Androws Flooring

We had the vinyl flooring replaced in our kitchen and laundry room with premium vinyl for an approx. cost of $3500. Overall, the experience was good and we are satisfied with the results. This is due to the professional office staff and the expertise and attention to detail of one employee that came the second day. He made the effort to get things right even if it took more time, I am glad he did most of the kitchen floor. On the down-side, the required 1/4" underlayment ended up raising the floor so that transition strips between the vinyl and the hardwood floors are at an angle (one has already cracked). Also, when they left, the door to the garage would only open about 1/2 way before hitting the floor and rubbing (I ended up removing and replacing the door sweep). The hallway door was the same, but they could cut that shorter. The estimate included new shoe molding but failed to take into account that I had about 10' of oak-colored molding so they had to re-use the old stuff (one guy even wanted to re-use the old white molding in the laundry room, he said all it needed was repainted). As a detail item, I would suggest that a touch of white paint on the exposed cut surfaces of molding would finish it right. The office staff was very helpful, they quickly emailed an estimate, responded to questions, set up an install date and contacted us prior to arrival. We would recommend Androws flooring to others.

My experience was superb! From start to finish. I took a chance on Angie’s List and went for it. I’m glad I did. Once I met Alexa and we discussed my needs and plans she quickly set everything in motion. Her Father, Kevin, came to my house for details and an estimate. I waited for the floor wood to ship and that took a few weeks, but they kept me informed the whole way. I was not in a hurry over the holidays. Kevin has a keen eye and listened to every detail I wanted. He guided me through the process and choose a superb team full of experience, (no newbies in training). This business is family run and take great pride in their work and take the time to build a relationship with their customers with homes. I knew I was in the right place after my first meeting. Professional in all respects! Kevin even remembered my Angie’s List discount!

When I walked into their showroom I was greeted by Mary (the wife of the husband and wife team who own Androws Flooring.) After 5 minutes, I felt as though I had a new friend. She immediately sensed that I had somewhat limited resources, but would like a quality floor installed. After I wasted time looking at the bargain basement samples of flooring...none of which would I ever consider putting in my house, she asked if I would be willing to look at something a little different. After spending 20 years in the strict regimented life of a U.S. Soldier, something a little different appealed to me. Thicker laminate, with such beautiful texture and fantastic detail...all at a price I could afford and and a look that would definitely showcase my living room furnishings was the deal maker. Mary came personally to measure and finalize costs the very next day. The final price was within, however, at the very top of what we budgeted for. Seeing the look of concern on my face she immediately stated "of course, that's if my guys do all the work." Without my even asking, she told me the steps that I could take to lower the cost, by hundreds of dollars. The tasks I was required to do were indeed doable and not time consuming for example, replacing the 1/2 round molding after floor is laid. It took 30 minutes! My wife and I quickly agreed and set a time for installation. Installation was set for a Saturday morning. They were scheduled between 8-9 a.m. At 8 a.m. the trucks pulled into my driveway. Preparations with their equipment and materials took a while. Actual work time lasted a mere 2 1/2 hours. At the beginning of the next week Mary arrived, inspected the work and asked if I was happy. Then and only then was I allowed to ask if I could pay her. Mary and Kevin Androws are the type of small business owners that seem antiquated in today's fast pace society. They are a throwback to the time when people cared, not only about their bottom line, but about their product and their customers. I had looked at other companies here in the area, I feel lucky and blessed that they were the ones we chose.

He was on time, half the price than competitors! Very friendly and fast service!

I went into their store at least 5 times and had them on speed dial. I had lots of questions and had a hard time making up my mind. They really got to know what I was looking for and ultimately helped me find floors that were perfect for me. Since I wanted to install myself, I took a notebook into their office and Kevin gave me advice for about an hour. His advice was very specific because he had personally measured the rooms and looked for anything that might make the install tricky. Mary and Kevin clearly enjoy what they do and they are very good at it. I recommend unreservedly!

He did a great job! I wasn't sure how I wanted the carpet installed near an entry doorway. Mr Androws knew exactly what to do. He left the hardwood uncovered right by the door so that I could put a doormat on the floor, instead of taking the carpet right up to the door. By doing that, people didn't walk directly onto the carpet when it's rainy and muddy. Mrs. Androws is an expert on what type of floor covering you need, and Mr. Androws is an expert on installing the floor covering. I have recommended them to a lot of people already. I certainly will use them again when I need more flooring. Even if you don't know exactly what you want, they'll help you figure it out.

Kevin was the best. He came out and did an estimate to fix a 1/4 inch gap in our hardwood floor. Our house was on the market, so time was of the essence. He estimated $400, but it was an unusual repair (long story, too long for here). It ended up being complex and then it was difficult to find replacement boards, but he knocked himself out to get it done well and quickly. Our floor looks perfect and he refused to charge us more than the $400 he'd quoted us, even though the repair was much more complex and time consuming than he'd initially thought. We're moving to a house that needs new flooring and I will definitely be using Kevin. I've been shopping over at his showroom and he and his wife Mary know their stuff. Nice folks with a great work ethic and a wealth of knowledge.
