They replaced the battery and did a great job. They left a measuring devise for radon detection as well. I would highly recommend them.

We are very happy with the work that Insulation Unlimited has done for us. Marty is prompt with gathering the info for the quotes and then they are very easy to schedule with. Zach in the office has been super patient with me, explaining bathroom vent hoses and insulating attic entries. We had to add insulation as part of a repair request for a house that we are selling and they accommodated our very tight timelines graciously. I can't recommend them enough.

Great. Very punctual and dependable. All work was accomplished in approximately two hours. No time was wasted with either of them taking smoke breaks or just standing around talking or any other break. No waste of time. Very personable, respectful. Cleaned up any mess they had made. Would definitely hire again and definitely recommend Insulation Unlimited. Owner Nathan is also very personable and always willing to talk to you and answer any questions.
Description of Work: Work done this morning (12/1/16). Punctual. No problems whatsoever. Had insulation blown in attic. They blew fiberglass insulation to bring to R38, installed baffles at perimeter to maintain ventilation and insulated and weather stripped attic access panel. This was all included in estimate.

I used this contractor in conjunction with utility EPB's insulation rebate initiative. Jerry from Insulation Unlimited was responsive and showed up to give me a quote. He took tons of pictures and walked me through my issues and what was required for the rebate. They did their work promptly, thoughtfully and carefully, installing an extension hose on a bathroom fan to ensure it would still vent to the outside correctly. EPB's subsequent audit found no problems with the work done Total cost was $1600 and I priced the materials alone at Home depot and lowes and it would have cost me $1000 in materials plus my time and effort. I received a $350 rebate from EPB so my net cost was $1250. They did the work all in one day, two different crews showed up, one to seal the holes and put in baffles and second crew arrived later to blow in the insulation.
Description of Work: Attic had virtually no insulation and no baffles and bathroom fan was not vented properly. They blew in insulation to bring me to the correct RH value or whatever it is. They first sealed all the holes in the attic including a useless attic fan that was making my ridge vent useless. They installed Baffles as needed and ceiling light protectors/covers in the attic. Then sealed the attic access doors properly

The estimator came by the day after I called to inquire about their services. He was thorough and explained exactly what was needed to seal moisture from seeping up through the existing (haphazardly installed) ground cover that was already in place in the crawl space. He inspected the area and checked the existing insulation and saw some areas that had not been filled. The office called and scheduled the work within two days, and when the crew was delayed on the scheduled day, they called to notify me of it. The work was rescheduled for two days later. Because it wasn't something critical, I felt this was pretty fast work. The men arrived slightly earlier than had been promised and completed the job quickly. It looks very neatly done, and they hauled away all trash; there was absolutely nothing for me to clean up. This is the second time we've used Insulation Unlimited. They were on the list of approved contractors for the EPB energy survey that we had done a couple of years ago and we called them to improve our attic insulation. They did a fantastic job there, too--quick, clean, and thorough. I don't think we have anything left to insulate, which is a shame, because it has been a pleasure doing business with this company.

I used this contractor in conjunction with utility EPB's insulation rebate initiative. Unlike some contacted vendors, Insulation Unlimited were responsive and showed up to give a quote. Good start. They did their work promptly, thoughtfully and carefully, installing an extension hose on a bathroom fan to ensure it would still vent to the outside correctly. EPB's subsequent audit found no problems with the work done (which must say something about the quality of the contractor), and noted they'd done more than required at no extra cost to me. I was impressed by that. Highly recommended and would gladly do business with again.

I contracted Insulation Unlimited to install blown insulation in the attic of my duplex. They also installed vent baffles and foam sealed all openings. The work was scheduled and completed within two weeks of initial contact. Everyone I delt with was professional and friendly. All work was performed to EPB stardards and passed inspection so I will get refunded for half of the expense. I highly recommend Insulation Unlimited for all your insulation needs.

Pursued additional insulation as part of EPB energy program. IU performed an estimate assessment at the house in December. The estimator fully explained what IU could and could not do to address our needs. What they could do met the needs identified by EPB. Upon receiving the final estimate, I contacted IU to schedule installation. The first date available was on 1/29/13, largely due to the number of other EPB situations like ours. They sent 5 people to the house at the predetermined time. They were able to do all the work in just over 2 hours. They were very neat and professional. It was obviuos that they were very experienced in their work. We have been very pleased with their work. The house is warmer, the HVAC runs less, and we received the $500 check from EPB. Overall, I would highly recommend they be contacted to discuss potential similar jobs.
Description of Work: Applied blown insulation in attic to a R38 level, added R11 strip insulation in garage under upper level floors, sealed several openings in both garage and inside house.

