After completing paperwork with a salesman, an appointment was made for a technician to install the system. The installation technician for the company made at least four trips to my home to attempt to complete the installation, without success, and late for every appointment. On one occasion, he brought his young daughter with him and she paced back and forth on my brand new hardwood floors, scuffing the shine with the heel of her shoe for about 10-15 minutes. He didn't say a word to her, so I told her that if she wanted to wait on the sofa, that would be fine. Then, he decided to speak up and tell her to sit down and be still. Ultimately, he was never able to get the alarm system to communicate with their home office or emergency services, but I was already signed to a 3-year contract with the company. Despite their breach of contract, my deployment schedule (in the military) and work schedule while stateside prevented me from finding a lawyer to go after them to get my money back for the 3-year contract. CSI is a local dealer for Monitronics Alarms, and I should have done my homework before signing the contract. Lesson learned, and I only hope someone sees this before they sign paperwork. As a side note, the contract automatically renews unless you submit (in writing) a request to have the contract terminated. There should be a class action suit against this alarm systems company from all of the things I found in forums after I was burned.
