We hired one person to refinish our hardwoods and didn't realize he outsourced the job to someone else. The price seemed reasonable so we went with them however now in hindsight, I would have paid much more to have the job done correctly and in a timely manner. According to the Chattanooga Fire department who came out to one of the fires, they were disposing of hazardous materials improperly. The trash can caught on fire twice and their wood chip bag caught on fire in the front of the house leaving black soot marks we are still waiting for them to clean off. The 2nd fire was in the trash can. My husband put it out while the workers were still here, then it reignited at 10pm that night. I call it "death of a trashcan". It was completely engulfed in flames. One evening when I came home at 6pm, I saw a strange girl walking out of my house. She was not contracted to do work and should not be in my home. I guess it was one of the girlfriends. Then she hung out on our front porch on two different days. They said it would take 3 days per side of the house to refinish. Which could have been accurate if there wern't so many problems. We've called them back twice to fix start and stop marks left in the finish. The second time, the polyurethane dried streaky and runny. We're about to call them back a third time to fix the stop/start marks in the kitchen and to sand down the uneven boards in one of the vents they filled in. They left our job to go to other jobs. One day, one them showed up and left shortly after without doing any work. He told me he had to get to the store to buy materials for their job the next day before the store closed- This was at about 3:00pm. Their side of the story is that there is a problem with the product we selected- Old Masters and this has never happened before. We had to move out of home to wait for them to repair the bad job they gave us. It's been 3 weeks now and we're not done. I need a break before I let them back in my home. We strongly debated parting ways with them, the only reason we didn't is because we took into consideration how long it would take us to find someone else, and what would they charge us to fix the mess. I would not recommend using this company.
