I was told by the office worker that the fee for an estimate for the above job was $59.00. The serviceman checked my water line under my house and pushed a stick in the ground to determine where the tank was located, this was done in about 20 minutes. He then spent 20 more minutes in his truck putting the estimate on the computer. He then advised that the charge was a total of $185.00. When I advised him that was not the amount confirmed by his office, he said, the person was a new employee. That is false advertising and I would never pay that much for an estimate, even if it comes off the project amount, which he advised me that it does not! I would never recommend this company. I am out of $185.00 and I still have to find another company for the job.

Not well. I supplied the faucet but if it was bent why did they install it?
Description of Work: Outdoor faucet replacement. Had Metro install a faucet one year ago. The faucet was apparently bent. I supplied the part so no warranty. But they offered a discount to replace one faucet of only $243. No thanks. I won't use them again.

On April 9, 2015, my husband and I went to Metro Sewer to ask for their copies of receipts for work they had done on my home because I was preparing to put the home on the market. The owner, Mark Hardin remembered me as I was a repeat customer and had used them on December 10, 2013. Drew Hardin gave me a copy of that receipt from 2013. They said they could not find the original receipt from 2008, but gave me a copy of what they used for their accounting records which stated ?Installed Sewer Line from tap at the street to house cut loose all old plumbing under house replumbing with sch 40 PVC cut waterline and rerouted to meter.? At that point, my husband and I informed Mark and Drew that the kitchen had not been re-plumbed as stated on the receipt. Mark said he would come and look at it after a meeting. Mark Hardin and Drew Hardin came to meet my husband and I at the house to inspect the kitchen. My contractor, also came to meet with them. Before entering the house, Drew gave me the bid receipt, which had no estimate of cost on it. He said that the bid was only to connect to the sewer and that they still could not find the original receipt. When they went in the kitchen, Drew Hardin said, ?I know this looks bad.? They both proceeded to say that the bid was not to re-plumb the entire house and it was only for the bathroom and to connect to the sewer. They said that $3800 was too cheap to do the entire house. My contractor questioned this saying a standard price was $350 per fixture. They still said the price was too low for the entire house. My husband questioned why the bid and the accounting receipts were different. Drew said the accounting receipt was entered in by a bookkeeper and she was not knowledgeable about the work performed and just choose from a list of options in the accounting program. They said the kitchen was not accessible so they would have had to rip out the floor to do the job and that would have been much more expensive. I told them, if that were so, they should have informed me that they could not access the kitchen and given me the choice to rip out the floor. I told them if I was already paying $3800, I would have paid the additional cost to prevent any future issues. However, if I had been given the information and did not want to proceed, they should not have charged me the full amount for work they did not complete. Drew said without my original receipt, they would not take any responsibility for fixing the damage or installing new plumbing. Drew said that a lot has changed with the way the company operates now. He said they would be out of business if they addressed every claim without receipts. Drew said if my original receipt stated that they were paid to replace all old plumbing, then they would be 110% responsible for repairing the damage and re-plumbing the kitchen. They both refused to do anything to make restitution without the original receipt. That same day, my husband and I drove to Atlanta to look for the original receipt. I found my original receipt and it stated the same thing as the one they had given me from their accounting records. It states, ?Installed new sewer line from tap at street to house, cut loose all old plumbing under house replumed with sch.40 P.V.C cut waterline and rerouted to meter, underground.? We drove back to Chattanooga and went directly to Metro Sewer with the original receipt. We arrived at 4:45pm to find that the office closed at 4:00pm. I called the office number and asked for Mark Hardin and was told that he was gone and they would re-open Friday morning. We went to meet the contractor at the house. He and his crew began the process to rebuild the kitchen by mixing and setting concrete pillars to support the new joists. While we were there, I missed a call from Mark Hardin. He left me a voicemail saying to give him a call back. When I heard the voicemail around 6:30pm, I called him back, but he did not answer. On Friday morning around 9:00am, April 10, 2015, I called Metro Sewer to talk to Mark Hardin. I was told he was out on a job and would return my call. My husband and I met a plumber from another company at the house to get an estimate on fixing the plumbing. That plumber confirmed that each fixture runs around $350, as my contractor had said. After, I still had not heard from Mark, so we went back over to Metro Sewer at 12:35pm. I was told me he was still not back from the job, but they would have him call me. At 3:35pm on April 10, 2015, Mark Hardin finally called me. I