I took my tower to PC glitches for troubleshooting and possibly repair. At first I was comfortable with their capabilities. I dropped of the computer of at the store on 13 DEC 10. On 15 DEC 10 I called and inquired into what was found. I was told that the motherboard had crashed and it could not be repaired until after the new year. I authorized them to complete the repairs and expected it to be ready after the new year. Mid January my wife called to see if the computer was repaired and ready for pick up, she was informed that the computer had already been picked up. Neither my wife or I had picked up the computer. After she told them we had not picked up the computer, she was told to bad that if had been picked up. My wife then spoke on the phone and email with the owner. She was told that I had picked up the computer, which I had not because I was not even in this country. After multiple phone calls and email, nothing had been taken care of. My wife was told she was lying and she or I had picked up the computer. I returned to clarksville on 24 February. The next day I went to PC Glitches to get the situation fixed. When I arrived at the store I was informed that my computer had been picked up by someone else with the same last name. No one at PC Glitches checked serial numbers on the computers or even the correct name on the maintenance request. Further the individuals had my computer for over a month with my families personal information and pictures on it. The owner of PC Glitches apologized and we were finally received our computer back. Unfortunately all of our pictures/information had been removed, even though I had been told that would not happen. I will never give them my business again or recommend this business to anyone.

Yes I do admit we made a mistake. Two people dropped off 2 of the same machines needing the same repairs with the same names. The odds of this happening are like winning the lottery but it happened. We did recover the computer and ALL OF THEIR INFORMATION WAS INTACT. The labor was taken off of the bill and they only paid for parts. We very often run into cases where deployed spouses pick up machines. We asked his wife to contact her husband and check if this was the case. It was nothing to the extreme that was stated here. After she verified that he had not picked it up we did find out what had happened. We have made changes to our pickup procedure to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Description of Work: They transferred my data from a recently replaced internal hard drive (in a box) to an external hard drive when I lost all of that information in my new internal hard drive.

My HP laptop would not turn on when I pressed the power on button. The cord does not have a short and when I plug it into the laptop I see the little blue light. So nothing is wrong with the cord. This happened on Sunday and I was able to get on another computer and look up what the problem might be. The suggested fix was taking the battery out of the bottom of the laptop or replacing the battery on the bottom of the laptop. I was going to take it to Geek Squad Monday but this place was closer. The guy at the counter immediately greeted me and I explained that my HP laptop would not turn on. He went to the back room and got a screw driver so he could take the battery out but the problem was my button that releases the battery was broken. He attempted to prey open the battery cover something may have clicked because he plugged in the laptop and the power button did work and my laptop turned on again. He said no charge but in the future my battery may need to be replaced and the button that releases it will have to be fixed. I would say give them a try.
