Great experience. Bill was prompt in meeting with me to provide estimate. Very thorough review of job and detailed estimate provided including type of paint and caulking to be used and time to complete job. I chose Bill after getting two more estimates. One estimate was higher - one lower. Work was finished in 5 days in line with estimate. I was notified of problem areas found during the process which weren't included in estimate with discussion of alternative solutions. Bill was also very prompt and responsive to questions sent via email and phone. I highly recommend Bill and crew. They showed up prompt each day and worked one Saturday to make up for a rain day during the week.
Description of Work: Exterior paint job on 20 year old two story house - brick and masonite siding with repair needed in several areas. Sealing around windows and repair of rotton wood in areas. Multiple areas of deterioration that were repaired.

Bill was great in working us into his very full schedule. This was important since we had the gutters off our home and wanted to wood painted before the gutters were installed. His Team worked for three weeks completing the work.

Often when obtaining bids, the emphasis is on who has the lowest price. It is only after the work is finished that the true cost of the project becomes apparent. I obtained three quotes from painters represented on Angie's List. Nash Painting was not the lowest cost provider but was definitely the best value of the quotes. To describe them as anything less than craftsmen would be a gross understatement. Their knowledge of paints, application, repair, and attention to detail was beyond expectation, not only for Bill but demonstrated by his entire team. There were repairs I have had made during the past year that later became apparent they were not properly done. Bill and his team were able to resolve each of these issues quickly that resulted in the repairs being as they should have done originally. While they are certainly not the least expensive team, when you look at the quality of their work, their attention to detail, their willingness to go back and do something over until it meets their expectations without any prompting from me, makes me believe that they were by far the best value that I could have hired for this project. I certainly will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and use them again at any point in the future I need their services. My house looks better today, after their work, than it did when it was brand new. Thank you to Bill and his great crew for such care and expertise in this project.
Description of Work: Project included painting of trim, garage doors, metal roofing, handrails, cleaning of a large multi-level cedar deck, staining of that deck along with spindles and stairs. In addition, they replaced rotting and suspicious boards on the deck, removal and new caulking of all windows/doors, repair to poorly hung windows by a previous company, and replacing of door frames that had previously been inappropriately repaired by a different contractor.

I would highly recommend this company if you need any painting and any repairs associated with the painting. They didn't have to bring in another contractor to fix things...they did it themselves and did it very well. When Bill first came out to give us an estimate he told us he would guarantee his work for 12 years. That is a long time for a painter to guarantee their work and I felt like he was someone I wanted to do business with. He would work along side his two other workers. Jon and Roberto were such a pleasure to deal with and by the time they left I felt I had made some new friends. Bill, John and Roberto couldn't have been more professional and pleasant to deal with and they are great examples of the work ethic that disappeared from so many places. I would not hesitate to hire them because they are ethical, hard working and very experienced.
Description of Work: Nash painting was so thorough. First they pressure washed all surfaces to be painted which included all the wood on the house which is most of the surfaces. Plus they pressure washed our shed and even the basketball backboard. Then they removed as much of the old paint and replaced any rotting wood. We had a bush that had done a lot of damage to our siding and they even cut down the bush for us. Then when all the wood surfaces were clean and replaced they painted. They were always working very hard. They also replaced our porch posts which were rotted and made any small repairs along the way. They were here just slightly over a week and I feel like we couldn't find a better place to do business with in the future.

Bill N. came out and walked around the house, pointing out what they would do, what he felt needed to be done, and why. Gave several alternatives for me to consider, what materials he would use. Price was not the least expensive but decided to go with Nash.Glad I did.The workers,(Roberto and John) came out and were very pleasant and professional at all times, even in the heat of July. During the work they suggested little things to improve the look of the house. Both my wife and I are very pleased with the work Nash Painting did and plan on using them again for some interior painting. This is one of the most hassle free, pleasant experiences I have had with contractors, repairmen in years.

