Sharper Impressions Painting

Be warned! The owner of this company does not honor their warranty, even when you have an agreement in writing! He gave me the run around for over a year before finally admitting he had no intention of fulfilling their contract

Very good responsiveness early on deteriorated as the job was supposed to be finished. Painting. The good: nice crew, colors spot on, gutter painting, fairly competitive price. The bad: delays initially were understandable given the rain, but then dates were missed and rescheduled often with no communication until well after the no-show day ESPECIALLY on shutter install (see below). Sloppy in terms of the details: caulking, sealing, door painting, drips. A warranty painter came to correct items I noticed, but given these things were not done initially, I'm certain there are details I'm not seeing especially in terms of sealing cracks (no trust on my part). Shutter installation: complete incompetence. The first employee sent to install was rude, short and said he directly said had no intention of the completing the job because it was too difficult. Really? I requested someone different from Sharper complete the job. Second employee hung 1/2 of of 1 window and left the job leaving my house in that state. I received a text telling me I had a bee extermination problem. Again, really? The painters completed the entire house with not one mention of a bee extermination issue. I finally told them I would find someone else. I did. New contractor did an amazing job and completed in one day for half the cost quoted by Sharper. This is no surprise but no bee problems outside of typical nests found around shutters and gutters that were easily remedied. It was clearly an excuse to cover inability, unwillingness and complete incompetence. For these reasons, I will never recommend. Advice, find a better company and make sure they articulate their abilities with examples previous jobs completed.

It went really well. They showed up on time and were extremely detailed.

It was a great experience. We've had Sharper Impressions paint our exterior and our interior trim. The managers and painters have all been very easy to work with and the painting looks great.

I just want to thank Sharper Impressions so much for the professionalism and high quality of work. I work from home and felt safe and comfortable with the paint crew the whole time. They worked their butts off!

Good, but at times it felt they could have been more responsive.

The estimate was fine - the person came on time and got the estimate to me via email within a few days. Once I signed the agreement on DocuSign, two weeks went by before anyone even contacted me to schedule. I was told that the job would be 2-3 weeks out, but I figured someone would call me to give me a time frame after I committed to the job. I called Sharper Impressions and the receptionist was very nice and told me she would get in contact with the person in charge of scheduling my job. It took a day or two for him to call me back. When he called back, he said he could come that morning, however I have a job and need to pre-plan somebody being in my home for a paint job. We scheduled for the following week. There was no call the night before to tell me what time they would arrive. The crew arrived and they didn't even know about the trim job on the outside of the house! I had texted paint colors the week before and they didn't have them. They ended up painting the room and the piping and said they'd have to come back to do the outside work. They never told me when they were coming back. Two days later, I had to call the manager again to find out when they were coming. They said they'd come on a Friday afternoon - never showed, never called. Showed up Saturday morning with NO warning call at all. It was pretty unprofessional and I was disappointed in the customer service. Lack of communication between the person doing the estimate, the service manger who schedules and the crew doing the job doesn't make for a smooth job. The quality of the work was good, but I can't handle the poor communication.

The actual paint job looks good and we're happy with that part. Unfortunately, we have been left with stucco repair spots on our paver patio, which we're not cleaned up. Paint colors were originally painted incorrectly (they painted with wrong colors). Project manganese to team was not very responsive to our issues, when it was addressed it was too late

The project went well once we got it scheduled, which took about ten days longer than I might have expected. Nonetheless, it all went very smoothly. The power washer did his job very efficiently on a Friday, then the painters came a few days later and completed the job in one day. One of the challenges was that the exterior deck had been painted previously with the wrong color by a previous painting contractor, but Sharper Impression's painters were able to return it to match the color of the enclosed porch. Once they were finished with the work they cleaned up completely. We are very happy with the result, and we will keep them in mind for our next painting job.

As per contract, the painters showed up when expected.... power washed, scraped where necessary, replaced wood where needed, caulked and painted. We've got a cedar sided house, so there was a good bit of wood replacement. Their carpenter Rick did an awesome job. We really love the finished product.... house looks great!

