Nash Painting

We purchased a home in Nashville, located on the side of a very steep hill. The rough-sawn cedar-lapped siding had been stained when the house was built in 2000 and was in dire need of help. Being new to the area, we contacted several painters through our local paint shop, Sherwin Williams. Three of them came out to the house, and once they saw the extreme difficulty of the project, (five stories high on one side) every one of them drove off and never contacted us again. Our house was literally 'the impossible paint job'. Through Angie's List, we found Nash Painting. Bill Nishanian came out to the house and gave it a thorough inspection. We talked about the difficulty of the job (huge glass panels, skylights, rough terrain, massive height) and how it would require a great deal of scaffolding to safely access the structure. We also discussed the best way to protect and preserve the siding. We opted to match the stain color, but do it with the finest-quality paints available (thus enabling a longer life). Bill provided a quote for premium primer, plus two coats of Sherwin Williams Emerald satin exterior paint. Yes, the quote was very high, but we knew that the project was extremely complex, and we wanted to have the longest-lasting and best quality paint job we could get. Bill said that he would provide a 'no drop out of place' guarantee ... as well as a ten year warranty. His policy and warranties were spelled out very clearly in his quote. Bill helped lower quote costs by providing and building his own scaffolding. The project started during late fall of 2013, when they prepped and painted the most difficult portions of the house. On the steep side of the house, his team was required to build scaffolding eleven sections high to access the top of a chimney! His painting team was very professional and patiently prepared the siding for paint, often carefully working around huge twelve-foot high glass windows. They needed no supervision on our part and did an outstanding job. The house was half-finished when they pulled off the project for the winter. In April 2014, the team returned to complete the project ... and did so with their usual competence and professionalism. During the Spring work, we asked Bill to grind, prime and paint the huge steel support beams and posts underneath our deck. He used the best metal-etching primers and paints to do the job. At the completion of the project, Bill returned to discuss the project and make sure that we were satisfied with the results. He reminded us of his 10 year warranty and told us to call him if we spotted any developing problems. His final bill was exactly the same as his original quote (even though the project was far more complex and challenging than anyone anticipated). Was it expensive? Yes. $30,000 is very expensive for a house paint job. But we can tell you with certainty that no one else in Nashville could have done (or would be willing to do) the work with the level of care and professionalism as Nash Painting. We demanded the best ... the best primers, paints, as well as the highest-quality work ... and that is exactly what we got. We would hire them again in an instant.

Bid was for cleaning extremely dirty gutters and painting outside surfaces (doors, insets, garage doors, railings.) Bill was certain that cleaning the gutters would solve problem, but when cleaning would not work, Bill offered extremely reasonable price to paint the gutters. Work was done quickly and on time, with no mess. Workers were friendly. I will use Bill later this year to replace some wood on my deck so it may weather before restaining deck next spring. Great experience, over all!

It was fabulous. The staff is incredibly polite and professional. They arrived each day on time and worked the full day. There was bad weather one day and Bill contacted me quickly to alert me to the time they would be there. The team came and discerned they needed to start later because of the moisture still there and they notified me when they would be back. They were back right on time. They even re-worked their plans & delayed working on the garage door until later in the work schedule so my son could put up a sign to ask a girl to the prom. The work took the exact amount of time Bill estimated. I would highly recomend them and will use Nash Painting again in the future.

Nash Painting was a bit expensive, but very professional and responsive to requests. They did carpentry work, caulked and prepped, and then painted the exterior. They did an excellent and timely job. My wife was pregnant at the time, and we asked for extra precaution against chemical paint smells and debris, and Bill and his team did a great job communicating with us and working to make the environment safe. Very much appreciated his attentive to details and our concerns.

Bill came out to provide an estimate to paint our condo. He was very nice and professional. However we did not end up using his services because the cost was extremely higher than any other painter we spoke with regarding the same job. I'm sure Bill and his team do a great job; however it was out of our price range. I wish him and his company the best of luck. No hard feelings and we were able to find another painter to complete our project.

Job done was excellent and had to deal with a difficult property manager and handled it professionally.

This paint company is great. Bill the owner is a great guy and is very professional. He only has one paint crew and they are very well trained. Absolutely great painters and they do not get a drop of paint where it is not supposed to be. Showed up everyday on time and worked hard. All of the painters were very nice and also honest. I know they are not the cheapest but they are the best. I would definitely use them again.

Work done as scheduled. Very pleased with quality of the work. Owner and employees courteous and professional. Price very reasonable, especially considering how high some of the areas were (about 24 feet). Definitely recommend this company.

Everything done on time as planned. Price a little higher than others, but worth every penny. The team packed up everything every evening and cleaned up as they went. Everyone was courteous, friendly and did the work well. I was very pleased with the results. I was painting the house to sell and it sold right away. The beautiful paint job made the selling easier. My real estate agent was also very pleased.

I always have done all my own home repairs and painting and was reluctant to hire someone to do work I always did. i am also very picky and was concerned I wouldn't find anyone who would do the work to my satisfaction. Well, Nash painting did do the work to my satisfaction, in a very timely and professional manner. The work was done during a very rainy tIme and Bill Nash did a great job keeping me informed of scheduling changes due to the weather. His crew was very prompt and showed up when they were supposed. I am completely satisfied with the job Nash painting did, and would highly recommend them. They are not cheap, actually they were the highest bid, but I believe you get what you pay for. The only issue I did have was the workers cleaned their brushes in the grass which killed it is several areas. I did make Bill Nash aware of this, but he didn't offer to repair it. This was the only disappointment.

Bill did a first class job. The price was by far the highest of all the bids, but it was worth it. He pressure washed, scraped, and the caulked the heck out of this 1973 lake house. Then he covered it in high quality Sherwin Williams paint. It's never looked better. He's a stickler for details, a great communicator and I would definitely recommend him and use him again. They do a great job cleaning up at the end also. Nicely done!

It went very well. Bill was very responsive during the initial process of providing a quote and scheduling a time. He responds to email quickly and to phone calls. It took about 1/2 of the day to get done. He left no mess behind. He was very professional and answered all of my questions.

Excellent. Painters were in and out in no time and the job was excellent. Owner, Bill even deducted the Angie's list 5% discount from my final bill which I wasn't really expecting. I had him quote several rooms but only had him paint two rooms with perhaps more at closing.

Bill's estimates were actually the highest of the three I got. However, his attention to detail and the questions he asked made me feel like he was the one I wanted for the job and I was not dissapointed. We were working the job between a roofer and window installation which went exactly as planned. The job took three full days and Bill and his team had all of their supplies and tools cleaned up and neatly stored for the next day. The painting team arrived early each morning and worked together like a team should, all were polite and respectful of my property. When the initial power wash revealed some rotten wood around a couple of basement windows, Bill was very able to rebuild those while the painting was going on, for a very reasonable extra cost. Now, 8 months later, I am still very satisfied with the job, my modest house looks very good and I feel I got more than my moneys worth. I would gladly recommend Nash Painting to anyone needing these services.

Fantastic. Very professional and did everything he said he'd do. The house looks brand new. Would hire again. They are not the cheapest in town, but you definitely get what you pay for. I'm very pleased.

He made an estimate over the phone with my description, then told me he would drive by and look at the door to let me know if there was any change. He stayed in touch via email and we set a date. He came and did well. I had to re-schedule the second and third visit to accomodate my wife's schedule, and he gladly accepted the change. Always punctual, quick and efficient. He did not waste time talking but was nice enough to answer questions when asked. Very professional.