Over the past two years, we have used Nash Painting for four projects on our property and one at our church. Each has been performed with total professionalism. We started with Nash Painting with a project to paint/stain the exterior of our house. Previous work had deteriorated and the project required extensive preparation work, including a great deal of caulking, along with some minor replacement work as well as substantial masking. They focused on this as the key to an outstanding job and the results are everything we expected and hoped for. The second job was staining over a mile of four-board fencing on both sides. Again, their attention to preparation (lots of pressure washing) paid off in an outstanding job. Because of their solid performance for us at our house, I asked Nash to quote on a job at our church. It wasn’t a big job in any sense, BUT because it was part of a preparation project for a new pipe organ, the scheduling was critical. Bill recognized that special need and responded accordingly. While it is often difficult to schedule a combination of exterior and interior painting, particularly when the weather is less than cooperative, Bill fully understood the imperative of the church job. No one wants to “foul up” an organ installation costing over half a million dollars over a $3,000 painting job! He treated that schedule commitment as an absolute. Equally importantly, when we realized that the red-toned paint had faded over the years leaving one other area (not previously addressed) looking very mismatched, he offered to get that very small job done on short notice at a very reasonable price (and yes, we agreed!). His final two jobs involved some more fence staining (one section I didn’t have clear for the first job, plus all the replaced boards elsewhere – the joy of horses and board fences …) as well as staining the structural lumber of a new deck and gazebo. The fences were handled without a hitch. The deck and gazebo were, bluntly, a painter’s nightmare. The decking, rails, and bench seats are of synthetic lumber so an inordinate amount of masking and staining care were required to get the treated structural lumber stained without marring the synthetic lumber. Once again, Nash Painting came through with a top-quality job. Nash Painting exhibits total professionalism in everything they do. On the house painting, I “caught” them re-doing caulk to ensure a perfect job. In the deck/gazebo job I have only found one piece of masking they failed to remove out of – thousands, maybe miles – of independent pieces. I can unhesitatingly recommend Nash Painting for all you painting/staining needs.
Description of Work: Exterior staining of house (shiplap s\wood siding). Staining of approximately a mile of four-board wood fence. Staining of deck and gazebo at residence. Interior painting of three walls in chancel of church plus small alcove (315 E. Main St, Murfreesboro).

Nash Painting was a very busy company - and we needed to find a way to get my painting done. So, Bill Nash asked if it would be okay to send someone over on off-hours and/or weekends. That's what we did and he sent us Jon - a very nice young man who is very good!! Everything turned out great!! We are very happy with the work and service provided.

Nash Painting was very responsive, I reached Bill (owner) on the phone and we set up the appointment for the walk-through and estimate of the interior paint job on the house we're buying. We were only in from out of town for two and a half days, and only had a small window of time to be in the home (the sellers had given us permission to come in so we could meet with contractors). Bill unfortunately had a calendar mishap and wasn't able to come at the time we specified, calling me at the moment he was supposed to be there. I know these things happen, and it worked out in the end (swapped with our second paint company who could come early), but it was a little stressful to rearrange. Bill was extremely thorough in his definitions and measurements of the house (approx 3100 sq ft). We wanted trim, ceiling, walls painted. I understood why he was very exact in his definitions of "trim" and "doors" (counting front and back of doors, double trim job for a double open entry way) to protect both him and the client, but it felt a little like being charged for every inch instead. He explained his company's techniques, process, paint type, and so forth. It's true they are using a higher-quality paint, and perhaps would do a higher-quality job. The estimate was very nicely outlined and had great details for every room. The kicker was the price tag. It was WELL over the estimate we received from another paint company on Angie's List (whom we chose)...like almost double the cost. Plus, the time effort of the job was close to 10 days versus 5-6 from the other folks, and we just couldn't justify the actual cost of Nash plus the personal time cost of not being able to move into our house for another five days. I am certain Nash does a great and thorough job for clients, but unfortunately we could not afford their high price. They followed up with us a couple days after sending the quote, and were quite nice about our decision to go with another company. Very nice, polite folks.

