The owner returned the carpets and would not put the area rugs back without trying to charge me another $50. I have used this company several times and they lost a good customer! The owner was rude and showed no customer loyalty. The carpets did not even smell clean. Customers beware!!!
Description of Work: I had three area rugs taken away so they could be cleaned on both sides. I was charged over $250.00.

I chose this company because I had trouble getting some others to even return my phone inquiries They quoted a price of 22cents per square foot plus $2 per stair which was in line with what we paid to have the carpets done two years ago. Our carpets are a light tan color and about ten years old, but we do not wear shoes inside or allow food/drinks on the carpet. Therefore, they were worn but not terribly dirty. However, I have a baby about to begin crawling and wanted to be sure that the floors are clean. The technician arrived and measured, and we agreed on the price. We had already spent several hours cleaning up all of the toys and smaller items off of the floor and out of closets etc so that he could get to as much of the carpet as possible. He carried things in and set up and already had half of the bonus room sprayed with cleaner before I noticed. We questioned why he was not going to vacuum first (since our last carpet cleaner did this and I have read that it is important), and he said that it wasn't necessary as long as you don't have anything large on the rug that will clog up their equipment. We told him that we weren't comfortable with that, and he agreed to spray another room (that we had vacuumed the day before) while we tried to quickly run the vacuum. He mistakenly sprayed another unvacuumed room instead though so half of two rooms were sprayed without being vacuumed at all and the others we vacuumed ourselves very quickly. The tech was nice, but he was not able to answer my questions about what chemicals are used or whether they are rinsed away or left on the carpet. I also questioned how hot the water was as it was obviously warm but did not seem very hot. After spraying, he went over the carpets with the water vacuum. He did not ask where we had problem areas or try to individually treat any of our spots/stains as our previous carpet cleaner had. Of course, none of our spots were removed. He also did not use anything to prevent the spray solution or water from getting all over our hardwood floors at each doorway. When he was cleaning up later, he took the hoses off in our hallway and spilled a lot of water out of the equipment and over the wood floor there without even worrying about it (we had to get our own towels to dry the very large puddle). When he finished, I got down at floor level and was very unhappy with the level of cleanliness. It may be more apparent on our lighter carpet, but there were little specks of dirty everywhere still - dirt that you could easily pick up with your fingers. I did complain to the tech, and he went back over part of the floor again, but it did not improve. I tried to call someone and complain while he was still here, but I coudn't reach anyone. He said that he could not leave without payment, and my husband needed to return to work so he gave a check. When I was finally able to speak with the lady several hours later, she said that she could probably send someone back out to clean the carpet again the following week. I told her that we had pulled things out of the closets and moved furniture. We couldn't leave everything that way for a week. I also have an infant and toddler so keeping them off of the wet floors for one day was hard enough, and we didn't want the floors soaked a second time when there was no assurance that it would work any better the second time. Unless there was something wrong with the equipment, it just wasn't picking up the dirt like one would suspect. She didn't think that there was anything wrong with it though. The company does claim to have a guarantee, but apparently you have to be willing to let them soak your floors a second time before you can actually say that you are not satisfied. The last time we had the carpets cleaned, they looked cleaner afterward. My biggest complaint then was that they did not clean up to the baseboards so there was a noticeable line of darker/dirtier carpet around the edges of the room and stairs. This time, I could not tell that anything got any cleaner. I did a thorough vacuuming after they dried, and that did help some with the pieces of noticeable dirt. Even with the a/c and fans running, the floors were still a little wet 24 hours later. There was also a lingering smell for several days which makes me worry that some chemicals were left behind. Having the floors cleaned was a hassle for us, and I am very disappointed. I expected the carpets to look worn but clean afterward, and they definitely did not. I worry that the high pressure water actually just pushed dirt deeper into the rug so that it may be even more difficult to clean now than before.
Description of Work: A cleaning solution was sprayed on the carpets. Then the technician used the van-mounted water/vacuum unit to go over the carpets.
