Great Job! He had to take off front part of deck from when we had a swimming pool, build a rail from nothing. fixed a lot of boards, pressure wash and prepped to be stained and sealed. Then came back next day stained every thing. Deck, sides, posts, and overhead. the rice included 370.00 in Materials.

Steve came look at the old water heater, went to get the hot water heater and attachments, installed and was done in good time. He gave me estimate for other work I need done. He is coming back next week. I would like a receipt, he said he would mail it.

I have listed below our exact conversation which we had after the order was placed and paid for. He states below "with a rate that cheap I need to stay within the terms set at the time this was set up" The point behind this back & fourth conversation is those terms were not set up anywhere on the advertisement. If they had been we could have avoided this problem. Regardless of what Scuba Steve Premier Handyman Services says, It is not the extra $45.00 this business was attempting to charge, I have spent more than that in time and gas due to this, It more has to do with the unreasonableness of a business charging $45.00 gas money for a 10 mile commute to do the job that they were paid for. It is 20 minutes from your address to mine, My Rockford address is 14 minutes from your address. Just trying to make sure you are not thinking this is further away than you think. I believe that is a note in the details Me, It is not in the details or "Fine print" I will contact Angie's list to see if they can include that information for the benefit of future customers, So that someone like me who is Literally 10 miles in distance from you is considered out of your service area, I am sorry about this, This purchase was not meant to be a hassle for you, But I do believe that your not willing to drive 10 miles to a job site is unreasonable Him, I am sorry your not happy. You can't Google an address and go by what it says. Winnebago is not in the area coverage for this deal. I have driven there before for a quote. It is a 30 minute drive for me. It is not the 10 miles you claim that is what Google or some map says. It does not matter, the city is not in the serve area. And with a rate that cheap I need to stay with in the terms set at the time this was set up. It is unfortunate it happened like this. If you like I would be happy to serve you however you would not qualify for the Big deal rate. I am not saying I won't drive to serve your home. I can't do it at the rate you want. Me, I am also sorry you are confused about what the Issue is, Just in case you were correct about not being able to trust Google or a map I made the trip from your house to mine, It is exactly 10 miles and does take 20 minutes. As I suggested in a previous message, the fact that you will not drive 10 Miles to serve a customer who decides to purchase this deal should be stated on the listing. Angie's list is of the impression that you service the Rockford and surrounding area's including the Quad cities. This big deal rate was listed as 120.00 value and sold for 99.00. If you are unwilling to drive 10 miles (20 Minutes) to honor the purchase of this you have no business advertising on Angie's list, Or at a minimum let the potential buyer know by including that information in the advertisement. Now I am out the $99.00 for the 10 day's it takes to get a refund. I will post our conversation on the review section so that others will not have to go through what I did. Him, WINNABAGO IS NOT in the surrounding area!!! That is meant to mean Loves Park, Machinery Park and Cherry Valley and even parts of Roscoe. In theses cities there is no break in the city scape. "In the surrounding" dose not cover Winnebago, Free Port or Belvidere other out laying areas. I offered to come to do the work with a small additional cost of gas for a 30 minute or 1 hour both way trip. I find it hard to believe that you came to my house then then drove out to the you want me to go to just to see how far it was. Besides that travel time varies in the time of day you go. First, i am happy to see you did remove your advertisement from area's you do not serve. In your reply you said many things that are not true. First you said i did not mention that i made the trip from your address to mine, I did mention that. You also say i did not post all our conversation, that is also not true. This was our exact conversation. You suggest that i was argumentative, verbally combative and demanding and go on to say "This guy did not post EVERYTHING he wrote to me. If you would have seen his mannerisms you would understand why I did not just go ahead the take the work" Since i did post our exact conversation you should have let the reader decide that rather than act like there were things i said that they could not see. You also act like the service address was more than i suggested since i blocked my address out. I did not lie about making the trip to your house, It is 10 miles and 20 minutes to make the trip. I also believe it may have taken you 30 minutes in the past when you gave your quotes, They just lived further than i do. Going west on Cunningham i am the first street before you see the sign that takes you in to Winnebago, Making me the closest to you that anyone who lives in Winnebago could be. Anyway, this will be my last response, Your future potential customers can decide if you were reasonable in this transaction. based on many of your previous reviews you obviously have handyman skills, Just lacking in customer service in my opinion.

This was the 2nd time Steve did some work for us and he was all we expected and desired. He was thorough, cleaned up the areas involved, did a good job. The first time he installed new vinyl in our bathroom and did a fine job with that as well. We'll definitely call him again when we have another project. He also removed some boards from our garage trim where bees had made their home and put up new boards. No complaints at all.

Steve is excellent. He came over (same day we called) and did many small jobs that we needed completed. Hard worker and very fair pricing. Will definitely use him again.

I wanted the bathroom cabinet and closet system done but added more tasks to the list in case there was enough time. Steve did a great job and accomplished everything on the list. I really appreciate that so many home improvement projects were taken care of.

Steve came by, gave me a fair estimate on what it will cost to get the jobs done. Steve came by every time he said he would, but not only did he do a perfect job, Steve went above and beyond what we agreed, I think because he knew it needed to be done.

This is our second time calling on Steve. Just as before, he arrived on time and got straight to work. He checked the size of the fan, and we went to Home Depot to pick out a new fan. (Steve wanted to ensure the right size fan was purchased, so prior to this appointment, he suggested we go together to the home store.) The 20+ year-old original fan was installed as if it would never need replacing, so it took Steve much more time than usual to remove it, not to mention brute force and a power saw. During the project, I told Steve I would pay him additional for his trouble. All the while, Steve was entirely courteous, professional, and without any complaints. When the work was finished, he asked for only the quoted price for the installation, but I kicked in a tip for the time and extra effort it took him to get this work done. Steve's a real professional. We now consider him our "go-to guy" for any kind of project we need done. As before, highly recommended.

