First of all I used this plumber to do my rough in and finish plumbing in my office back in 2008. No problems what so ever. After using before I had no doubt that I wanted to use him for my new home construction. In the beginning everything went well, we met and discussed exactly what we wanted and expected. At that point he made comments that things were slow in the industry which they were. After a few weeks we sensed he was rushed and was not happy. Particularly after he installed the shower surrounds on an outside wall with NO insulation. His exact reasoning was that he didn't do insulation. But if he had let anyone know when he was doing them then we would have made sure the outside walls were done. Mind you insulation was no where near getting done in the entire house at that point. In addition, he punched a hole in my encapsulated crawl space for the sewer lateral in the wrong place where there would not have been enough fall to the street. He also ran the sewer pipe over my liner for my crawlspace and the water lines under the liner so sealing up my crawlspace would have been an impossibility even though he was made VERY aware of what we intended to do in the crawl space. After finding numerous issues we tried to contact him and find out when he was fixing various issues he had created. He became very angry when we texted him and finally after speaking with him found out he did not want to be contacted after 6pm...mind you there was never any mention of his mom being sick and that he did not want to be contacted as late as 8pm. Maybe if he had returned any of our calls during the day there would have been no need to contact him in the evening but during the day he would never get back with us... especially after he made mistakes. So, the saga continues....later that week when he is at the house he tells our builder that he has "other" contractors that want him and that when they say jump he says, "how hi" and that we are not "repeat" business. That pretty much sums up this poor excuse for this third generation plumber's character. At this point we had no idea of his intentions so my wife trusted him and had paid his bill when he sent it. He played us just long enough to get the check cleared. Later that week he emailed and said we had a personality conflict and that I micromanaged him and he would not complete our job. Translation: I screwed up a bunch and I won't get paid to fix the mistakes I made. I guess when you make someone fix their mistakes they consider it micromanaging. Also, if we had a personality conflict why did I hire him a SECOND time...? Here is the list so far he messed up in our brand new house: Cast iron drain pipe from the second floor between the walls is not between the walls so now the sheetrock in our stairway going upstairs bows out into the hallway. He put the drain line out the side of our house when it should have been run out the front. He cut a hole in our roof in the wrong location for the venting of our water heater. This is after we met with he and the HVAC person and agreed it needed to be put in a specific place. Maybe I should have been there to micromanage him. Numerous leaks throughout the house. All of above had to be corrected by new plumber. Even the Chief Plumbing inspector for the city could not believe what a shoddy job he did and was adamant about helping us get some of our money back. We did get some back but didn't realized at the time just how much he messed up and what the new plumber had to charge to fix it. In reality he owes us over $1000.00 above what he paid us back. To top it off he told us our permit was waaaay more then it was. LIAR. The man is a CROOK and should never be trusted. Update as of 8/20/13: Patton Plumbing...the gift that keeps costing... Had to cut into the walls on both our tub stalls, found after trying to install the tub spouts that the copper pipe behind the walls was not blocked properly. This made the tub spouts move all over the place in the tub. In addition the venting and air intakes that Mr. Patton installed in our roof are too close together. Now we have to pay a roofer to relocate the 3" intake and 3" exhaust pipes in two different locations. Apparently this plumber cannot read blue prints as our toilet flanges are not placed with the correct spacing off the walls. Flooring is already in. :((

Mike Patton is an excellent plumber. I have used him in the past. He is a very honest person. He does great work. He is a third generation plumber in his family. He is very reasonably priced. I would use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Last year I used Mike Patton to extend a gas line in my home.
