Morgan came out to give me an estimate the same day I called him. He is young, but he pointed out that he has been immersed in the paving and construction business since he was about 9 years old. He said they could start the work the next week. On the first day that they were supposed to come, he called and said they had some equipment problems and rescheduled for later in the week. They came out on a Thursday morning and did most of the digging and patching. The next morning they finished the patching and left. He called a little later and said they would come back that afternoon to do the sealcoating. He completed the sealcoat in about an hour. He recommends not driving on it for 48 hours, so we had to work around that for the rest of the weekend, but now it is much better. It isn't perfect, it would have been better if we could have afforded to repave the whole thing, but I am satisfied with the results. The only complaints that I have would be: 1. They did damage some large areas of the yard with the bobcat, but that is probably hard to avoid. 2. They also spilled diesel fuel (they use it to clean their tools) in a couple of spots in the yard. 3. He got a little bit of black "overspray" from the sealer on some of our decorative items that were next to the driveway. If I had some warning, I would have spent more time moving things back from the driveway to prevent this. Overall, though, considering the cost, the quick service and the end result I would recommend Morgan for your asphalt driveways.
Description of Work: I have an asphalt driveway about 560 feet long and 11 feet wide that had some severe neglect. It had huge areas that had deteriorated and the asphalt had evidently never been sealed. The asphalt was 25 to 30 years old. Morgan was the sixth contractor that I had contacted to repair it and was only the second one to give me an estimate. The other estimate was over twice as high. Apparently, most contractors don't get too enthusiastic about residential driveways, since they can make a lot more on commercial projects. I wanted to have the driveway repaired instead of repaved to save on the cost. He tried to talk me into repaving over the whole thing but that would have been nearly $10,000.
