+ 0 moreThe day of the installation the plumber was sick. So his wife and helper came to install the unit. I should have said no but we had been without hot water for 3 days or so and they had taken our credit card number to purchase supplies... so we felt like we had to go through with it. The next week the hot water in the kitchen sink went down to a trickle. I checked with a plumber friend who worked on commercial sites and he told me that this happened after installations when the installer forgot to flush the pipes and plumbers glue got in the pipes. I called Normans and they acted like I was crazy and they didn't do ANYTHING that would cause that type of problem. However, they agreed to come out and look at it and an appointment was made. They didn't show. We called and the plumber/Norman was "sick" Guess what? EVERY appointment made was not kept over the next three months. We had to pay another plumber to fix the problem caused by Norman's Plumbing.

+ -1 moreDidn't go well at all. Unfortunately, we didn't know that he left us with a leak which turned into a nightmare as we were not occupying the residence full-time. When the leak was finally discovered, it cost my insurance company over $9,0000 in repairs to my kitchen, dining room and hallway floors, plus my $1,000 deductible. I had to call another Angie's List provider to repair what Norman Plumbing did not accomplish. The sink was leaking around the baskets at the drain. I have a Delta Touch faucet which was beyond Norman Plumbing's expertise. Don't hire except for the simplest of jobs. I certainly would not recommend them.

+ 0 moreWe hired Norman Plumbing after seeing the $49 coupon on Angie's List. They were very punctual in contacting us and setting up an appt, which I appreciate. They showed up early (after calling to make sure this was OK) and did a great job. They checked all the plumbing in the house - sinks, showers, toilets, baths, etc. They flushed the hot water heater and let us know it is in good shape. Our kitchen sink needed a new gasket, so they made the trip to a local hardware store for the parts, and we reimbursed them the cost. They completed the work on the kitchen sink quickly and we've had no issues since!
Description of Work: We hired Norman Plumbing to do the $49 hot water heater flush & house plumbing inspection.

Also they serviced the outside faucets. I was not charged for the second visit. However, the missed and late appointments would cause me not to use them again.

+ -1 moreI think they use the "coupon" small job to fill in and only come when they have nothing BIG to do?. Their appointment time means absolutely nothing as they never showed up at my home in 5 tries I would NEVER use their services as they are totally unreliable, unprofessional, and definitely not punctual (although I will never know as I never saw them in 5 scheduled days to do an 90 minute or so job!!!! They were cordial on the phone but could never quite get anyone to come to my home in 5 tries!! I gave them a D as they were cordial but not responsive or reliable at all.
Description of Work: I purchased a coupon on Angies List on July 30 2013 for $79.00 to replace an outdoor spigot and I have one that is leaking….I scheduled them to come at 09:00 am and noone ever came that day and they said they would come the next day for sure so I sat home and they did call to tell me that one of their plumbers had quit and they could not come. I rescheduled for later and then there was an illness in the company and again they could not come. I then scheduled them to come on 11-7-13 at anytime after noon and I called them at 2 pm when no one had showed up and they said there was a water main leak and they were there and waiting for the inspector to give them the "go ahead" but felt they would get to me before I had to work at 6:30 pm . Then they called about 5:30 pm and said they would not be coming….I wrote them an angry text and said I wanted to be "a priority for them" They agreed to come today and AGAIN did not appear, rather sent me a text saying they could not come at 1 pm as promised yesterday evening and suggested I get a refund which I am getting…

They were very thorough, did a great job, did it on time and did it for what they said they would do it for. I would definitely use them again in the future. Three things needed quick fixes so they fixed everything and did it for the price of the Big Deal. They came out promptly to do the work.
Description of Work: I used Norman Plumbing to come in and check all of the plumbing in the house. They also made necessary repairs to the items that needed it.