told him that I driven to Atlanta and had found my original receipt per his request and it stated that all old plumbing had been replaced. He said he talked to his insurance and they had said for me to file a claim with my homeowner?s insurance and for them to then take it up with his insurance. I told him the work had to be done today, because I had to relocate my tenants and the contractor was there waiting to do the job. I told him I did not want to pay someone else to do a job that I had already paid Metro to do in 2008. He said he did not think he could have it done today. I told him this was his opportunity to do it at cost verses me paying someone else and billing him for it. He finally said he would find someone to do it today and the work would only take an hour to an hour and a half to complete. At 4:11pm on April 10, 2015, Kevin called me and said he could not find anyone that could do the work today. He said he was sorry for the inconvenience, but it would be next week before they could get someone over there. I told him it was an inconvenience because we had both taken a week off of work, relocated the tenants and it had to be done today. He said he could not get it done. I told him I drove to Atlanta to get the receipt as requested and asked how he was going to make this right? He asked how was I going to make it right? I told him this was their last opportunity to do the work at cost or I will have to hire another plumber and bill Metro because I had the contractor there waiting to put in the new floor. He said he understood and that was fine and to go ahead and do what I needed to do. I told him I had been talking to an attorney and this matter was not settled. This is no way for Metro Sewer to conduct business. It is inexcusable that they took advantage of a 26-year old teacher/graduate student and charged $3800 for work they did not complete. Furthermore, when given the opportunity to make restitution, they refused and insisted on the original receipt, requiring us to drive to Atlanta. Once we produced the receipt, they still would not make restitution by coming in a timely manner to install the plumbing they were paid for in 2008 or cover the cost of the damages from their negligence. The receipt clearly states that all old plumbing was cut loose and replaced. This was clearly not true and Mark Harden and Drew Harden witnessed this with their own eyes. I followed step by step what Mark Harden said to do by finding the original receipt and filing a claim with my homeowner?s insurance. State Farm confirmed that this was not an insurance claim and I should involve an attorney. Overall, I have incurred around $12,000 worth of expenses because of the fraud and negligence of Metro Sewer. That does not include the $3800 I paid Metro Sewer in 2008. I had to relocate the tenants and my husband and I both had to use a week of our vacation time dealing with this matter. I had my attorney send Metro Sewer and Plumbing a letter regarding this matter and he got no response. He advised me that I could file a law suit. Why can't Metro Sewer do the right thing without me suing them?
Description of Work: In September 2007, I purchased the house in Red Back, TN 37415. The house is a small two-bedroom, one-bath house with approximately 1050 square feet that was built in 1930. In April of 2008, I had sewer backing up in my bathroom. I called Metro Sewer and was told that I had a septic tank and needed to connect to the sewer line and needed to have all the old plumbing replaced. I agreed to have Metro Sewer perform the work and was given a bill for $3800 for the plumbing. At the time, I was a single, 26 year old, elementary school teacher and was a full-time graduate student. I did not have $3800 so I had to take out a 3 year, home improvement loan. I moved to Atlanta in 2011 and rented the house out to tenants. On Saturday April 4, 2015, my husband and I came to inspect the home because my tenants reported the kitchen floor was bowed and had soft spots. When we saw the floor, we were very concerned. It was very uneven and had several large soft spots. I had several contractors come to give me estimates on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, April 8, 2015 the contractor I choose to go with cut into the floor and found the entire floor and joists were completed rotted. He also found that there was no new plumbing installed in the kitchen at all! There was no PVC pipe connected to the kitchen sink and the old cast iron pipe was not connected to anything! It was just running directly under the house! The entire kitchen had to be torn out that night including all of the joists. I had to relocate the tenants for the rest of the week so the floor could be rebuilt.
Metro was called for backed up floor drains in part of the house. Since the house is older and new to us and it was not clear where the problem was. Metro progressed through several steps and services. The septic tank was opened and pumped but determined to be OK. Then a camera was sent through various lines to visually see where the obstruction was. A main drain line was cleared by snake, and the camera used again to verify the root cause. The final diagnosis was a dip in this drain line creating a place where stuff collects and eventually plugs the line. The next step will be to cut concrete slap and replace several dozen feet of old iron pipe - a service they offer but has not been requested yet. Multiple trips were involved as different equipment and people were needed. They were generally prompt and always professional and careful with the house.

