Sexton Roofing

Alan Sexton came one evening to give me a quote which I promptly accepted.although we were still unsure of the color shingle we wanted. (Price was significantly better than another quote I had received, plus Angie's List indicated that Sexton Roofing had highest rating in my area). Alan's display samples were not large enough to make a judgment. I asked Alan which of the sample shingles his experience would lead him to think would work. He demurred doing this, but suggested four he thought would look good with the brick on our house. He offered to bring us several full shingles for each of the four he thought might be appropriate plus a pair of shingles that would most closely match the existing shilgles. The next day, Alan brought the sample shingles from which we chose the one we thought looked best. This was very helpful. Work was scheduled. Crew showed up at 8:00 AM as they indicated. Alan personally oversaw (and participated) in the job. Almost finished in one day, but the high winds that day slowed then down slightly. Cleaned the gutters to make sure no nails might have rolled in. Cleaned year and swept parios and driveway. All my neighbors have commented about liking the new roof. We are extremely pleased with the color and dimensional aspect.

Allen Sexton arrived at the agreed upon time to give us an estimate. He climbed up on the roof and examined every part of it and took his measurements. After we decided that we were going to engage Sexton Roofing, he was at our house at the designated time. His crew spread out tarps in order to collect the debris from the old roof. The crew began removing the old roofing a section at a time and replacing that section with 30-pound felt and GAF dimensional HD fiberglass shingles. He also replaced the two electric vent fans and pipe covers. It took him only two days to complete the roofing job. Allen Sexton, himself, was on the roof working on the second day (the first day, he had to go and give and estimate to another customer). As the job progressed his workers were cleaning the debris away. The roof looks really great and appears to be a top-notch professional job. After he completed his cleanup, his gutter person came and took measurements and provided an acceptable estimate. Then, the gutter folks arrived at the agreed upon time and in two days had stripped off the old gutters and downspouts and replaced them with the new gutters and downspouts. Almost immediately, they were tested with a couple of periods of rain and they worked perfectly.

Mr. Sexton gave the middle priced bit. He discussed his bid with the adjuster. He called a week before to let me know when he would start. He and his crew showed up right on time. He came back about 8:30 the first night because he saw light rain in the forecast and made sure there were no areas that might let rain in. He and the crew returned the second day and finished the job. They were very careful to protect the house and landscaping.

Our roof experienced hail damage last spring. Two weeks ago we called three roofers in the Chattanooga area. Mr. Allen Sexton of Sexton Roofing returned our call two days later and said he would come by and give us an estimate the following day, which he did. We were pleased with the estimate but decided to wait for estimates from the other two companies. We waited until the next week, but never heard from either of the other companies. We called Sexton Roofing on Tuesday, February 2lst and left a message that we would like for them to do the job. Mr. Sexton called back shortly and asked which type roofing we had chosen and what color. He said he would order the materials and that they would probably begin the job the next week. The materials were delivered on Wednesday and on Thursday, Mr. Sexton called to say they would begin the very next day. He and his crew of approximately ten men showed up around 9 o'clock. They finished the front part of the house on Friday and returned on Saturday to complete the job. The men worked steadily all day. I never saw them standing around doing nothing. They were friendly and polite. The roof looks wonderful and all of the trash and debris was removed. I am very pleased with Sexton Roofing Company and would not hesitate to recommend them.

We were very well pleased with them. They were extremely nice. They called me back the same day when I called to give me an estimate. They told me they were quite busy and could not be here for couple of weeks, which they were, but then they came and did the roofing. They seemed to know what they were doing. They were very accommodating. I would say their price was reasonable for the size of our roof. They were very professional. They told me when they will be here and they showed up on time. I would recommend them to others.

You might find someone to do the job for less, but it generally is true that you get what you pay for. Roof looks great. Price was only slightly higher than the estimate, which was not a surprise, as this was an old roof and I anticipated there were some spots that would need additional plywood.

They described the services they would provide: inspect, document any issues, and note the cost associated to repair. They were able to perform the work in a reasonable amount of time and provided a report with the details.

I had them out to do some work on my roof. Their prices are a little on the high end but the service was good.

I found them on Angies List and they were highly rated. Price wise I thought their price was great. Great quality and I have not had any problems with the roof. As for responsiveness, because there were a lot of tornadoes in the area it took him a while to get to me but I think that that was manageable because he was overrun with work. As for punctuality he was there exactly when he said he would be. Professionally it is great company really a knockout to work with. I have recommended him to several friends. I will use them again.