Hello Member, I appreciate your comments and will take them into consideration on future estimates. We are quite often faced with pricing issues. I am aware of the pricing of our competition and they serve their purpose to their clientele. Our focus is on the specialized market of customers seeking perfection which our time frame and pricing is reflected appropriately. I gracefully accept that our pricing may be higher and am willing to lose projects so that we may do whatever it takes to serve our customers exceptionally. I am sure that the other company you hired from Angie's list did not let you down, but if they are half our price in most cases we supply a different type of service. I apologize again for the delay of your proposal. It was my error in setting a reminder on my calendar and I refrain from excuses. I am normally very prompt and respectful of our clients schedules and spare time so for that I am truly sorry for the inconvenience I caused you. Thank you again for the opportunity to bid your project, God Bless, and welcome to Nashville. Sincerely, Bill Nishanian Nash Painting - Owner

Very professional and hardworking crew. I was especially impressed by Bill's attention to detail. And I really, really appreciate Bill following me to a house in the neighborhood which was the exact color I wanted, and finding that color at the paint store. Both the back porch and house are beautiful, and the house looks like a new house.
Description of Work: This exterior paint job was divided into two parts, with the winter portion done only on the exterior wood where new guttering would go. The major part of the job was done in April -- to paint a newly built porch and to paint the exterior of the house. The job involved scraping off gallons of old paint on this 75 year old house, repairing rotten wood sections, and a lot of caulking.

I called Bill for an estimate and we arranged a date/time right then. He arrived as planned and asked questions as well as listening to and answering mine. I was having several projects done and over the next few weeks Bill either sent me an email or was right there on the phone when I called, to keep track of when the roofers and window installers were to arrive to get their work done. It all came together as planned, a week later than originally planned due to weather, but I had some other smaller projects to fill in the time, so it all worked out. The Nash Painting team arrived the day after Bill had come over to power wash everything. They started right off taping off with protective papers and covering the tile stoop, driveway and plantings. They were even nice enough to ask my nearby neighbors to move their car to avoid any paint accidentally blowing their way since the days were a little breezy and the neighbors really appreciated that. Everyone started on time, the team kept right on working like a well oiled machine all three days. Even my neighbor, who sits on his porch smoking on a regular basis, commented on what a hard working crew was working there for me. My house looks better than I had expected. My neighbors are all waving and smiling at me since I'm helping keep up my part of the neighborhood thanks to Bil and Nash Painting.
Description of Work: The Nash Painting team painted the exterior of my brick and siding home last week. I could not have asked for better service, workmanship or results. Bill was great at keeping me informed of dates and expectations in working around other contractors such as roofers and window installers. The crew always arrived on time, were very steady, professional painters and always left the area straightened at the end of each day. Bill was a big help when we discovered a good bit of rotting wood around some basement windows and he did a great job putting new windows in place in time to be painted along with the rest of the house. The price estimate was on the high end, but I trusted my instincts on this one and I feel like I got more than my money's worth. This was a very good experience for me and one of the reason's I joined Angies list since I needed a lot of work done on my house.

I picked Bill Nishanian because he was honest and quick to respond. He told me as much as he would like to do the job in this slow part of the year, that he couldn't in good conscience because the wood on my freshly built porch was too green to paint, and needed to cure for a couple of months so that the paint job would last more than just a few months. He squeezed in the painting of the fascia on a Saturday so that we could get the guttering up. He and his partner arrived right at the time they said they would and did an excellent job. Rest of the exterior painting will be done in a month or so.
Description of Work: The service is broken down into 3 different parts. First part is complete and was done to get the guttering and some other parts of the porch complete before winter temps dropped. Nash Painting made an extra effort to get to me before a week of rain was to set in by coming on a Saturday morning. Arrived punctually, completed work, results looked great. Rest of work will be completed when spring arrives. All exterior work.

