He was on time for pick up. His minimum is $170 and he said he would do all the furniture for that price. He reglued the desk leg on site. My husband noticed that it was crooked that evening. He took the chairs with him and said it would be a few days. I started calling him at a week and couldn't get him for two weeks. When I finally got my chairs back, the crackled chair looked horrible. The repair has glue bulging out of the leg, and the repair is obvious. No touch up. My husband could have done much better. He returned the Haverty's chairs and said he couldn't do anything with them. For the quality of his work, the price was too high. I have used this type service in Birmingham, Alabama, and my furniture was repaired on site. The repairs were so good you couldn't tell where they were. This was not my experience in Chattanooga.
Description of Work: Bombay desk leg re-glued into socket. I have a crackled chair on which the legs are pieced and curved. The bottom of the leg popped. It was reattached and touched up. Two Haverty's parsons chairs were loose. I asked him to tighten them up.

Response from FURNITURE MEDIC
My minimum is $ 100.00 for on site services. Many items cannot be or are better repaired in the shop. I don't usually do repairs on site from more of a time management perspective than my ability to do the repair. I don't want the customer to have to sit and watch my for hours waiting for glue and/or finish to dry. I also provide a warranty that states if a customer is not satisified with my service I will do it again at no charge. I also explain that some furniture may never be repaired to brand new condition. Sometimes a customers expectations are set to an unubtainable measure. When bad things happen to good furniture I can only do my best . I hope this helps explain my view of this issue.