We hired Sharper Impressions Painting to paint the exterior trim and stain our deck. Definitely a stark contrast when compared to the last painting company we hired (College Painters). The entire experience, from quoting to cleanup, was perfect. Given that it's spring, we have lots of plants popping up around the house. We requested that they be extra careful to not step on any of them, and not a single plant was damaged. Our deck needed staining on the handrails, and fresh paint on the deck and lattice. There wasn't a single drop of paint on the handrails...nice work! In closing, I can't recommend Sharper Impressions Painting enough. Many thanks to them for refreshing the look of our house and deck!

Job went very well. Crew even moved rugs/furniture around for me. I was a bit unprepared for the amount of work it took to get the job done, but was amazed they got the job done in only 4 days. Every room (walls and ceilings) had plaster that was in very bad condition after 85 years. Crew even had to repair bad repairs done by prior owners. House looks like new now! Hope to use Sharper to do the outside of the house later this Spring.

It went great! The job went smoothly. The job took about 3 days to complete.

Before you book Sharp Impressions you should know their business model. Sharper Impressions only uses sub-contractors. So when a nice guy comes out and sells you on a job, once you sign the contract, you will never hear from him again. We booked Sharper for power washing a trim painting. The painter showed up 3 days late and only worked nights. I have never heard of a painter only working nights. I was called at 11pm on a Friday to let the painter know where a power outlet was. That night, the painter left his ladders against my house. The painter said he would start first thing on Saturday however didn't show up until noon. Less than an hour after he showed up, my screen on my window was busted and it had white paint everywhere. I called the project manager who had to remove the painter and hire a new crew. The new crew was very nice and got the job done on Sunday. If you book with Sharper, be prepared to pay alot for a mediocre job. I would not recommend them.

Took a while to get scheduled because my job was a one-man job. When the assigned painter arrived (late), he decided there was too much taping required and he didn't have enough tape, so he put off the job until the next day. On the following day, he taped and painted, making no effort to keep the paint off the tape, so when he removed the tape, paint flecks went everywhere and the paint lines were crooked all over the hardwood. He tried to clean the hardwood with his paint smeared rag, making a worse mess. I refused to fill out his form to rate his job and I called the company after he left. Sharper Impressions sent out the scheduler to help clean up the mess and he scheduled a different painter to come the next day. That painter caulked along the edges and fixed the sloppy paint job, but was unable to completely remove the paint residue smeared on the hardwood steps. So the quality of work depends on the subcontractor they send out.

We cannot thank Sharper Impressions Painting enough for the professional customer service we received last summer. From the very start when we received the beautiful flyer with a 25% coupon we were excited to call and see what Sharper Impressions could do for our home. Making our appointment for our free quote was as easy as filling out the online form and/or calling the office. Sharper Impressions did not ask for a deposit and payment was given upon completion of the job. This added security is part of what made us confident in hiring Sharper Impressions Painting. Jeff Montgomery made sure to call us an hour before our appointment and was able to answer any and all questions we had on the various upgrades our home needed with its exterior. All our trim, doors and windows were hand scraped and power washed and repainted with two coats of paint . They even filled any and all carpenter bee/woodpecker holes with incesticide and patched them before they painted to further protect our home. We also needed to replace a couple downspouts that had seen better days! Sharper impressions also refinished our deck, which now looks brand new! We could not wait to get out the grill and host events the rest of the summer to show it off! All in All thanks to Sharper Impressions Painting, Jeff Montgomery's help, and his detailed oriented, hard working and courteous paint team I have a beautifully painted home and deck. Everyone at Sharper went above and beyond my expectations and I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and neighbors. We receive numerous compliments about it from neighbors, friends, family, and even the guy who mows my lawn! Sharper Impressions will be the first call we make with any future painting needs!

It went perfectly. They were attentive; timely; matched the colors perfectly; did high quality work; were professional to work with; completed a detailed and thorough contract; charged what they reflected in the contract; the workers were respectful of our property. They were a great choice and we would definitely use them again and would absolutely recommend them to friends and colleagues.

