also installed a dehumidifier that is plumbed into the pipe system. We didn’t have to have a sump pump installed and our crawl space has been bone dry ever since. Mike and the crew were very professional and really know there stuff when it comes to crawl space water problems. It’s good to know we have someone in Cleveland that does great work in this type of business and stands behind their work. 5 stars

Had Mike come out to give us an estimate on our newly purchased home. We told him the things we knew we needed to do and he said if we do all those things we should be fine and the small amount of water in our crawlspace will stop coming in. He said fix those things first and if you still have a problem call me. Wow, I'm impressed!

They were fast, professional, and left the work area really clean. After a heavy rain, Mike came back to check on the work to make sure everything worked. Basement is now dry, and they guarantee their work. What a relief!
Description of Work: The crawl space/basement had standing water until Mike and his crew showed up to fix it. They had to dig into a concrete floor, install several drainage channels, and replace a useless sump pump.

They gave me great advice and didn't steer me to the most expensive repairs.
Description of Work: Foundation drainage and lifting.
Excellent results, problem solved. Highly professional crew and company. Large bush removed and hauled away, 12 inch wide concrete trench drain with grate installed across driveway at problem point, drainage system sloped and routed into back yard. These types of drainage issues always cost more than you want them to cost, but this was a fair market price and the process from initial estimate to job completion was top-notch professional work.
Description of Work: Installed grate with drainage system to solve a problem with water entering garage and basement when it rained.

Mike was pleasant do work with and his product is very functional without unnecessary bells-and-whistles. His crew showed up on time every day and worked hard. I performed periodic inspections and found Mike's work to be reflective of his values for follow-though and quality. In a few instances, Mike went above and beyond expectations to handle field conditions that technically were outside of his scope of work, but for which he considered to be in the best interest of the customer (me). I will provide a high recommendation for StayDry Waterproofing.
Description of Work: Installed gravity flow french drain system around entire perimeter of crawlspace with discharge neatly placed in back yard. Removed existing vapor barrier (old and torn) and installed new 6 mil black plastic sheeting. Performed additional tasks that went above and beyond scope of work.

Went very well. Mike Brindle came and did a thorough inspection of our house and explained completely what he could do for us.Got an estimate from him in a timely manner. His office staff was pleasant and professional also. Came a couple of days after the intended starting time due to him wanting the ground very dry(after it rained) before he put heavy equipment on our lawn. Appreciated that! Our house looked like a "war zone" in the middle of the job(all the digging!) but by the end, everthing was back to the way it was before he and his crew started! He graciously reimbursed us for repairs on a cable line that was nicked in the process! Everything was done in his timetable that he had set for the job. Would recommend him highly to anyone else who needs this type of work done!

Everything from the initial contact, to the inspection, price quote, and completion of the job was done in a timely and profressional manner. The service provider did not try to oversell services, instead proposing work that seemed a reasonable 1st step to solving my problem, with additional future steps, only if needed. And the price for the work done was reasonable.
Description of Work: Inspected my crawl space related to standing water. Laid two new drain lines from my front gutter down spouts running to the side of the house and into the back yard.

Problem: Standing water in crawlspace of the house Angela Brindle came to my home on March 25, 2014 and did a thorough evaluation of the crawlspace. Afterwards she explained her findings and what needed to be done to correct the problem. She then provided a proposal inclusive of the cost. In May 2015 I decided to award the job to StayDry. Mike Brindle came out and re-evaluated and provided an updated quote based on work done since the original quote. I asked Angela about the 10% Senior discount advertised on Angies List and she said because the quote for doing the job was low she could not do the 10% discount but decided to take 150.00 off the quoted cost. She sent an updated proposal noting the same. On that same proposal I noticed the language in the guarantee had been amended from 15 year guarantee for no standing water in the crawlspace to 15 year guarantee for no standing water in the crawlspace where work has been performed. I inquired about the change and she changed back to the original language. Mike Brindle was scheduled to begin the job on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 8:30am; instead, he called at 7:45am and informed me that he and Angela discussed the job and prayed about it the previous night and decided not to do the job. I asked why they made that decision and was told they didn't think they could do it to my satisfaction. I thanked him and ended the conversation. Mike and Angela Brindle were prompt, professional, honest, helpful and pleasant to work with. They answered all of my questions regarding the service they were scheduled to provide. I respect their decision to cancel the scheduled job, for whatever reason, though the timing caused a problem. Yes, inspite of the end results, I would not hesitate to recommend them. The overall rating is primarily based on their last minute decision to cancel the job and the inconvenience I encountered.