I had put down laminate floor in my living room but was unhappy with my finish work and had trouble with a transition from tile to laminate. Steve came in for an estimate to redo it and was up front about what it would cost, and reasonably lowered the price when I suggested that I could remove the existing floor prior to him arriving. He said it would take most of the day, and it did. Showed up on time and cleaned up when he was done. I'm very happy with how the floor looks and recommend him for any work. He clearly takes pride in the quality of his work.

Steve was terrific. He arrived on time and got straight to work. He was very diligent about cleaning up after each project and even had his assistant, Gwen, shake out the drop cloths I had placed on the floor. Steve's workmanship was exceptional. And we'll be hiring him again for more projects. Next project will be the installation of a bathroom ventilation fan, which Steve estimated for us while he was here. Highly recommended.

This project was coordinated from California for work in Rockford. Work was performed on time and under budget.

Steve was early and went right to work. He had to work hard at replacing the parts as they were so rusted. We set up an appointment for him to come back and replace our kitchen faucet for $65.

He was early, but hadn't called, so I'm not sure how long he'd waited until I got home, still with plenty of time before he was supposed to arrive. I was bummed that the ceiling fan wasn't ready to be installed. The shelf kit wouldn't fit out-of-the-box, but I'd hoped that between us, a workaround could be figured out. He was more straight-foreward, so nothing was installed. He also adjusted a deadbolt that stopped sliding due to my house settling. He was very neat and vacuumed up all sawdust created. He certainly had skills, but he and I were not on the same wave-length.

Everything went very smoothly. He was punctual, stayed on task, kept us informed as to what he was doing and how it was going. He was everything we wanted in a repairman for our home. We will definitely use his services again. It's nice to have a "go-to" man for things that come up in our home.

WOW! Steve busted his butt to get as much done as possible off my "to do" list in the three hours he was here. I just bought a home and it is an old house with a few issues. In the short time, he did ALL of this (and did it effectively...and cleaned up after himself.) 1. Cleaned out my clogged dryer vent, fixed the outside "flap" to keep out mice and taped up the openings around the duct work with mice proof metal tape. 2. Repaired a sprung heavy attic access door that I couldn't get closed easily by myself. 3. Fixed a bedroom door that wouldn't latch. 4. Shimmed a toilet that was not level to the floor. 5. Removed and installed a ceiling fan. 6. Pulled up and carried outside a room's carpet and pad. 7. Fixed a light fixture in the top of my china hutch. He gave me quotes on a few other jobs and I will definitely be calling on him to do more things in the future.

Steve contacted me right away after my purchase. He came to my house the next day to see the specifics of the work and see what I needed to go out and get prior to him coming to do the work. Installations went well. My condo was built as a 'budget' condo many years ago, with the builder cutting as many corners as possible. Things aren't always a standard fit, but Steve made everything work. The front door was especially tricky, and he was very patient. I am contacting him again this week to do more work before winter, hopefully he's available!

I needed to update parts in an older bathroom. Some wall tiles had fallen off around the tub, and the flooring was upcoming up. Steve's quote was very reasonable and fair. He gave us a quote for his labor, and I would pay for all materials needed. For the project, I purchased the flooring, tub surround, toilet and some drywall at a local home improvement store. Steve picked up all the materials at the home improvement store, and other items for the job. The arrangement worked out great, because we decided what materials were used, made sure we had the right colors, and were able to keep cost under control. The project took Steve several days, but he was very professional and hardworking. The thing that impressed the most was Steve was always on time. If he said he would be at our house at 8:00, he showed up at 8:00. Additionally, as with any project in older homes, there were some hiccups and unexpected problems, but Steve was always quick to let us know about any issue. He would offer his suggestions, and then asked what we wanted. Overall, Steve was great and we were impressed his work.

I’m getting ready to sell my home and needed a handyman to fix a couple of things around the house. Overall, I believe Steve is a hard worker, but he’s not particular or put a lot of thought into what he does. A couple of instances, my hand rail rotted and I asked him for the amount of replacing it, instead of replacing, he slapped some wood glue on it and painted over it. He also replaced the light in my bathroom and ended up putting the light so far down that there was no place for a mirror. When I confronted him about it and had him redo it, he was not too happy at all. He replaced the toilet, failed to empty the water out and spilled it all over the floor which left a stain on my downstairs ceiling. He never offered to replace or fix that. When he put an overhead fan in bathroom, he kept storming around saying “it’s not working” and “I’m not working all day on this” finally read the instructions and got that together In the end, I felt like her rushed through everything and was not careful. I also feel like I got cheated out of my money because for every project he did, he took shortcuts to get them done fast but failed to alter the price of service. Not to mention I had to put up more money to replace the mistakes he had made.

Scuba Steve was prompt, courteous, and professional. He repaired some drywall in the hallway and bedroom damaged by a chimney leak. He showed up when he said he would and completed the job on time and within budget..

I can't wait that long for the home repairs that I need completed. I am giving an "A" for overall experience because Angie's List requires a feedback rating in order to receive a refund, not because I was happy with the provider. No service was performed. In the future, before I purchase any services or "deals", I will call the provider to make sure that the work can be done in a reasonable time frame.

We chose him because the price was more reasonable. The experience was so so. He wrecked some of the material, and had to buy more, I had to put in extra screws that he had missed. A lot of it was okay, but I ended up spending more on material because of him wrecking material.
