Customer service stated that their records showed a refrigerator purchased on 9/16/05. I said this was not right, and I would find the receipt. The receipt shows a delivery date of 10/13/05. I called back on 10/27/06, and Maytag stated refrigerator out of warranty, even though it was only ten days from original call and two weeks past purchase date at time of second call. There was no consideration or grace period. I asked to speak with a manager, but the call handler absolutely refused to let me speak to any higher authority.
Description of Work: A refrigerator purchased on 10/13/05 makes a loud noise when the motor goes on. I called Maytag for service on 10/23/06.

This was a very friendly guy that seemed to go above and beyond. He did a lot of cleaning of flexible hose and around the outside where it vents out. He also changed the orientation of which way my door swung out which has been great! At first his work seemed to help, but as soon as the warranty on it ran out (of course- Murphy's law) it's having the same problem again.
Description of Work: Best Buy sent this company out to work on our dryer. It was overheating and burning clothes- or it wouldn't dry them at all.

The repairman was scheduled for almost a week after I called. He was to be here between 7 and 12 in the morning. He called at 7:15 and was here by 7:45. Although he had 11 calls that day, he took his time and did what I hope was an excellent repair. If you have bought Maytag appliances, I believe it is best to call them for repairs. The $132.95 includes the call and the labor. Unless it is a very small repair, this isn't too out of line. Maytag offers extended warranties on their appliances, and I now believe these are necessary. Their washers and dryers aren't built as well as the old models. Our previous ones lasted 17 years and were still going strong when we left them with our old house. Personally, I won't buy their products again.
Description of Work: My less than two year old Maytag washer had a leak underneath. The repairman replaced a major seal and bearings. He was here for over an hour and had to disassemble a good portion of the washer. As glue was involved, I was unable to use the washer for 24 hours after the repair. The parts were still under warranty so aren't included in the cost. There is a 90 day warranty on the new parts which I was told is the best warranty offered in the business.

DK WAS SO THOROUGH! HE MADE SURE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS COMPLETELY SOLVED, AND WAS VERY METICULOUS IN HIS APPROACH. SET LABOR PRICE SO THERE IS NO TIME CONCERNS. THE NEEDED PART CAME IN BEFORE EXPECTED, AND THEY WERE CALLING ME RIGHT AWAY TO SCHEDULE THEIR RETURN. I WAS HESITANT TO CALL A 1-800-4MAYTAG NUMBER FOR SERVICE BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THEM AGAIN FOR OTHER APPLIANCES, THEY SERVICE MOST MAJOR BRANDS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THAT THEIR TIME FRAME FOR SERVICE IS A LITTLE BROAD, BUT YOU CAN NARROW THEM DOWN IF NECESSARY!