They were very cordial. The man who showed up initially had to wait an extended period of time for the truck to show up and they didn't charge excessively for the wait time. It went okay for the most part but their truck sprayed out a huge puddle of oil or grease on to my driveway. I asked the operator about it and he said it was just water and nothing to worry about. It took several months for the spot to completely go away even after being cleaned with detergent and scrubbed with sand.

Great. They are very professional. There was nothing that I didn't dislike. They came and gave a good estimate. The price was good compared to others who quoted me a higher price. I apologize for the inconvenience we have cause you and the lack of response you have received from our company. This review has been brought to my attention by our office staff and I have made several changes in our process to insure that this doesn't happen again. I also apologize that no one from our office explained the unique situation that we are in with the warranty company and you there customer. Cross Country refuses to give us what is needed to complete the job or pay a fair rate. We have discontinued servicing their warranties claims because they do not allow us to make our customers happy. I will be more than glad to send your $85 service call fee back to you. Please send the address you would like the check to be sent to mark@metroseweranddrain.com. We do not conduct business this way and I would like a chance to correct this issue. Mark Hardin and John Stubblefield went above and beyond for us when we were in need of two separate repairs. The first was early in June we had Metro Sewer and Drain Service place an expansion unit on our hot water heater. John was punctual and he cleaned up after himself! Super great service! And the expansion unit is working wonderfully! The next repair we needed was on our main water line from the road into our home. It was an old galvanized steel line that had become almost completely occluded. We had been losing water service off and on for some time. TAWC recommended we replace the line...and I knew who to call. Metro was originally scheduled to repair it on Friday. The Wednesday before, my husband started digging around the line to prepare for the new line and to decrease our labor cost. It busted (of course LOL) and we called Metro. They moved our repair up to first thing that next morning! John showed up on time again and got right to work. Unfortunately, he and my husband discovered the entrance of the water line ran through a concrete footer of our home! Why would builders DO that? Anyway, John and my husband attempted to get through the concrete themselves and John called for a jack hammer:) Assistance arrived and the concrete was broken through. They helped replace the dirt around the line and did not charge us more for the unexpected labor!! I thank everyone at their company for their courteousness (even their secretary has excellent customer service). I thank them for being prompt and willing to change their schedule to fit our need! I have better water pressure in my home now than the day I bought it! Thank you Metro!!

On April 24, 2014 I had property damage to my windshield. After about two and a half weeks of waiting and leaving messages for the owner, I was beginning to feel that I would not receive a return phone call. On day nineteen, I pulled out the Police Incident Report and used the information to report my damage to Metro Sewer and Drain?s insurance company on my own, within a couple of hours I had a claim number. About 3 months after the installation it became apparent that the array was not properly connected to the main septic drain. There was once again septic water starting to stand in the exact same place as the original problem. I have called Metro many, many times about this and have seen no response from them after 42 months. I would strongly suggest that anyone seeking septic repair work look to some other company.

Metro installed interior-only water heater in exterior location and installed so incorrectly as to void the heater manufacturer's warrantee. Responding to my complaint and after inspecting installation, Metro rep. Offered to supply and install, free of charge, a new "whole house" water regulator valve even though all other faucets showed valve was working properly leaving only water heater as cause of increasing pressure up to 100 lbs. rather than the normal 55 lbs. range. In return for this free installation I would be required to sign an agreement releasing Metro from all future warrantee responsibilities for the water heater. This immediately sent up red flag and I rejected this offer. Rep. Returned to Metro office and I received e-mail from Metro owner offering 100% refund and removal of water heater. I accepted by return mail and began attempting to arrange specific schedule for pick up. Metro set four separate dates and times for pick up and never showed up nor called to change or cancel any of those appointments. Since first contacting Metro until they stopped responding to my communications was the period from Sept. 17, 2013 thru Sept. 27, 2013 with no actual effort at all to stand behind their work or their word. It is now Oct. 8, 2013 and I am compiling documentation, estimates and any other pertinent info for filing of suit in Civil Court to have this situation corrected before true damage is done to our home. We have to routinely open faucets etc. to reduce built up pressure and if we must leave the house un-attended we must leave a faucet running slightly to prevent pressure build up with no release. This is without question the worst provider I have ever dealt with and most strongly advise all potential customers to do the work yourself or just let it leak! I don't think either option could be worse than dealing with this group of incompetents.

