Description of Work: We scheduled an appointment to have our trees looked at for an evaluation. He didn't show up. We called he then came by to take a look at what we had. We made an appointment to have the work done at $100 on top of what we paid Angie's List. He didn't show up. We had an alternate date. In case he couldn't make the first appointment. He didn't show up. I called again and made another appointment. He didn't show up. We had an alternate date, just in case. He didn't show up. He has never called to say that he would not be able to make it. Absolutely NOTHING! I want a refund OR another contractor to do the work.

How did it go? It didn't. We scheduled with him to come look at what needed to be done on Friday Feb 7th at 1:00. He had directions and our phone number. He called and re-scheduled for 2:00. He was a no-show and didn't call us, so my husband called him and re-scheduled for Sat Feb the 8th at 11:00. Again he was a no show and didn't call. My husband called him, and he didn't offer an explanation of why he didn't show up, but he re-scheduled for 5:00. Guess what? He was a no-call no-show again, and that was the last time there's been any communication with him. I cannot comment on punctuality since he never actually made it here, or quality since he never did any work, but he's pretty much the bottom of the barrel when it comes to professionalism and responsiveness.

I paid $200 to Angie's List for $400 of tree service. The quote I received for the work I needed done was $1,100. I had a couple of extra limbs cut the day of the service and was quoted an additional $40. So the total due the day of the service was $740, totaling $940 paid for $1,140 worth of service. This worked out to approximately $200/hr for the crew and their equipment.
Description of Work: I purchased a $200 coupon on Angie's list for $400 worth of tree service. The Wysong brothers were responsive and professional. I had them raise the canopy on two large trees, remove two very large oaks that were beginning to die and cut down several trees that were going to be too close to a future garage building. They cut and stacked firewood and left two large oak trunks that I will have cut into beams. I elected to dispose of the limbs and cut up the smaller trees myself to save a little money. The job was completed in 4-5 hours.

It worked out fine. They cleaned up what they cut off. They were good. I spent another $300 because the job took a few more hours to do but that was fine. They were easy to work with. They came out the day before to get a sense of what the task was going to be so there weren't any surprises. They were late but it wasn't their fault. There has been an accident on the way to my house but they neglected to call me.

I chose Wysong because of their reviews and service description on Angie's List. The brush clearance was the main item that we wanted done, as our back yard had gotten overgrown with a lot of thick brush, dead trees, and weeds. First let me preface this by saying that the guys at Wysong have always been very cordial and nice to deal with, however their job performance left a lot to be desired. My initial impression was a positve one, in that the owner and his co-worker showed up on the date and time they said they would, and were very easy to talk to. I had received a few other estimates for the required services, and Wysong gave the best impression, and a price that was a little above average for what I wanted done. I was explicitly clear as to what I wanted performed, and they stated they clearly understood, and would do the job correctly. After discussion with my wife, we decided to utilize them for the job. The job date was set, and an initial deposit of 20% down was given to them the following day as per their policy. Initially, the job went well. The crew showed up a couple of days late, but accomplished a large part of the job. They weren't able to come back for another 2-3 days because of rain, but they did come back at the end of the week and finshed 85% of the job. I was able to meet them as they were "finishing" for the day, and I stated that while I considered most of the job complete, there was still a lot of the smaller bushes, vines, and ground cover that were yet to be cleared, and that I did not consider the job done. I was assured that they intended on coming back to complete the job with brush trimmers and weed spray because their equipment couldn't maneuver around some of the large rocks and many trees. At that time, the owner requested full payment for the job, which against my better judgement I reluctantly agreed to with the assurances that despite receiving payment in full, they would return to complete the unifinshed job. This is where the hassel began. They have yet to finish the job despite multiple promises to return to complete it. To be fair, the week after they left was very rainy, and precluded them from getting back to our house. However, over the last 2-3 weeks, there have been multiple sunny, dry days in which to complete the job satisfactorily. Despite multiple texts, voice messages, and reassurances by the owner that the job would be completed, it has yet to be finished. After almost 3 weeks, a crew did come by for all of about an hour, but didn't accomplish any of the remaining work that I can tell. There are still bushes and weeds that need to be cleared. I finally reached the owner via cell phone, and told him how I felt about their job performance, and the fact that in my mind, it gave the appearance of being unfinished. We set up a time for him to come and inspect the property to see what my complaints were, and what needed to be done to finish the job. However, as usual, he never showed up on the date and time we agreed upon, despite me clearing time in my schedule to wait around for him. He also never called to reschedule. I've come to realize that now that they have my money, the job will never be finished. I would summarize this long "rant" by saying buyer beware. While the majority of the job was completed, it has yet to be fully finished. If one decides to utilize Wysong's services, make sure that your expecations are fully expressed, and they implicitly understand what you want accomplished. Also, DO NOT pay for the job in full if it is not completed, which is sadly, a lesson learned on my part. The unfortunate part for them is that this was going to be part of a larger staged job of clearing a lot of pine trees, and could have made them another $8000-10000. However, I will definitely NOT be calling on their services again. They may do a fine job for smaller projects, but I cannot recommend them for this type and scale of job.

