Have had other companies work on it, but Home Town has done the best work (2 visits). Office staff (Brandy) is helpful and worked with me to find a convenient appointment; technicians (Cody and Jeffery) arrive on time with the parts and tools they need; they listen to understand the issue; left no mess; and most importantly do the fix that is needed at a reasonable rate rather than constantly trying to upsell to new equipment or replacement. I was expecting a recent problem (that we caused) to be a full door replacement. I asked the technician to look at it and if possible to give me a best fix to prolong the life of the door another 1-2 years, and to also estimate a new door. Everything was done just right and the door works great. The estimate for a new door was similar or below pricing from other vendors and I'll use Home Town when the time comes to replace. .

, I called the office and accurately described the work, and received a quote for the work of 280.00. I reverified the total cost and reviewed all charges again, and was given the same quote of 280.00. The service man came out and gave me a higher price . When i told him of the quote i received, he said that it didn't matter, even though the work and parts were still the same. I told him i would not do the work then, and he said that i would still owe him a 55.00 trip fee. I then went ahead and told him to do the work, hoping that the office would correct the mistake later. When he finished, I paid him. Then he wanted me to sign his invoice and I refused. He said he would take the parts off of my door then. I told him not to touch my door as I had already paid him, and for him to leave. He refused, and I had to call the police, who came out and forced him to leave. I then called the local office and related the facts to Tina ( the manager ) and was told that the quote was wrong and that they would not refund the difference. I all of the conversation, she was VERY rude. Needless to say, I will NEVER use this company again Larry Allen

Charged 55 trip fee and 26 fuel charge. Neither fee was disclosed up front when I made the appointment. Showed up on time and made the repair in about 45 minutes. I feel like I was overcharged for the work that was done. the $55 trip fee and $26 fuel charge should have been disclosed when I made the appointment.

I WAS VERY ILL WHEN HE CAME DID NOT FEEL LIKE DOING IT BUT SINCE HE WAS HERE DECIDED TO GET IT OVER WITH. I THINK THE NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE WE LIVE ADDS $100 TO ANY REPAIRMAN WHO COMES INTO OUR SUBDIVISION AND THAT HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. ALTHOUTH HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE HE DID NOT TELL ME HE WOULD BE DONE IN APPROX 45 MINUTE AND CHARGED ME $314. THATS A PRETTY G0OD RATE OF PAY, DON'T YOU THINK. BY THE WAY, I ENDED UP IN THE ER THAT NIGHT WHICH TELLS YOU HOW SICK I WAS AND I SHOULD HAVE PUT HIM OFF.
Description of Work: I would not use this person again. I had a remote that would only open the door so I had to close it by hand. The other door need a slight adjustment. I was very ill when he came and asked for a quote which he gave me as $314 and after calling my wife because I thought it high, we agreed. What I did not know that he finished the job in 45 minutes. All I needed was 2 new remotes which I found on the internet for around $20 each. The adjustment he did on the other door was minor. I was too sick too stay in the cold but like I said 45 minutes from start to finish. I knew nothing about the repair of garage doors and did not know that it was a minor problem. I feel ripped off and would never use them again.

I called at 9AM and they were scheduled at arrival from 12-2PM. Arrived at noon. Took 1 hour to replace 2 garage door springs, 4- 3" pulleys, 144" of cable and 1 nylon roller. Charges were outrageous!!! I was charged $78 per spring - found the same ones online for $13 each. Pulleys were $5 each online they charged $25 each. Cables were $18 on line the charged $75. The nylon roller was $4.25 and I was charged $18. Labor was reasonable at $45/hour. However then I was charged a $55 trip fee and $20 fuel charge. Plus they want to charge 3% if you use your credit card. I had the same service performed on another door several years ago and the bill was $125. Buyer BEWARE!!!!

Did not go well. Very overpriced. Wife just paid the $80 service charge and sent him on his way. Wife stated that's the quickest $80 she has spent.
Description of Work: I got them out to replace a garage door spring. Estimated cost upon arrival was $300+ for one and $600+ for two (which was recommended). My wife paid him for the service call and told him we were not interested at that price!