This job was scheduled and confirmed to start between 9:00 & 9:30 am. Two men actually arrived 11:30 am. Within 45 minutes of arrival they realized they had wrong type of water heater (these are same two men had personally done estimate on site the day before, verified water heater type, model, etc. at that time). Logically, this is when I would have made apologies for screw up and re-scheduled for following day. Instead, one worker left to return water heater, returning over two hours later and had taken needed tools for prep with him in truck. Before he returned (somewhere around 2:30 pm +/-) worker who stayed behind started borrowing my tools, drill, bits, right angle drill head, extension cords, ladder, etc. so he could begin something. Water heater was being moved from inside location directly outside of same wall for external installation in cabinet enclosure. This required minimal plumbing. Worker decided to install PEX line to the sweat copper lines in my home. No leaks, works OK so far, but. PEX line is not centered in studs, close enough across two bays to actually lay against back of sheet rock. Sheet rock was opened with claw hammer with no attempt to cut straight, easily repairable, lines along studs. Leaving large erratically shaped (demolition like) holes for me to square up before repair (not uncommon in my experience but one of the worst examples I've dealt with for such a small run). I have marked section of wall where no sheet rock screws can be inserted because PEX will be punctured. The 90 degree elbow installed in the corner is not even fully behind the face of the corner studs, actually protrudes beyond face of stud approx. 1/8". Failed to center the water heater inside the cabinet requiring worker to cut 4" hole in top of cabinet, but never put patch over the original, factory cut, hole. Next day I patched this hole in ten minutes with galvanized patch, pop-riveted in place, no leaks! Original vent stack was cut at ceiling and just pushed up through the hole, left un-tethered, hanging through roof into attic while pulling rubber gasket out from under shingles and raising it about 1 foot above roof. I happened to notice t waving in the breeze a couple of hours later and called their attention to need to repair this to prevent leaks. Around 7:00 - 8:00 pm, their men still working when I went out and mentioned that the hole in the roof was now more important than the heater as it was going to be a rainy night. Moments later I noticed the vent pipe was lower in the roof again and the rubber boot was at roof level. Next day I was on my roof, pulling useless vent pipe out and repairing hole and shingling with remaining original shingles, which I told their men about the day before. By 9:30 pm they had given up all hopes of professionalism and simply began asking me for materials and the use of my workshop to "fabricate" a brace for the new vent stack. This resulted in a block of wood, about the size of a men's shoe box, screwed to my gutter with a strip of bandwire as a belt around the vent. By this time my patience was just a memory but I stayed calm, courteous and helpful, realizing that if they could have done a better job, they would have. Plus, it was rapidly heading towards 10:00 pm! Next day I began re-doing their work the best a 60 year old, triple heart attack survivor can do. I have completed repairing their work, installed protective metal plating to prevent puncturing of the PEX line and all is working acceptably, thus far. One final point which I find interesting is that no one from the company has contacted us as yet (approx. 2 month's since installation) to see if the work was satisfactory. Somehow, I get the feeling they already know the answer to that question. This job cost me $2,700.00 and is one of the worst professionally contracted jobs I have ever agreed to. I would strongly advise avoiding choosing this company, and if you do, remember, I had tools, knowledge, workshop with state of the art equipment to help them finish otherwise they had no way to close up and complete this job that night!

We had a bad leak in the basement coming up through the carpet. We went through all the bathrooms turning off the water until we found one that when not used the leak had stopped. We called Metro and they came out a day later, since it was Sunday and not really an emergency. They spent time looking through all the drains and following them to the basement, but couldn't find the source of the leak. They suggested that since we had so much rain lately, it was a possiblity that the ground got too saturated and backed up into the house.I was pleased with their service and will call them again if needed. I was also happy to know that we didn't have to tear into the walls or redo the drains.
Description of Work: Spent a good amount of time trying to find the problem of a leakage from the floor in the basement. Went through all the bathrooms but the leak had stopped days before.

They are poor in response, never came back, never followed up, never good at anything. It was surprising that their service now was very poor and that we had used them before and the service was great. We were just disappointed that we just want them to check and see if we needed some maintenance to our septic tank but they were so unresponsive. I would use them again for the plumbing services but not for septic tank services.
Description of Work: Metro Sewer & Drain Service for septic tank service consultation. The guy that came out was never really sure where our septic tank was and he was going to have some else to call and come out to check but never followed through.