This is a new construction home in a very remote area. It has closed foam for exterior walls and ceilings. I compared using foam vs fiberglass insulation inside walls of a new construction for sound control. Initially was going to have them do our garage and inside walls, but once onsite realized they were not going to be putting in enough insulation (2 rows) for the 2x6 offset studs. When they calculated the new quote (double, for less than double the insulation area needing additional insulation), I only had them do the detached garage until I could get more information. I wanted to see the difference in cost for foaming the interior walls for sound (giving much better sound control), doing fiberglass insulation myself, or having them do it. They did such an excellent job on the garage insulating and foaming around openings, that I felt comfortable with them doing the remainder of the job. We decided to have them also insulate the outside porches. They recommended putting baffles in the exterior porches even though they were not vented roofs to reduce condensation. They arrived the day after contacting them and started on the job (took 1.5 days). They did a Very professional job. They foamed all holes and behind rough-in boxes and between studs too close to insert fiberglass material. They did not smash in the fiberglass insulation, there joints were close with few air gaps, and they cut close to boxes (all common causes of poor fiberglass installations). If I mentioned anything that I wanted corrected or added, they quickly complied without complaints. They cleaned up as they went, but still left quite a bit of material around the house (maybe 3-5% of their total garbage). Since this was a new construction, which is a mess anyway, this was not a major issue. They did not foam the baseboard area like they had done in our garage. I believe they are planning to come back after the sheetrock is finished to foam the baseboards and provide a tighter sound barrier in each room. My lack of understanding is mine. It was in the quote, so I know they will do it. The builder may know the answer if they missed this or plan to come back after sheet rocking. I have not asked him. Would highly recommend.

I initially chose IU due to the great ratings on Angie's list, as well as being an EPB preferred contractor. My first contact with them went well, left my number with them for a call back to schedule estimate. Waited two full days for a call, and then contacted them again giving them benefit of the doubt (this is why I gave them a "B" for responsiveness). After this they were prompt to schedule, and estimate was received via email within 2 days. They arrived on time, went right to work, and had the job finished in the 4 hour window they gave me. They had all the necessary paperwork for the EPB rebate program, the inspection by EPB afterward went very well, nothing had to be redone. Received my rebate check yesterday!
Description of Work: Home was brought up to R-38 in attic space with blown in material, sealed off open areas, adding duct venting to bathroom fan to roof, protective boxes placed over all recessed lights and air sealed any gaps into house. Garage ceiling was stripped of old, improperly installed insulation batts and upgraded to R-19 and all gaps into house air sealed. Also included haul away of old insulation.

Personnel arrived on time and explained what they where gonna do, cleaned up after completion and explained all that they had done. Very friendly personal. Before they left ,they told me they had completed all task on the agreement. I signed the paper work and they took no money, and in a few days I got the bill with the TVA paper worked completed, so that they can come out to inspect there work. I am confident this work will save me money on my bills...and I will get a nice rebate from TVA. I had the estimates for insulation last October but could not afford to have the work done until May. I called to see if the original estimate was still good and it was. Two men arrived at the scheduled time to do the prep work for the insulation to be blown in. Then other workers came in to do their part of the project. They installed rolled insulation in really tight spaces. The installers seem to be well organized and each person seemed to know exactly what to do. I hope I don't need any more insulation but if I ever do I will hire Insulation Unlimited again.