We are new to crawl spaces and what's required for their maintenance. However, we have had extensive experience with basements in other homes in other parts of the country and know that proper water drainage around a home's foundation is very important. We had noticed some soil gaping around the foundation of our current home and, given the frequent rains we have been experiencing, did not know its impact on our crawl space. In fact, one of our neighbors had just told us that they had standing water in their crawl space and they were in the middle of getting that problem corrected. We are seniors and are not really able to access the crawl space to adequately inspect it. So, we looked on Angie's List to research other's experiences with crawl space/basement waterproofing companies. We were so impressed with the reviews for Mike and Angela Brindle of Stay Dry Waterproofing that we emailed an inquiry to them through Angie's to ask if they would be willing to inspect our home's crawl space and evaluate the effectiveness of water drainage around the perimeter of our house. Within the hour Angela Brindle had responded and we had an appointment for Mike to come the next morning to our home. Mike arrived promptly, introduced himself and was very professional. We walked the house perimeter and he answered all my questions about drainage and assured me that the soil gaps around the foundation were not a problem. He then opened the crawl space door and entered to inspect the crawl space. In about five minutes, Mike returned with good news that it was dry and the joists showed no indication of mold growth. Basically, he said the crawl space in our home needed nothing. Mike also mentioned that he went ahead and recovered the floor with the vapor barrier in a couple of areas where someone had pulled it back and left the floor exposed. I asked Mike what we owed him and he said nothing. He wouldn't even accept gas money. Wow! This is customer service beyond the norm. Obviously, we are thankful for the 'no charge' but, more importantly, we are grateful to have had an honest person give us an honest evaluation of our situation. The owners of Stay Dry Waterproofing are people of integrity. We do not hesitate to recommend Stay Dry Waterproofing and should our crawl space situation change we will be calling them!

Everything went very well, from scheduling to completion. Mike provided a good, common sense approach to our wet crawl space problem. He and his co-worker arrived punctually, worked speedily and neatly, and got the intended job done. Much to my relief, he assured me that we did not need expensive equipment running 24/7 to have a dry crawl space, as some other companies had indicated in their estimates. I am grateful to Mike for his honest, common sense suggestions and the avoidance of unnecessary expenses. Thank you very much.

After the very hard rain in early July, we had water in certain areas of our finished basement and on the stair landing. Mr Brindle came out and recommended that we have some gutter and concrete slab work done (which his company does not do). He thinks that may solve the problem and prevent the need for expensive waterproofing of the foundation (which his company could do). What he told us made sense and we very much appreciated his helpful advice. If we DO need waterproofing services in the future, I would call Mr Brindle.

Mr. Brindle's wife came to give an estimate. She was so nice and easy to deal with. I was amazed at her honesty!! She told me that there was a small amount of water, but I did not need any work done. She could have easily quoted me a price for a job and tried to take advantage of the situation. She did just the opposite. I would highly recommend checking with this company due to this fact alone. I am so thankful that there are still honest people to deal with. I even tried to pay her for her time and gas, but she refused to take anything!

I will preface my comments to say that we are getting ready to sell our home and were really looking for advice and estimated costs to repair our basement to prohibit water intrusion. They took their time with us and really offered sensible advise. They determined mold was not an issue our old home (built in 1920s) and gave us good consult there. The cost estimate on the water intrusion was just more than we were willing to put into a house that we are getting ready to sell unless of course it becomes deal breaker for a potential buyer. So the fact that we didn't have them perform the work really only had to due with timing and how much we were willing to do to a home that we aren't keeping. Stay Dry seems like a good outfit.

I was very pleased with the work performed. I have been exceptionally impressed with how helpful and knowledgeable that Mike was. I called Stay Dry a couple of different time due to concerns with the crawl space in my home. On the first trip, he made suggestions regarding gutters and didn't charge me anything. On the second trip, he made more suggestions free of charge and came back later to do the work previously described. He also came back later when I was off work to explain what they had done. I found this company to be qualified, helpful, and honest so would most certainly recommend them. He even told me that I didn't need to do things that I had inquired about.