+ -1 moreThe people at Norman Plumbing called and made arrangements to come and change out all my supply valves. After a few times of having to reschedule we finally were able to meet up and get the job done. The Husband was the plumber and the wife was the helper. Unfortunately I have an old house and the supply valves I had were old as well and rather than robbing me for totally new valves, and a lot more labor hours, he repaired the ones I had with new parts in order to save me money. Unfortunately they had to drive around for around two hours in order to find the right parts to do the job. Finally the job was done and all they charged me was for the parts they bought. I couldn't in good faith let them get away without paying trying to help them pay for all the gas they used trying to find the parts so I paid them more than they requested. They were friendly, appeared to be very honest, and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to scam me into making more money for himself. I would use them again for my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: The plumber replaced all the supply valves in my house. It is an old house and all the supply valves were all stuck.

+ -1 moreHe chose the water heater that he thought was the best replacement for the one I have. He asked for the money to buy it upfront which I gave him. He installed it and it worked for a few days. I called him (it always takes a while to reach him. I have to call several time and send emails, and them when the call is returned it is his wife who returns the call, and she talks with you, and then talks with him and then talks with you, etc. ) and he came back and worked on it, and the same thing happened. After phone calls, emails ,etc he said he couldn't fix it. I said fine then replace it. He had lost the receipt and said he couldn't do so. I asked him to refund my money which he refused to do. Then he wrote me an odd email that had a great deal of incorrect information. All I could think was that he had me confused with another customer. I responded via email providing correct information. He never responded. I have saved all email correspondence.
Description of Work: He was to replace my hot water heater I have in my sink for coffee and tea.

They called before they came, just as I had asked. It took an additional hour because of the faucet and they only charged us $50 extra. Would definitely call them back if I needed them in the future.

+ -1 moreThey emailed me through Angie's List on Monday 9/9 informing me they would call me on Tuesday. They didn't call me until Wednesday. When I informed them what the issue was with my plumbing, they told me that they would be out here on Thursday in the time window of 12PM-1PM. I never left my house. They did not show up or call at all! They still haven't called me and it is now Friday morning. I am going to have to get an emergency service from another plumbing company! I am seeking a refund for this Big Deal!

My husband has now stepped up to the plate and says he will fix it. If it does not happen soon, I will call Bobby and Marie again.

+ -1 moreProvider made several appointments and either did not show up or called an hour before he showed up to cancel. The only time that he did show up, he was not able to get thru the crawl space to the faucet and promised to send someone out the next day who could. That did not happen and we have not heard from him since. Their company also claims that the "faucet" part of the deal is extra even though the fine print says a frost free faucet is additional (implying that the replacement faucet is included). I am sorry that they have been over whelmed but they should not make promises they cannot keep. The Angie's List folks have also been hiding this fact in their overall review as their customers have been giving them reviews ranging from A-F since this April further showing that they are inundated yet the current and overall rating remained an "A".

+ -1 moreThrough Angie's List BIG DEAL I bought the $79 service to replace my outside faucet through Norman Plumbing. I set the appointment about 2 weeks in advance and got a call the night before that they would be at my home at 9am. At 9am no one showed. I called both their office and Norman's cell phone with no response. I then called Angie's List to complain that no one showed after I took a day off. Three hours later I get a call that they're going to be late. They arrive at 12:30pm (3 and a half hours late). Once they are complete they tell me they had to buy extra stuff like epoxy and give me a bill for an additional $23.04. So I had to buy the faucet for $20, pay $79 for the service and then additional $23 for extra stuff. This $79 BIG DEAL actually cost me over $120. I will not use this plumbing service again.

He repaired the toiler so I asked him to look at the sink leak. He needed some parts so we scheduled that work for the following day. I had to reschedule last minute and they were so great about it. They left the work area very clean and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this couple to you! He even used my "problem" to video it and put it on UTUBE! How cool is that! Thanks guys!

He also told me how to get my refund for what I paid Angie's List for this package. He gave me good advice that saved me money. I was very impressed by his honesty and appreciate how he said he would honor the price that I have if I still need him to pump out my sewer lines after I get my septic tank pumped out. I would use him in the future if I needed.

Description of Work: A non-Angie's List remodeling crew recently remodeled my bathroom. There were several problems: leaking shower fixture, leaky pipe in basement, shower handle would not fully turn on so I couldn't get a hot shower, and the sink drain stopper was not installed. Mr. Norman repaired it all in one visit and explained what he was doing. He was prompt, friendly, professional, and very affordable!