I SCHEDULED AN APPT. FOR AN ESTIMATE TO EVALUATE AND COMPLETE ALL ITEMS INCLUDED WITH INCREASING THE R RATING OF MY ATTIC INSULATION TO R 38 AND REPAIR A FEW OTHER PROBLEMS I WAS AWARE OF ALSO. THE APPT. WAS FOR 10:00 AM, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE PERSON BEING SENT OUT TO DO THE ESTIMATE AT 9:50 AM STATING HE HAD TO STOP FOR GAS OR ELSE HE WOULD NOT MAKE IT TO MY HOUSE AND WOULD BE A LITTLE LATE, HE ARRIVED AT 10:25 AM. AFTER THE EVALUATION I WAS TOLD YES I DID NEED ADDED INSULATION. HE PROCEEDED TO DISCUSS HIS PERSONAL LIFE, MAYBE TRYING TO BE FRIENDLY? I WAS GIVEN NO INFORMATION ON WHAT WAS NEEDED, HOW THIS WOULD BE ACCOMPLISHED, TYPE OF MATERIAL TO BE USED ETC. I WAS THEN TOLD THE OWNER WHO IS APPROXIMATELY 80 YRS OLD BUT STILL WORKS WOULD BE GIVEN THE INFORMATION AND HE WOULD E-MAIL A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. I HAD NO LUCK GETTING ANY QUESTIONS IN ABOUT ANY OTHER PROBLEMS OR INFORMATION AND FINALLY QUIT TRYING. I REQUESTED A PHONE CALL TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THE E-MAIL WAS SENT, I DON'T CHECK MY E-MAIL VERY OFTEN. I DID NOT RECIEVE A CALL. THE GUY WAS VERY NICE JUST NOT AS PROFESSIONAL AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED.
Description of Work: NO SERVICES WERE PERFORMED OTHER THAN THE INSPECTION FOR THE ESTIMATE. I CHOSE TO USE ANOTHER COMPANY.

I called Insulation Unlimited because they were highly recommended on Angie's List for insulation contractors. About 2 days later on a Friday, Marty came out to measure the area, and he also discussed what type of insulation R-Value would be best for the job. On Monday morning I received a call from John in the office, and he gave me a quote. The quote was very fair for the job, and I set up a day and time for the work to be done. On the install date, two men came as expected and finished the job in about two hours. They were very neat and did a real good job. I dealt with about four people from Insulation Unlimited, and each person was friendly and knew what they were talking about. They did a bang up job for a reasonable price, and I would without question use them for any insulation needs in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of contractor.

Job went exceedingly well. They were prompt, courteous, and professional from beginning to end. We had an energy audit done by the Electric Power Board, and one of the things suggested was additional attic insulation and air sealing. Insulation Unlimited was among the list of approved contractors, and due to their rating on Angie's List, we chose them to complete the job. They promptly came out to detail the work that needed to be done, and a day or two later they emailed us an itemized proposal, complete with individual prices for each item, allowing us to hire them for as many or as few of the items as we liked. We opted to have them perform all the items and they let us know approximately when they would be able to come out, stating that they would contact us later on with a firm date. Once they came out to perform the work, they were courteous, quick, professional, and very neat with their work. They even vacuumed from my front door to the floor area beneath the attic opening to completely clean up any trace they might have left. I was overall very impressed and will almost definitely be using them again in the future for some additional air sealing in our garage. We originally had planned to have them do this as part of the original job, but due to our garage being so over-filled with items, they were unable to get to all the areas they needed to access. Even though they completed a good amount of work in the garage, they took the entire charge from the proposal off for the work in the garage - even after my husband told them to be sure to charge for the portion they had completed in there. Very, very impressive! I would recommend this company to anyone!

It went quite well. I was very pleased with the project.
Description of Work: Two workers came at about 9:30 in the morning. We discussed the scope of work and it was what I originally specified with the estimator. They had a truck with a hose that was used to pump the insulation into the attic. They put extension hoses on the two vents in the bathroom, closed off the gable vents on each side of the house to make the soffit vents work more effectively. I have a ridge vent on the top of the house and the Aura Vents which increases the draw of cold air into the soffits and out the ridge vents. They blew in about R-30 into the attic. I had placed two thermometers in the attic: one just below the ridge vent and one just above a soffit vent to determine if the circulation in the attic was working properly. There is no power vent in the attic, only convection movement of air. Prior to the placement of the insulation the soffit vent was normally 20 degrees higher than the outside air and the ridge vent would be about 20 to 40 degrees higher than the soffit vent thermometer. After the installation of the insulation and the closure of the gable vents was complete, the soffit thermometer followed the outside temperature to within 5 degrees and the ridge vent rose as high as 60 degrees higher than the soffit vent. This told me that the circulation pattern was working, because I knew the 140 degree air would quickly leave through the ridge and Aura Vents.
