Northgate Doors

Northgate Doors replaced my garage’s double door with an insulated Hormann door, installed a high lift to raise the door to within 12 inches of my 12 foot garage ceiling and installed a new torsional opener. (So the door’s Jackshaft is rotated by the opener rather than a center opener pulling/ pushing the door). When open, the door is completely out of the way and there is no opener in the middle of my ceiling either. Nothing blocking my garage lights or ceiling fans. Installation took 1/2 day. Working with Northgate was painless. They were very professional and not pushy like another big garage door company in Chattanooga.

They did a very good job installing the doors and opener. I felt very comfortable with the technicians working around my tools and equipment in my basement.

The garage door installation was done very well and we were pleased with the result. The entry door installation went well with the exception of the exterior finish and a streak in the window that will require replacing it. We had a wood colored door so I guess the frame had to be stained to match, therein lies the problem. Long story, short version. They did not tape so the stain wound up on the house in two different colored areas. After 3 trips to the paint store and approximately $50 later I had the right color paint to point up around the door frame. It was not hard to fix, but I didn't want the perps who did it to fix it, one last thing, when I emailed them about the streak in the window, the reply opened with "I wish we lived in a perfect world. . . ". Mr reply was in my world they would have checked it before installation.

Shane was supposed to be there between 10 & 12. He called when he was on the way. He got there about 11:02. He was very professional, and once the decision was made, got busy & completed the job.

Northgate Doors did a terrific job! This is a replacement garage door for a house I am selling. They came out and measured for my new garage door, ordered the color I needed, and confirmed the install date of August 21. They called a couple of days ahead of time to confirm that the date/time was still good. They arrived promptly and took down my old garage door, including tracks and springs. They installed a new garage door, including new tracks and spring. They left my garage in clean order. My new door looks so nice! Northgate Doors did not have a special on their doors, but Angie's List customers were given ten percent off. We printed the coupon and they honored it. We will be building a garage at our new house, and I will definitely call Northgate Doors when the time comes to have doors bought and installed.

Okay. Sam arrived within scheduled time frames both times. Tidy, quite and cleaned up his mess. Only problem. Got wrong panel first time and could not come right away to replace.

I have used Northgate Doors before and was pleased with their service and quality. I requested a quote on a replacement garage door back in November, 2014. I told them that I would probably decide on whether to go ahead or not after the first of the year (2015). They were fine with that, held their price and gave me a 10% discount. The door was scheduled for installation in February and they arrived on time, did an excellent job, including discarding the old door.

All work was performed on time. The workers were pleasant and efficient. Clean-up was thorough.

Very professional, had new openers on truck. We discussed alternatives. He said Linear not cheapest, nor most expensive ? but it was quickly installed, very quiet, looks neat.

They were the 4th company to come out over the last year to give me a quote. Their quote was way under the other quotes we got. He cut me a deal on doing both doors, and they did a great job. I could not be more pleased. Another highy recommended company quoted me $750 to fix my garage doors. Northgate quoted me $300, and didn't try to sell me on things I did not really need. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The job went very well! Mr. Nicely showed up at the time of our original appointment to give me an estimate and also showed me various grades of doors taking the time to explain the "R" value and the benefits / disadvantages of the various products that their company carries, etc. I received prices from 2 other vendors, but, decided to go with Northgate Doors, even though they weren't the lowest bid, but, because I felt they offered the most for the money. The installation was scheduled in advance and the morning of the installation they showed up and had the entire project completed in around 2 hours. I LOVE my new door!! It is quiet. has features that my old door and closure didn't and I would not hesitate to recommend Steve Nicely and the folks at Northgate Doors to anyone who is in the market for a garage door.

I got quotes from three different garage door companies. Northgate Doors' quote was very detailed, with all the different options broken down. They left me a sample of the garage door exterior material and color (which was a perfect match to our house). The door was installed when and as promised. When finished, they explained the various features of the opener and left me a can of lubricant spray to use on the springs and door hinges every 6 months. It was a very good experience from start to finish and I would recommend them.

I am very pleased with the service. The service technician was very prompt. I contacted the company on a Monday. They offered to come the next day. I arranged to meed the technician first thing Wednesday morning. He called around 8:30 and told me he would arrive in about 30 minutes. He was on time with all the parts necessary to get the door to function. Since I already knew the door was damaged, I asked the technician to get me an estimate to replace the door. A sales person called the next day with a "lock and key" estimate. The Hormann Brand ( a German Brand) seems to be their door of choice. The doors are made in a plant in the USA. The estimate for two new 9 x 7 doors plus one new garage door opener was $1575. To get insulated doors with an R7 is an additional $300. The garage door opener they like is the Lanier. The salesman offered to meet us at the shop on a weekend if necessary. He also offered to send samples do we could match the color with our house. We are now waiting on the samples. The repair job was excellent! The technician was also very neat and he cleaned up the broken parts. My experience so far is very positive. I felt like the technician and the sales person answered all of my questions throughly and honestly.

A manager from the company came to a scheduled consultation (on time) and went over my options and listened to my ideas. He helped me select the proper door for my needs without trying to upsell me on a more expensive system. The installers were very prompt and efficient. They removed the old (40 y/o) system and replaced it with the new Door we had agreed on. They also replaced some wood that had been damaged. I was very pleased with the company and would use them again. I will give the company a 10!.

on purchase of door opener- w/ installation, men came and said too much trouble. Then called Northgate doors and they had no trouble installing.

I called Northgate Electric Doors on Monday to report one of the springs on my double-wide garage door had broken. After asking a few questions regarding the type of door, which spring broke, etc. I was given an estimate over the phone of $145 and asked if Thursday afternoon would be a good time to have someone come out and do the repair. I confirmed the date and time. The repairman showed up Thursday afternoon right on schedule and had the job done in about an hour. He was very professional and courteous and the final bill was exactly the price I was quoted over the phone.

The installer arrived on time worked alone (which surprised me) but was very efficient, polite explained the operation & why he did what he did. Removed old door & cleaned up. Good job!.
