I called Chuck becasue I know him to be a man of his word. I sent him a sketch of my kitchen with basic dimensions. He gave me a budget price of $11,500. Aftyer I reviewed his price, I called and he came to my house, measured everything, and helped me select hardware, finish, door style, special features ( two lazy suzans, pantrry, pull out dual 30 gallon trash cans, roll out full extension drawers and shelves), and counter top material and color. Chuck told me it would be about a month before he could begin the cabinets. In about six weeks, he called and said they were done and set up an instillation date. He and his crew arrived on the apointed date at 8:30 am and left about 2:30 PM with the old cabinets removed and carried outside, new cabinets installed including all trim and hardware, and clean-up to original or better condition. His counter top supplier and installer (Bison Counter Tops, Ashland City, TN) came out the very next day and made detailed measurements of the instillation for counter top fabrication. This was a somewhat difficult top instillation becasue of the tile backsplash which remained when the old cabinets were removed. Our new granite counter tops were installed one week later and fit perfectly on top of the new cabinets and below the existing tile. Overall during the instillation of the cabinets anly seven or eight pieces of tile had to be removed. No tile was broken during instillation fo the cabinets or the tops. Chuck came by while the counter tops were being installed and checked to see if things looked OK. Without me noticing, Chuck spied a door that was not made to his liking during cabinet instillation and he personally replaced it when he came to check on the counter top instillation. I am certianly glad I called Chuck. No, even though we share a samne last name, we ar not kin to out knowledge. Chuck was about $7,000 less expensive than a local big box store. Chucks cabinets are FAR better (all wood, no MDF, pressboard,or hardboard or veniered wood) than the big box store "best" cabinets.
