Langley Roofing

First & foremost, My wife and I are 100% satisfied with our new roof from Langley. Now for the particulars: Communication from the front office, to the estimator, to the on site manager was top notch. We were kept informed at every step of the process. The quality of the work, left nothing to be desired. From materials, to workmanship, we give A++. As far as the crew on site, we had a team of 7. They were there from about 7:00 am to almost dark. And when they left, you wouldn't have been able to tell they were even there. As far as price goes, we might have been able to save a little by hiring "Chuck & his Truck", but as the old saying goes YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Lastly: Because I promised I would, Kudo's to Andrew, and Chas!! You guys were the best, and rest assured, I will be recommending Langley to anyone who asks.

They come the next day after calling to inspect what we thought was a leaking roof. The roof was fine actually had another issue. He called an associate to get his opinion and gave us recommendation on how to fix easily ourselves. Very honest and professional.

I followed up on an email they sent me about an old quote where I asked about their schedule to get this going. After two days of no response I emailed again. One day after that they finally responded but it was an automated notification for an appointment for them to come out to create another quote. I emailed asking what is this about since I wasn't consulted about this appointment and had yet to speak with a human. I had to send multiple emails to understand why I was getting an automated email and no answers to questions. Finally I get an email saying they're withdrawing from a quote. Very bizarre interaction that should have been fairly simple. I enjoyed speaking with the original worker, Damon, who made the original quote, but this email interaction gave me no confidence in their ability to communicate and get the job done, and I'll never know because they withdrew before we even got to that point because of their own inability to communicate.

They came and did a quote very quickly. I kept mentioning to include the soffit. He said he would take care of it too. Had me pay a deposit promptly. After 3 weeks had to call and ask when my roof was going to be done. Came on a Saturday right before Father’s Day. I called and complained that they hadn’t put the moisture barrier down in an area by my office. They came back and checked, which I could not see, and told me it was done. Reminded them about the soffit. It was the whole reason I called a roofer out. After Supervisor who was very kind and assured that it will be done. Then owner got involved and said no as wasn’t on the contract. I had someone else to do soffit. If you want them, I would make sure every little detail on contract, plus get a building permit and photos of moisture paper installed on roof before laying of roof tiles.

Other than the sub overcharging for flashing that was already in the quote and the hassle of phone calls to rectify the overcharge, the job was well done by the Langley crew. Work was performed above expectations.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Read Langley’s contract before hiring this company. Langley Roofing has a provision in their contract that indemnifies them regardless of any and all legal action including and not limited to paying attorney fees for any cause of action on their part for any reason. In other words, you will need to pay their attorney fees even if they breech the contract or any lawsuit is brought against them. When brought to their attention, the response was that this clause was non negotiable and has been used when needed on occasion.

Excellent experience in spite of the long delays due to an excessive number of rainy days this spring. The hardest part was picking what color shingles to use (I hated the drab brown that looked defeated after 19 years) but the staff had some good color guidance and the end result was perfect (a kind of darkish gray) and enhanced the whole look of the house. Using the higher grade architectural shingles rather than the basic flat type that I was replacing also created a better visual experience. The project took a little over 2 days and the team was there from sun up to sundown working hard. I've attached before and after pictures from 2014 and 2017 (and yes I know--the "landscaping" is the next beast on my list!).

They responded to my request for a roof evaluation very promptly. They inspected the next day, and I went ahead and had them repair the areas that were causing problems. The whole process was wrapped up within a week. They were very professional and courteous. Would highly recommend Langley and would not hesitate to use them again. Given the fact that I now live out of state, it is essential that I hire trustworthy craftsmen, and Langley absolutely fits that bill.

I found him on Angie's List. I've only used them once and it was 4 or 5 days after I got their information off of Angie's List. It was for one of my rental houses. They've already quoted 6 more of my houses but I just haven't found the time to have them do them yet.

Extremely well done and the crew was very professional

We had a roof leak after a blowing rain. They came out within in a couple days & gave us a very reasonable estimate. We gave them the go ahead to perform the work. I came home that same day thinking we would have to wait until after Christmas & New Years to get the repair done. Before I could even finish that thought I heard banging on our roof & saw their van in front of our home. They finished the repairs, cleaned up & were gone. Did a great job as we had 2 more days with blowing rain & no leak. Great company that has great people.

I've used them several times to complete my primary roof and then they had some guys that do gutters. So I had them do that. I've been very pleased with them. My shed has architectural shingles so it wasn't too much. But the house roof was much bigger. It was $6500. I'd give them A's. They've done numerous jobs for me. I had two other quotes and wow... One quote was $12,000. And the quote from Champion Windows was $11,500. But golly. They just wanted a ridiculous amount of money. I need have an issue, and they came back right away with no problem.

Great Scheduling was a breeze, the were on time and did great work

The whole experience was what I expect from service providers. When I called them Monday morning at 8:15 am, Sheila answered right away; she was extremely professional, gracious, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. They were out on Tuesday to give me an estimate which was provided by email just minutes after finishing their review of the roof. They were scheduled to arrive between noon and 1:00 but were held up with a prior job. Sheila called me prior to noon to let me know that it would be between 4:00 and 5:00. She was very apologetic in regards to any inconvenience this may have caused, but I was grateful to have a provider be so proactive and considerate. The scheduler called Wednesday morning and advised me that they could have somebody out later that day. The guys arrived right on time and went to work promptly. They were professional and friendly as well. They cleaned up everything and even checked on the overall health of the roof. They walked through exactly what they did and assured if I had any additional questions. Even though it took them 3 hours compared to what they estimated to be an hour (due to the quality of shingle and its installation), they didn't charge any more than the original estimate. Because of how great they all were to work with, I'm signing up for their annual maintenance program. I won't use anybody else but Langley Roofing in the future.