They arrived as expected to begin work, covered all floors where work would be completed and began sanding areas that needed repainting. The sanding was a big job and in many areas the trim needed to be sanded down to bare wood. Nash is very committed to making sure every job is completed well and they will redo work or resand until the work is completed properly. They even went back to the paint store to replace paint that was not being applied as smoothly as expected. In addition, they repaired some drywall areas that needed patching around our home and did an excellent job on those as well. They completed the job in 3 days as they quoted and did an excellent job. The windows look great and they did a really good job sanding and repainting around doors where our dog had scratched trim. The only minor issue we had was that we wish they had used their vacuum attachment on their sander from the beginning of the job. The first couple hours of work created a white powder the enveloped the entire main floor of our home. However, they later brought back their shopvac attachment and they contained the sanding dust from that point on. They gave us a credit towards cleaning on our final bill also. Overall, we were very pleased with Nash Painting. They are hard working painters who strive to give customers the best services possible. They will not skimp on any job and told us that if we find any problems with their work after completion to call them. They assured us that they will come back and fix any problems. We would definitely hire them again for any painting needs we have.
Description of Work: We received an estimate prior to Christmas for multiple windows where trim was peeling and multiple doors needing repair from dog scratches on trim as well as repainting of entire doors -including front door inside and out. We were told up front that quotes from Nash are on the higher end, but that the job would be completed correctly with no hidden costs or expenses. After receiving our quote, we eliminated a few windows to cut some costs and felt confident that Nash would complete the job properly. We scheduled the job for the first week in January and they arrived as expected and completed the work as expected.

Nash Painting was conscientious and professional. I selected a stain color. After starting the job, my wife and I decided that we did not like the look. Bill worked with us to change the color even though it cost him extra time and work. He wanted us to be happy with the job. His work was excellent, staff was courteous, and the final result was great. No reservations about highly recommending Nash Painting.

Preface: Nash Painting might be a very good company for house painting. Nash Painting declined the job. They were nervous about painting an older house, as the EPA exacts huge fines for each and every precaution not being taken if there is lead paint. However, the paint would have to be stripped to bare wood, to expose the lead paint and present a risk, and that was not within the scope of the work. While I understand their skittishness, it didn't apply to this situation. The EPA was not involved in the project at all. It was not unprofessional to decline the job, as the company was straightforward and polite about it. There were no worries about exposure, though, as the trimwork would not be stripped to bare wood.
Description of Work: We had a conversation on the phone about the work.

We have to admit that we were a bit reluctant to tackle this particular project. The EPA was already involved with the project and their fines start at 25K dollars. We do adhere to their strict policies, but you never know if and when the rules change. Please accept our sincere apologies if this seemed unprofessional. Bill Nash

Bill handled all contact, arrangements, and work oversight himself. He was courteous, responsive, and responsible, with daily phone updates concerning progress and anticipated completion date. After his work crew was finished, he reviewed all the work with me personally and finished up some details for a couple hours himself. The house had not been repainted since being built in 1998, and the final result looks great. There was some delay in the scheduled start date of the job, but Bill arranged for a large crew of workers to complete the work in a few days when originally it was planned for about a week.

Bill and his 2 employees were prompt, professional and polite. They made sure they spent ample time on prep work pressure washing and hand scraping all surfaces to be painted. They even walked around the house with me and pointed out paint markings from a previous paint job as they take pride in doing clean work without spills/drips. Bill broke down his estimate for me, as I requested, into 3 separate pieces - back porch, windows and trim. After his first day on the job, Bill mentioned one of his employees was refinishing a door so I asked him to give me a quote for refinishing our front entry door as we'd been calling around for quotes. Since Bill's team was already at the house each day to paint, he was able to offer us a very good price for the door refinishing in which they sanded and finished with 4 coats. Bill and his team were very attentive to details and used high quality paint, finish and caulk products. All of their painting was done by hand as opposed to spray as we have a brick house and it would be extremely difficult to remove any accidental oversprays from the porous brick. I would highly recommend Bill and his team.
Description of Work: Exterior paint and caulk 39 windows, paint trim on 2-story 4600 sf home including soffets, gables, freeze boards, front porch columns, crown molding and all associated trim. Paint back deck. Refinish front entry door.