These folks have a lot to commend them. They were very courteous, prompt, and there was no significant wait time for either the initial estimate or for the job to be completed. What I found bothersome was the way payment was assessed/handled. I used the $99 Big Deal for $200.00 worth of work. When the estimate was made, the estimator stated that he thought the job entailed about 3 hours worth of work, at $200 an hour, leading to a total bill of $500, after the 'Big Deal' discount. (Well, $499.00 more precisely - $99 is paid in advance online in order to get the 'Big Deal '.) Of course, people offer these deals because they're trying to get more business; it's understood that that's the nature of the discount. I didn't expect to be home when they did the work, (and had told him as much when we set up the date for the work to be done) but some schedule changes allowed me to be present. The job estimated to take about three hours took approximately one hour, perhaps a little more. I went outside just before they were finished and asked the guy if he thought it was going to take three hours; he frowned and looked down at the ground. I then suggested - lightly - that there was other brush on the other side of the fence if it wasn't going to take nearly as long as he had guessed the original would take. Of course, the other brush, which wasn't part of the original agreement, wasn't touched. The spokesperson rang the bell, asked me to check the work (I looked quickly - they basically did quite a good job, there was a little more cleanup they could have done, not much, but it was my fault for not asking for it). Then he wanted to be paid the remaining four hundred dollars. I asked him about the rate, given that the job had taken less than half the time estimated - actually about a third of the time - and he explained that he charged a 'flat rate' so that if he had to run over his time estimate, a person wouldn't be charged more. I paid him the four hundred remaining dollars. as agreed. If you have a good eye for these kinds of tasks and can estimate pretty closely what a job will take, you'll be in a better position to work with this company. I will remember from this point forward to ask a company that quotes a fee based on estimated hourly rates what happens in either situation - fast or slow work completion. But I regret that I will not be comfortable using this company again. I'm uncomfortable having paid $499 for a job that, with the discount, should have cost between $100 and $200, if you round up an extra half hour for the few minutes over an hour that it took. Friendly, prompt people but make sure you are thorough in your understanding of their billing and payment policies before you proceed. This also makes me wary of 'the Big Deal,' since people know they have your business once you sign up. It might be better to just have work done within the limits of the Deal that you choose, and if you like the work done and the way in which it was done, hire the company for a second time later.

