 + 0 moreScuba Steve came out as soon as he wrapped up another job he was working on the same day I called. I loved the business name and the fact he's a Veteran definitely caught my eye originally in his bio. He was also highly rated on Angie's List. Steve was prompt and got right to work. He replaced the wax ring and the hardware (because I know the hardware was bad to begin with), he put the toilet and all it's components back together and cleaned up everything after he was done. I would highly recommend Steve's services.
Description of Work: I needed to have our leaking toilet fixed after I was too busy to complete the task. I had removed the toilet but with some difficulty because the my hardware was bad and I knew it needed a new wax ring.

Steve is a perfectionist and that is the kind of person that you need when your most valuable possession your house in in there hands:) You can really tell he takes pride in his work and it shows in his attention to detail. His work was phenomenal and he made sure he took the time to get the job right which was a big plus... Bathroom looks awesome totally revamped and looking sharp. Hire this guy he does excellent work you will not regret it.
Description of Work: I had my bathroom sub floor around the toilet replaced because of water damage as well as a new tile floor installed as well as a new toilet and vanity.

 + -1 moreThis guy is soooo weird. Came to the house and I showed him the jobs. Gives me all the specifications for the wood I need to buy for the shelving in my garage, which was like $300. Tells me the post I need to buy and the quicrete concrete. I buy it all and call him back. He gets angry instantly. Saw that in him from the beginning when he is in the phone with me screaming at one of his helpers in the background. Tells me he is booked out another 2 1/2 months and that he is gonna pass on the jobs unless I give him a deposit and unless I give him a third job that was a maybe when we talked. He's soooo weird. Try's telling me that when we were on the phone together the first time and he was yelling at someone in the background that I answered with a different name. What?? I am a professional and I am telling u DO NOT go there with him. The construction industry has lost a lot of good people, but this goes to show u that there are still some total weirdos out there.

 + 2 moreThe toughest job was the replacing of several areas of rot on the wooden siding around our house; I thought this would take most of his time. Steve removed the bad wood from all 3 areas, fitted new pieces in and primed everything in just a few hours. He then removed and replaced all 5 exterior lights around the house and replaced a faucet in a bathroom, to include fighting a frozen joint under the sink which had to be cut off and replaced. Steve was extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. He had his college student son helping him on this day and they both worked very well together and finished the work and cleaned up all areas they had worked. There is no doubt that we will avail ourselves of his talents again.
Description of Work: We had the Handyman for 7 Hours special and had a list of a few items we thought he might get part way through to include carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills.

 + 0 moreSteve was very prompt in providing an estimate and in completing the work. Overall he did an excellent job. We had a 12 x 8 foot section of wood panel siding that was badly weather damaged. Steve matched the new siding material and paint perfectly. He replaced and painted the siding and surrounding trim in less than a day. The new siding looks perfect and matches the rest of the house exactly. Steve is professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He explained exactly what he would do before he started work. We also got estimates for two other contractors, but Steve seemed to be the most motivated to do this relatively small project, and he provided the most detail about the work that would be required. I will definitely call on Steve again for future projects.

 + 3 moreI had used the $99 for 3 hours of handyman service and was so pleased with the work that was done that I decided to get a quote to remodel my bathroom. Steve came and measured the bathroom and went with me to the store to recommend parts and pick out the tub, countertop, etc so that it would all be correct. He gutted the whole bathroom and replaced floor that was rotted. I am very pleased with the bathroom. It took him less than a week. He was always on time (usually even a little early). I will definitely use him again. I highly recommend him.

 + 2 moreInitially, we purchased a door & frame. Steve determined when he came to install it that the frame wasn't needed and would require extra time and cost. He made measurements for the door alone and came back to install that. We'd forgotten to get an adjustable sweep, so he went with me to hardware store to get the right one. There were no additional charges for those extra efforts! He was courteous and good-humored throughout the process.

 + 3 moreSteve was fast and cleaned up after himself. He carried the gas heater stove out to the curb for me. He ran to the hardware store to purchase some parts. All went well. He's very busy though and it took a few weeks before he was able to get here. Maybe wouldn't use if it was something that couldn't wait.
Description of Work: Steve put in a new bathroom faucet, fixed a leaky pipe, put new bolts in toilet tank, fixed a broken bracket for my kitchen drawer, removed an old ventless gas stove and set up a new one, replaced a window shade, and cut down 2 dead evergreens.

I got a quote for to remodel our bathroom and have already scheduled it with him. I definitely recommend Steve and will use him again.

 + 8 moreWe chose to hire Steve for this project because he had already been to our home twice previously and done work for us. I got to know him and his work ethic. Steve is on time, and usually early, and he gets right to work wasting no time. During this project, Steve uncovered a gaping opening in the cold-air return duct, as well as electrical and plumbing problems that he addressed with me and immediately repaired. Steve also found two windows that had previously been covered over with drywall. One window had the bathroom ventilation fan venting right through the window (who does this?). Also glass was missing, and thus, replaced. He also offered to grind the window frames to make them look better. I've come to know Steve as a highly skilled tradesman who takes a lot of pride in the work he does. We were very happy with the finished project, and of course, can easily recommend Steve for your next project, with the exception of carpet installation, which he says is the only work he doesn't do. If we remain living in Rockford, we will continue to count on Steve for future projects. Please check back for pictures of the work done on this project, which I plan to post. (Angie's List uploading problem.) Will post when problem remedied on their end.
Description of Work: Essentially, we had to "unfinished" half our basement space and install a dividing wall to create a new living space. The newly unfinished space would become a much-needed, size-able storage space with roughed in plumbing for a future bathroom. Steve removed drywall from the ceiling, walls, and an outdated bathroom area. He also removed old bathroom fixtures plumbing and electrical. Steve built a dividing wall between the newly unfinished and existing finished space. During the project, Steve also repaired a broken kitchen sink drain, which necessitated installing new plumbing fixtures and PVC pipe. He capped off the shower and toilet drains and also capped one to two electrical boxes that were not capped per code. Steve also primed and painted the new wall. Steve also did the following additional work: he replaced glass panes in three three basement windows; he removed and re-caulked kitchen counter trim; replaced our kitchen faucet; re-hung a closet door; replaced four light covers in our master bedroom and bath; installed new house address numbers; and replaced our front storm door handle/lock and kick-plate. The cost of this project was for labor only. Steve's work excluded the cost of all materials and the cost of dumpster delivery and haul-away.