Nash Painting was a very professional company to work with. The owner, Bill, first came to my home to take a look at the uninstalled door and frame to give me a consultation on stains/finishes and to decide whether it would be best to finish the door installed or uninstalled. After deciding to finish the door installed we set up a day/time for them to begin after the door was installed. Bill said that they would need three visits to my home, in order for the polyurethane to dry between coats, and they arrived on time each day. The first day, we went over the plan again and his associate carried out the work. His associate was very friendly and didn't mind my cats paying him a visit. Everything turned out beautifully except we noticed a few streaks in the polyurethane after it dried on the last application. I was impressed that Bill came out to my home on a Saturday to personally fix the problem. Now the door looks fantastic! The only complaint I have was that they didn't remove the hardware and polyurethane underneath it. We requested it and the associate didn't feel comfortable doing so. Nash Painting was also a bit expensive but I can understand seeing it was a smaller job that needed multiple trips to our home. Regardless, I would definitely hire them again because of their professionalism and a job well done.
Description of Work: Nash Painting painted the exterior door frame for a new front door that was installed in my home and polyurethaned the interior and exterior of the door. Their services included filling the nail holes, sanding the door and frame, and caulking between the frame and the brick. They also had to match the frame color with some existing trim for which we didn't have the paint.

I have been in facility maintenance most of my adult life and have never seen a commercial painting contractor do such a totally thorough and professional job throughout. Bill and his assistants were prompt, efficient, communicated thoroughly, and worked around our needs to move dogs and horses as each job progressed. Their pickup and cleanup was just as thorough as the rest of their work -- leaving our property looking the best it has in the six years we've owned it. Not only would I hire Nash Painting again, we already have made tentative arrangements from them to stain our new deck when it is completed and weathered enough to hold stain well.
Description of Work: We hired Nash Painting to paint the exterior of our house (cedar shiplap siding) and stain 3,000 feet of 4-board pasture fence. The projects took roughly one week each. On the house, Bill's prep work (pressure washing, replacing broken boards, recaulking all joints and cracks) was superb! His attention to detail was the kind you usually only get when doing the work yourself. The time spent paid great dividends. While our siding is not in the best of shape (varying surface textures) his prep work was key in getting a job that looks great. Even while painting, Bill still took time to fill minor cracks that became visible as the primer or finish coat cured and then touched up the paint job. The fence job was an even bigger challenge. Most of the boards were rough sawn lumber from a variety of species and had everything from creosote to old paint, old stain, and plenty of mold and moss. Bill and his assistant pressure washed the entire fence and spray stained what amounts to over a mile (counting the two sides) of fence taking great care around latches, landscaping, and adjoining buildings.

I had a completely positive, even pleasurable, experience with Bill and his crew. They did an absolutely gorgeous job on the house... paying attention to every detail (of which there are many), taking their time (but not in a bad way), and being responsive and receptive to my questions and requests. I had just had a lead abatement company scrape the flaking lead paint off and was very anxious about the whole process, being that I have two young children. It was important that the painters coordinate well with the abatement crew and also be diligent and careful with their work. Bill was understanding of my concerns and I felt confident that he was taking them seriously, to the point of offering to paint the entire house by hand (!) instead of spraying it, which had the potential for disturbing areas of old paint. Bill was there when he said he'd be there and worked extra on the weekend to get the job done. I can't say too much about the price because I didn't get any other quotes, but for the scope and quality of the work, I feel like a got a great deal. I recommend him whole-heartedly!

Amazing. We had some trouble with my color choices (very rich colors took extra coats on my previously painted but apparently not primed walls). I would use him again in a heart beat.
Description of Work: We had the interior walls of our entire house (minus closets and trims).
