C Roberts Concrete

First of all, they arrived a week ahead of schedule when I was leaving to go out of town. I had to postpone leaving to be here while the initial work was started. The concrete was poured "hot" and they were not able to complete the broom finish so some of the concrete by my steps is rippled. I have a very low spot where water collects when it rains. The concrete was supposed to have fiber included but it was not and now I have cracks forming over the entire patio. After numerous calls with no response, three weeks later I finally got a call that they were coming out to do another job we had agreed upon. I told them not to come, that I had already laid the block for the retaining wall. I told them I did not want them to come back out since the patio was poorly poured. I took them to court. The judge found in my favor but I have not been able to collect yet and it has been over three years.

Don't use this contractor. Initially this company came out quickly, affered an estimate that I thought was high and revised it downward. They did the work on time but when they cut the joints chipped the concrete badly and the concrete was discolored which they said would go away in time. The joints were so cracked and chipped I called him back to repair them. He wouldn't respond. After many calls I finally decided to send a letter notifing him that I would take him to court if he did not come and fix the joints. He finnaly did by only adding concrete in the joints. Needless to say, they are worse off now.

Do not hire this company unless you want empty promises of time lines and progress. Don't expect any communication during the process. I believe that they are overextended in the jobs that they have taken on and are ignoring customers. I received an estimate that was more than fair. I discussed the work that needed to be accomplished with the owner. He failed to meet any milestones in the timeline that we discussed. I understand that things happen outside the control of a contractor, but he does own a cell phone. Apparently he sees no need to use it to inform his customers that he will not be able to meet the deadline. I contacted him numerous times, only to receive more empty promises. He arrived a day after the work was originally supposed to begin, did a sub-standard job of digging the area, then left without any conversation. I went on to work, expecting that he would return and complete the tasks that I had discussed with him earlier that morning. 8 hours later I returned to check his progress, only to find that he had never returned. I attempted to contact him to find out what the issue was. All my calls went unanswered, as did the voice messages that I left. When I did finally reach his wife, she told me that he was busy and would call me back as soon as he was done. Surprise, i never got a return phone call. If you need concrete work done in Clarksville and want to have any control over when it actually happens, call someone else. I cannot speak to how well he actually pours and finishes concrete since I had to hire someone else to finish that C. Roberts Concrete almost started. I even had to fire them via voice mail. I am very happy that I did not pay anything up front.