Stay Dry Waterproofing was very prompt, professional, and extremely pleasing to deal with. Mike Brindle came out immediately and gave me a quote in under 30 minutes leaving me with an estimated time they could perform the services. Once I told Mike I was awarding the job to his company he showed up on time and completed the job exactly when he said he would. Mike had made the comment that when he left I would not be able to tell he had been there (since he had to dig a drain in my front yard and move a lot of dirt and gravel in and out of my crawl space). I was a little skeptical of this fact but I was very pleased to see that he was correct. No signs of mud, gravel, yard work, or trash anywhere. My total experience with Stay Dry Waterproofing was extremely positive and I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

It did go well. He is very ethical person. I am saying this because I asked another person before him and that guy advised me to do an extensive work all around the crawl space and he offered to do the job for a great deal of money. He didn't even care to inspect well to identify where the real problem is. Although I am layman for the job, it was obvious that he was not reasonable.
Description of Work: We have had water problem in our crawl space whenever it is raining. I called and showed him about three months ago. He showed me one of the paths for the water to come in to the crawl space and advised me to have a handy man to fix the problem. We have it fixed and no water is coming through that path now. But still water is coming in through another path and I called him back to have a look at it. He came and inspected the crawl, outside downspout, the roof and given the size and shape of the roof he suspected that the existing downspouts are not enough to handle the water coming from the roofs when there is heavy rain. So, he advised me to add another downspout before I spend money in the crawl space. He told me spending money inside the crawl space should be a last resort that he can take care of it. He also told me the estimated amount to do the job if the course is chosen. All this inspection and advice was provided free.

They started on time and finished on time. The team was well behaved and professional in their conduct toward us. The worked hard in hot conditions and stayed on schedule. Our house had a large and short crawl space. On top of that, they had to crawl under the deck to access the opening to the crawl space. Imaging moving 10 tons of stone in that environment! As we are selling our home, they have a policy of no fee transfer of the 15 year dryness guarantee to the new owners. This helped in selling of our home. We proudly displayed their detail work contract, their Angie's list rating and the transferable guarantee program. I was so impressed, I recommended them to our friends in our neighborhood and they too are now happy customers. Someone you can trust and won't cut corners, hard working and very good at what they do.

I called Stay Dry Waterproofing on 7/23/13, to schedule an appointment to have my crawl space looked at because it is damp, smells horrible and makes my house stink. I spoke with Angela Brindle. Angela explained that the earliest her husband, Mike, would be able to come to look at it would be Weds., 7/31/13. We agreed to that date at 6:30 PM. Shortly thereafter, Angela called back to say Mike would be able to look at it that very evening if I was interested. Mike arrived at the agreed upon time (and called me first to say he was on his way!). He bravely crawled under my house to check for leaks, standing water, etc. (Yeah, it's his job, but there's no way I would ever crawl under there, hence the "bravely" crawled.) After looking at the crawl space Mike determined I did not need to do anything substantial to it. I need to open the vents and leave them open and have a heating/air conditioning service technician install a door with a fan on it that will turn on when the humidity level gets too high. In addition, Mike stated I need to get a gutter service technician out to clean and repair the gutters, since the overflow was causing issues with both the crawl space and the garage. In addition to getting the gutters taken care of, he suggested I have a tree service person come out and trim the tree limbs over the house so the gutters will stay cleaner longer. Mike stated the reason the garage was having problems with flooding was because the drain pipe from the gutter was missing. He even pointed out where the wood was rotted because of the water. As for the french drain, he instructed me to get all of the weeds cleaned out of it and any debris so the water could actually flow. (Gee, why didn't I think of that?) During his inspection to provide me with an estimate, Mike told me (1) I do not need anything done to the crawl space and don't let anyone tell me otherwise (2) get the gutters taken care of and the french drain cleaned out and the rest of the issues will be resolved (3) if that doesn't take care of the problem, call him back and he'll see what he can do. I was expecting to shell out a lot of money to get my crawl space "sealed" and was reluctant to find out what the cost would be. I was expecting to need a dehumidifier and a sump pump. It was a pleasant surprise (and a huge relief) to find out that I didn't need either. Once I get the repairs made that Mike suggested, I'll contact him to let him know if those suggestions took care of the problem. I can tell you this, if I EVER have any need for this type of service, or hear of a friend in need of this type of service, I will most definitely be calling Stay Dry Waterproofing. In fact, I've added them to my iPhone address book. I hope I don't need it, but if I do...
Description of Work: Looked at the crawl space to determine if it needed to be repaired or sealed. Looked at the garage to determine why it leaks during rainy weather. Looked at the french drain to see if it needed to be repaired.
