Blair Garage Door

Description of Work: Blair Garage Door responded to my request to rebalance two garage doors to which I had added fiberglass insulation. He explained that he could tighten the spring, but that the current springs are 10 years old and tightening them could speed their failure. On his recommendation, I had both springs replaced which included balancing the doors. Could I have just had him tighten the springs? Yes, but the cost of new springs now, was less than another service call when the 10-15 year life expectancy springs break.

Description of Work: John Blair arrived on time, diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the gear on the automatic garage door mechanism in less than an hour. I thought that the problem was far more greater and more costly, but the garage door opener worked fine and still works fine after his repair at a minimum cost.

After giving us a catalogue of high quality doors to choose from, John drew up an estimate for the doors, framing & openers. He arrived early on installation day, and finished when he said he would and @ the price he'd quoted. The new doors & opener are fantastic, and the openers are so quiet that unless I see the door going down, Id never know from the sound! Quality workmanship from a quality company.

Description of Work: John did our garage door tune up and replaced the rollers to more silent plastic ones. He arrived timely, gave very professional advices about the door maintenance and the door sensor alignment. We'll definitely use his service again.

Description of Work: i contacted blair based on the offer i received from Angie's list. I had been experiencing problems with my automatic garage door closing half way and then going back up. I was informed that the track the garage door was following was out of line and that was causing the door to reverse direction. The track was adjusted and the rollers were replaced as that was part of the offer provided by the angie's list service package. Unfortunately, the problems persisted with the door and I actually determined that the door sensors were causing the problem. During certain times of the day the sun would shine at an angle which caused the sensors to reverse the door. The only remedy is to actually disconnect the obstruction sensors or to get out of the car and use my shadow to cast it over the sensor and the door closes perfectly. Ultimately, the service I received did not correct the problem I was experiencing.