This work was done almost 2 years ago, but I just joined Angie's List so that is why I am just now sharing my experience. This was a complete disaster. The crew didn't show up when they said they would, said it looked like rain but the sky was 100% clear at my house. Maybe it looked like rain where they lived, but they should have called to see what the weather was like at the job site. Took them over 2 weeks to paint the exterior of my home. They painted over everything but the windows - including security stickers on the doors. They painted my exterior doors while they were closed, and painted the weather stripping so that it was ruined. The manager supposedly tried to find weather stripping that would fit my doors and said he did, but to this day it falls out all the time. They trampled my landscaping, splashed paint on bushes and flowers. We came home one day to find they had brought a bunch of their friends over to help, and they apparently had no painting experience at all. Oh, and did I mention, they were using wood stain as my house is entirely cedar on the outside, but did the touch up work with paint instead, which left obvious marks where they had touched up. I don't think the crew had much experience with the sprayer either, as all the sprayed areas were very blotchy and uneven. To this day when we pull up in front of our house it makes us angry that we spent so much money for such a poor job. The manager (or maybe co-owner, I'm not sure) did come out to listen to our concerns and was very nice and professional, but at that point there really wasn't much he could do other than attempt to replace the weather stripping. They did give us a small discount, but not nearly enough to make up for the poor work that was done. They were supposed to completely sand down our front door but just half-heartedly sanded a few spots and then painted over the rest. They damaged one of our gutters, which unfortunately we did not notice until everything was paid for and wrapped up, so we didn't feel right calling them back again. The crew also bothered my neighbor multiple times and told her we were "mean" people because we had complained about their work. I realize it is a bit of a "luck of the draw" when a company uses subcontractors, but I don't think Sharper Impressions has strict enough requirements when hiring subs. I truly question how many houses this crew had painted before mine, because the work almost looks like it was their first one. We paid a lot of money to make our home look good on the outside, only to wind up with a blotchy, uneven mess that is going to have to be redone much sooner than it should be. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

We were very satisfied, and frankly surprised, at the level of service and quality that we experienced. It took longer than expected but that was a welcome tradeoff for perfection. The crew was professional and friendly. They worked WITH us on the details and exceeded expectations. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with their work.

Again, everything looked great. Masking was sharp, edges were sharp and coverage was flawless. Cleaned up each day. They doubted our color choices at first but that's ok. Another great experience.

They did an outstanding job. They were very informative when it came to what they would do and how they would do it. They called to schedule the work and called later to let me know when to expect them. The work was done on schedule and the results are fantastic. They also ask you to provide them with a grade on the work when it's finished and they don't collect until you are satisfied with the job. I would highly recommend them again and I plan to use them in the future for other painting jobs in my house.

They haven’t painted yet, but they have been great so far. They power washed the house before I left. Everything was great. They were very professional. They have been awesome so far. They always answer and call back. They are always available and they are fantastic. They have been great. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

The house was originally built as a Tudor, so it is stucco and wood trim, and it has not been painted for quite a few years. I have got a lot of wood trim, some of which has to be replaced; I chose them because they do that kind of work. Moreover, they offered 25% off on the price. The original estimate was $3500, and I got 25% off, which brought it down to $2640. I think their main location is in Plain City, but I did business with the one in Dublin. I had set up an appointment just to get an estimate. They asked me for my email address, and within 5 minutes I got an email confirming my appointment. On the day of the appointment, I got another email from them; I thought that was really responsive. I have had experiences where people don’t even call me back. They brought the estimate out to me. They had a picture of my house in color. They went through all the things that they were going to paint or not paint. It was in black and white and right on spot. I thought they would go back, figure it out and then come back to me in a couple of days, but they had it right then and there. I was pretty impressed with what they did. I liked them and their price, and that is why I didn’t go with another company that I had checked out. We had tremendous amounts of rain in Ohio, and everything got delayed because of that. They were very responsive when I called them and when they came out to see me. They called to tell me when they were going to do things. They told me that the work would be done in May, but then it rained all the time. They came out and power washed the house in May; again, that was delayed because of the rain. The painting work was originally scheduled to be done last week, but it did not happen. They called me last Friday and told me that since the weather seemed okay, they would be here on Tuesday. They called me this morning to tell me that they would get somebody on the way in an hour. They showed up. We went around the house and checked things out. They did a lot of scraping, caulking and those types of things. The guys who are doing the work are nice. I am busy working inside, and I don’t even go out and check on them because I am confident that they know what they are doing. I decided to point some things out. They were confused about just a couple of things because some things don’t relay just as well in writing. I had one issue about the door, but other than that everything has been good so far.