Let me start by saying I am not one to hire someone else to do my work on or around my property.But this kind of job is to time consuming and involved to try to do yourself.I have not had good experiences with other people trying to satisfy my expectations of how something I'm paying my hard earned money for should be done. Thankyou,Now to the subject. Contacted Mr. Sexton 10/4/2011, Estimate and shingle samples were left in secure place the same day. Estimate was detailed for each step of job,including 5 year warenty on labor and seperate pricing on main house and outside building as I requested. Roofing materials were delivered plenty of time before job date. Mr. Sexton asked for NO up front money before job was started. Work was completed on agreed date.of 10/20/2011. Crew of 10 men arived at 8:00 am and hit the ground working including Mr. Sexton.No lollygaging around.Each man knew his job and did it. 7 hours later including a short lunch break,Job was compleated cleaned up and they were gone. They did not bring me any coffee and donuts, but they didn't ask me for any eather. Thats the way I like it. None of these guys ask to enter my house for restroom or any other purpose they took care of thier own personal needs. New roof looks great, after a couple of light rains and one good one no visible leaks detected. Recived 4 estimates for this job, Mr. Sexton was middle way with 2 cheaper by aprox.$300.00 and one higher by aprox. $400.00, But considering his years in the business,great reviews and ratings on Angies list,an A+ rating at the local BBB and being able to verify his state county and insurance license with the state of Tennessee website. And the fact he actually cares and pays attention to what people say about his company on these sites says a lot.

Estimate was provided within one week. I did not have to be present when the house was reviewed. The estimate was left for us to find in a secure location upon our return home at the end of the day. Estimate listed 6 bulleted items of either work to be done, general description of material, and/or warranty of material or labor. No specifics were provided pertaining to measurements or material quantities. At least one option was noted on the estimate for us to consider. Total cost was provided, but not itemized. A total cost for an option to consider (shingles with lifetime warranty) was also provided. Total cost was within $200 of another estimate; however, both estimates are significantly over insurance's estimate. Will pursue further to determine why there is a significant difference between the potential service proivder's estimate and insurance's estimate. Potential service provider has welcomed all phone calls seeking additional information.

Original roofer had made multiple unsuccessful attempts to repair leaks in the low slope shingle roof. Sexton removed the shingles and replaced them with roll roofing. I accepted this change as the roofing material could not be seen from thr ground. We agreed that the water probably was being blown under the near-horizontal shingles during frequent strong storms blowing directly at the edges of the shingles. The repair was a complete success, stopping all leaks, and has has not failed in the subsequent two years. The roll roofing looked lumpy when it was put down on a cold, rainy day. Sexton said that it would eventually lay down smooth. I was sceptical but with warm weather in the following spring it did just what he said. I wish all my dealings with repair outfits could go as nicely as this job did. My rating of the price as "fair" is only because no one else that I called showed up to quote so I had nothing to compare it against.

Very professional in all aspects of the job, from setup through completion. He returned promptly to correct a malfunctioning fan.Very pleased.

I had a very positive experience with this company. Mr. Sexton kept me informed and was on site during the whole process. The job was finished in about 3 days. They cleaned up after themselves. My roof looks fantastic and all the water is now going where it's supposed to! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof. :)

This is a great company to work with! From the beginning to the end, we experienced great customer service and excellent workmanship!! Meeting with Mr. Allen Sexton the first time to get an estimate ,he exuded integrity and immediately provided us with a confidence in him and his company. His kindness coupled with his professionalism gave us confidence to hire Sexton Roofing and the end result was fantastic! They arrived on-time, did great work and were very thorough in every detail right down to the clean-up process at the end and I would hire them again without a second thought!

The roofing materials were delivered on Wednesday and I called and the crew came out the next morning. I had to go to physical therapy around 10:00AM and when I returned they had finished, cleaned up and gone to another job. Mr. Sexton left a message for me to call and let him know when we returned and he would arrange a time to come by and get payment. They did a fantastic job. The only comment I could give is the cleanup. There were a few empty roofing bags, one on the roof of my back porch, a few roofing nails and other debris, but for the most part, cleanup was good.

I was very pleased with them. They were very timely and I don’t have any complaints. We had a lot of rain around that time and there were some delays that were unavoidable, but they communicated with me very well. They kept me updated each time when there was a delay. We had tornadoes.

We liked that they had a guarantee. We also liked their price. There was a couple of minor mistakes but they came back and promptly corrected them. We were satisfied with their services. They were just phenomenal compared to Home Depot.

I am very pleased with the work done on my roof. They were on time and worked steadily until lunch, after which they resumed work. The job was completed in less than a day and looks great! They cleaned up after themselves, which is important since I have 2 dogs. I highly recommend them.

After frustrating efforts with another contractor, I called Sexton Roofing based on the ratings on the site. Left message and got a call back in minutes. Allen's wife said she would have him call that evening bye did promptly. I explained my problem and we agreed upon a price and he would come the next day bArrivex on time and work was completes quickly and as agreed. What an improvement. I had been strung along by another contractor for two months! Highly recommend Allen!

I called Sexton Roofing Monday morning Dec 6th and explained that my house had sold, and I had minor repairs needed before the final walk-through and closing, which was fast approaching. I further explained that I had arranged these repairs in November with a previous roofer who made multiple promises of job dates but never showed up, and I needed someone who was true to their word, someone I could count on. Here it is, Dec 8th, and my repairs are done just two days after my initial call to Allen Sexton, and for less money than the previous roofer's estimate. Sexton Roofing obviously understands what customer service really is, they live up to their word, their estimates are fair, and I will go out of my way to refer them to everyone I know. This is a true professional. THIS is the roofer who deserves the honors!

The company showed up for the estimate promptly. When I agreed for them to do the work, they arrived when they said they would and completed the project in the two days they said it would take. When they left, they cleaned up all debris and other that there being a new roof, there was no evidence that they had been there.