Mr Langley, I am so disappointed that you don't think my $10,000 is worth your time. Since first contacting you 3 months ago you have ignored my phone call - although sometimes you would have one of your workers, that knew virtually nothing, contact me. You have failed to contact me on at least 3 separate times when you had specifically told me you would either call me back or contact me to set a time to meet. You have NEVER told me what materials were included in your bids. You just had your assistants tell me where to go to pick colors. However, there are many different manufacturers and styles. You left it to me to guess which were acceptable. And when I selected a roof style and color I liked then you informed me that you didn't get roofing from that company. I took off work to drive to Cleveland where the showroom is located to see which colors I might like - again guessing which manufacturer and style was acceptable. I find your business dealings to be extremely unprofessional. I have no idea how you were so highly recommended. I feel I have been more than patient. I think now it is time for me to move on and find someone who is interested in my money. Duncan Morris

I have a leak around my chimney. I previously had a quote from Langley before on a roof estimate and liked them after speaking with them so when I had a roof leak pop up, I gave them a call. They came out and gave me an estimate without any problem. When we decided to go for it a week later, they told me when they could get to me - maybe a couple weeks later. I believe we started speaking around the first of December, an estimate was given on the 15th and they were supposed to come out the week before Christmas, weather permitting. They never called or emailed to schedule a specific day or time and I never received anymore communication from them. I finally gave up on them and called around for other estimates.

There were many workers on the first day when they removed the old shingles. The workers did not stand around talking but work all the time. Come to find out our house, built in 1958, did not have felt under the shingles so some of the boards were rotted. The guys replaced the bad boards, then put architectural shingles on the house and installed some ventilators. One of the workers forgot to seal one of the vents so we had a leak with the next rain but as soon as Langley Roofing was informed of the problem, someone came out to repair it. A painter came by later to take care of the water stain on the ceiling. Accidents happen but it was repaired well so we are happy with the overall work. The old deck was removed in one day and the new one went up the second day. The old lumber was hauled off a few days later. All the work by Langley Roofing was very well done and the workers were professional at all times.

A rep showed up to give me estimate. He was on time. He was professional and polite. He gave good advice and was correct in his assessment. The company emailed me an estimate and we discussed appropriate time to do job. The two young men that did the job were great. They were on time. They did a good job and cleaned up afterwards. They were polite and did the job in a timely manner. I would definitely use them again.

Our new roof looks great. Replaced the old 3 tab shingles with architectural shingles which really improved the look of our home. Langley's crew was professional and courteous and did a great job. They finished the house (along with repairs) in one day and finished the detached garage by mid-day on the second day. My biggest concern was the damaged eave and that the repairs matched the rest of our 1930's house. The repair looks great and once it is painted, should be indistinguishable from the existing eaves. Langleys quote was not the lowest we received, but it was far from the most expensive. A recommendation from friends along with another roof they replaced in our neighborhood helped us to choose Langley and now that the work is complete, we know we made the right decision.

Jeremy privided great service from the beginning throughout the entire process. Price quote came within 24 hours and work was completed within the next 24 hours. Price was extremely fair for the service provided

Super simple to deal with...they came out did an evaluation and quickly turned around a quote for my review. I went over the quote with Jeremy on the phone and he explained everything in detail until I was comfortable. The crew came out and was impressive to watch..."well oiled machine". Cleaned up everything and my roof looks great.

I was bathing one morning and I noticed that water was coming from the ceiling, it happened to be raining at the time. I called the company and told him of my problem and stated that the last time Jeremy was at my home I told him that I saw water marks on the ceiling of my bathroom. His reply was oh there's no problem there. He brushed me off. In my conversation with Chris when I called about the current problem with the leak, he told me that it was not raining that weekend where he was. I was confused because just because it was not raining were he was at that time doesn't mean it was not raining on Signal Mountain. LoL. Any way Chris told me that the company would be there on Weds a 8:00 am. On Weds at 8:00, they did not arrive. I called them at 8:22 no answer I left a message. I called again at 9:07 and Chris stated that they were on their way. And he stated that I did not need to be there and that they knew what the problem was, around the chimmney. I said that was the problem before, and I thought that was taken care of. I told them that the problem now is my bathroom, and he said that he knows. Then Chris called again at 9:22 and stated that they would be there within 1/2 hour, so now we are talking about 10:00. So at 10:20 Chris and Jason arrived and they went directly to where the problem was. Chris went in the attic and found that some nails had come apart form the underneath of the other roof at the bottom. I had to leave and they left me a message stating that I will continue to have problems because they do not recommend putting a roof over another one. So Chris stateted that there would not be a charge because of the inconvience that they caused me. The problem was solved and the repair was made. Chris and Jason were very professional. I only wish that the problem was taken care of when Jeremey was there the first time.

Jeremy gave a very fair quote. He and his crew were punctual, did I a quality job and cleaned up after themselves. Very dependable and honest. You can trust Jeremy to tell the truth.....

Jeremy was easy to schedule and was on time to the appointment. He made a detailed examination of my roof and offered to email me a report with everything needed. He was able to advise correct information that was missed by the first roofer that I had out.
