Scenic City Homes

I had quite a poor experience with Scenic City Homes.  While Perry Birger is very nice, I was exceptionally disappointed with the quality of work done as well as the professionalism of the company in general.  On a positive note, when I first called Mr. Bridger, he came right out and gave a detailed professional quote.  However, he didn't start the work when he said he would, or finished it when he said it would be done.  The work itself was poorly completed.  On one hand I don't directly fault Mr. Birger for this, but at the same time, he is ultimately responsible for who he hires. Obviously, when using a contractor, the work is only as good as the quality done by his employees.  He did tell me he would be on the site supervising every day.  But he only time he came to collect the money.   In fact, I was pressured into paying for the work before it was complete.  Which clearly was a mistake on my part for agreeing to this, but he and his assistant came to my house without my husband there.  Indicating they needed the money in the bank that day.  It was an extremely uncomfortable situation.  And there were so many other little things.  Just for example, the work ended up costing more than the original quote, including a credit card charge that they never told me about.  But the main thing I was unhappy with was the quality of the actual work especially the hardwood floor installation, the drywall and ceiling repair and the painting.  I will say that I am happy with the electrical work.  But this was done by a subcontractor, not Mr. Birger and his employees.  I would certainly not recommend Scenic City Homes to a friend or neighbor.