I called the number on monday and did not hear from them, i emailed on tuesday and a young man called me back and scheduled to come look at the job. i told them i had the angie's deal so not surprises. two young men came wed afternoon and looked at the job and quoted 400.00. i was okay with that because i thought (my mistake) that was before taking the 200.00 off for the deal. i reached out via email to confirm this but no response. three young men showed up friday about 10 am and cut the limbs we needed trimmed. they were here about an hour and a half and did a good job. when the finished they said it was 400.00 and i asked if that was after the angie's deal (as i had yet to hear back from the owner). the young man then called the owner ( i am assuming) and said that yes that was after the special. that this would have been a 600.00 job. there is no way i would have paid 600.00 for the amount of work that was done. i thought 400 was a little high but figured it was a little higher to offset some of the coupon. they quoted 1200 to drop a very large full grown tree in my front yard and this hour and a half job was 600. My advice is to get the exact price including the coupon before letting them cut anything. if i had been informed that the 400 was after the coupon i would have probably just written the 99 dollars off and gotten the tree trimmer who is doing the large tree for 800 to do the work needed.

I had spoken with Philip on 2 occasions and after getting other estimates, I called him back. I called him on Monday and they came out on Tuesday. Others told me that it could be up to 1 and 1/2 weeks before they could even get here. The main tree I needed removed was an 100 ft. DEAD Hickory. This tree was very dangerous and had rotted so fast that it would just drop limbs even when there was no wind. So it was imperative that I get this tree down. Philip and his two Brothers were so nice and kind. They showed up exactly when they said they would, had all of their equipment and went right to work. I wish I had not even called anyone else!! I could not believe how quickly they took the dead ole Hickory down. This was just a DROP job, all they had to do was to drop the trees on an empty lot. I'm sure this is why it was so inexpensive. They came for 2 trees the other a small Tulip Popular that was rotting at the base. While they were here we decided to have a leaning Pine Tree taken down as well. They were terrific, very professional and upfront about all costs. If I ever need any more trees taken down, I will be calling Phillip with Wysong Tree Service!!

I purchased one of the deals on Angie's List for $200 worth of work for only $99. They came out on the Thursday prior to them actually doing the work to appraise what needed to be done and quote a price. We were told it was actually going to be $400 worth of work. We asked if we could just go online and purchase another of the $99 deals and were told it wasn't necessary, just to give it to the guys that were coming to do the work on Monday. The guys showed up early on Monday to do the work and did a great job, but when we handed them the extra $100 for the service, they were confused and said it was another $200. The guy that gave us the quote wasn't with the workers and it wasn't noted on any of the paperwork. I called the guy that came to do the assessment and he gave me some story about how we must have misunderstood. So we ended up having to pay them another $100. We were happy with the work they did, but I was not happy about the shady dealing with the cost. For that alone, I wouldn't hire them again.

I'm kind of a disappointed a little. It didn't seem that much for a few hundred dollars. More so when they first came and the guy first started talking and he said "Yeah, we can do that for you. I just feel like it's going to be $600." I guess they're fishing for more money and doing more work. I said "You didn't say anything in your little thing. It was just for $200 worth or work." The eight trunk branches weren't huge branches, they were smaller sized branches in the tree. I paid $100 to get $200 worth of work. There were no messes left. I felt like they should have stated in their thing about which services would cost a few hundred dollars. The guy who came was very nice. I have no problems about that. I would probably not use them in the future.

They did a good job. They were there when they said they would be. They did a good job and cleaned up well. The price was more than the "Big Deal", it was a big tree, I didn't expect them to remove it for $200. What stood out about them was their promptness. They cleaned up well.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out great. I liked the attention to detail, when they first came over, we looked at 12 trees which had lower limbs growing back, and that is all that he was supposed to do. But the other day, I noticed that there was a lower hanging branch that had been removed, I have 18 oak trees and he basically touched just about every one of them, and that wasn't what we had talked about. He went above and beyond the price that I had paid. They were expensive, but they did a good job. I had them quote on other things, and they are quite high. I need 2 trees taken down, and that is what I was taking bids on. I paid more than the big deal price, because of the number of trees. I knew how much I was going to spend because they told me, but I think they did an awesome job. I had a couple of tree services working on these tree issues and their quote was 1500 Dollars was higher than the other highest quote that I got, and so I probably won't be using them for that. We had a missed start and the guy was very apologetic, but they were there when they said they would be, and it was pouring rain, the day they worked, and they still did a good job. I can't say anything bad about them.
