SOUTHERN HOME FLOORS

We are extremely unhappy with our tile installation. We have had to hire additional plumbing work to be done as the shower fixtures were never caulked in, the plumbing behind the shower wall was left unanchored, and water poured into our basement. The hot and cold water are reversed. The tile is just awful. We ordered high quality Hakatai mesh backed glass mosaic tile to be installed from the tub rim all the way to the ceiling. The walls they installed are badly bowed, the tiles aren't straight, and the corners/edges wave around and are caked with grout. There are places where grout is missing, some spots that stick out over 1/4", and tiles that are sunk down into the grout. We are just sick about this because we do like the floor, and it would be destroyed if we have the shower tile redone. Additionally, the materials were costly, and having to pay to have the whole thing redone is just not possible for us. Ed assured me he was experienced in installing this kind of tile, but apparently either he was untruthful with me, or he truly thinks this was a finished job to be proud of. I admit I just went ahead and paid them so I could wash my hands of the matter, but I regret that and looking at this tile job during my morning shower makes me very unhappy. He did an excellent good job. He was very helpful and did quality work. He returned some tile for us that did not fit. He took a picture of some other trim by phone and I agreed. He is very trustworthy; I even left them with the keys for my house to do the work while I was away. He and his assistant were so good to work with. They did a good job at cleaning up after themselves as well. I would use them again and recommend him to others. I don't think anyone could have done a better job.
