Randy performed a broad scope of work to remodel a vacant 2-story, two bed, one bath apartment unit. I had performed all of the demolition prior to his arrival on the job. Randy works alone and has a very good understanding of the construction process. He does things in a very logical and methodical manner and is skilled in most of the required trades. He is very easy to communicate and work with, which I appreciated very much. Randy is also very honest; he will let you know if it is better for you to hire someone better suited for the few things he is not as good at or could be accomplished for less money by someone better equipped, e.g., window replacement. It was a complete pleasure and I'm so glad I was able to provide him work, he deserves it. I would hire Randy again in a minute!

Randy was great. Always ready to work at 9 a.m. Even though he had a family emergency in the middle of the project, he explained when he could work and was always dependable. From very nice trim work with many corners and different levels, to beautiful tile work in the shower. He was always willing to listen to my ideas and he always sought the most cost effective solution.....without sacrificing quality. Randy has the knowledge to do just about anything. The total price for 2 weeks of work was a little more than the estimate I received from a popular vender in Kingsport, to repair my shower leak. It included demolition and tiling a corner shower, repairing bathroom ceiling, reattaching gunner to the house and removal and installation of trim and quarter-round in 3 rooms. He was even nice enough to instruct me on my current project. After the job was completed, I still communicate with him on my current projects. My wife loved his work and we have already discussed him coming back for other projects.

He came to do estimate the next day. He was very nice and I would recommend him to anyone.

Worked neatly. Saved a materials that could be reused. Disposed of loose drywall and cleaned up once he was done.

Went very well. Randy was very prompt, courteous and professional. He removed all the drywall and carpet and hauled away. He left the basement very clean and neat.

Randy replied to my initial call very quickly. He arrived to complete a quote on the day he indicated, he was prompt in returning the quote and providing me a detailed drawing of the suggested new Deck design. Randy chose quality materials and made suggestions for the new deck that showed he was "involved" with the whole process, not just there to drive a nail and be on his way. Randy indicated the work would take approx 1 full week. Before leaving work each day we would talk and he would show me his progress for the day and explain his anticipated work schedule for the next day. The work progressed quickly and the quality of the work was exceptional. Randy was prompt when reporting to work and if he was going to be late he called to let me know. He did not leave the job site to complete other quotes or work on any other job once my job was started. I was very impressed with Randy and have already contracted him for other jobs.

This young man is fabulous! So glad I found him on Angie's List. He answered my first email - I was in shock. And he continued to impress by returning every phone call, showing up as planned (on time), gave a good estimate and then finished the job in short order and satisfactorily, just as he said he would. Randy is a local guy, which I prefer whenever possible. He is polite, easygoing, listens carefully...I can't praise him enough. I will definitely be calling him again when I need anything done around the house. Thank-you very much, Randy! :)

He built the deck for us during the winter, so there were a few days where weather hindered progress, but he did an excellent job. It may take him a little longer than some other contractors because he does most of the work himself, but it is worth it. He will make sure it is done right every step of the way. The finished deck was wonderfully done and extremely solid. He stays very busy, so he may not be able to get to something on short notice, but other than that, I wouldn't use anyone else.

Randy has completely remodeled my home from the inside out as you can see in previous reviews. In one room of our house my wife and I had installed the crown moulding and window trim. Randy had been working in the are and just completed a complete kitchen remodel of my neighbors home. I called him and told him that the window trim I had installed had come loose at the bottom of the window and could he stop by and take a look at it. Randy came by about a week later and I showed him the window and I also asked if he could recut and hang my crawl space / basement access door which no longer fit properly because of some stone work that had been done on the foundation. I got home from work just as Randy was finishing up and he told me that all was fixed and because he was in the area and it only took a few minutes that there was no charge! What can I say about this young man. He has made my old house a home and has truly been a blessing to myself and my wife. Recommend him? I purchased a 56 year old home and though it was "professionally inspected" it needed a LOT of work done that the inspector missed. Working on a budget, I needed professionalism and a good price.......A lot to ask. I chanced upon the name Handy Randy's Handymans Service in the phone book and gave him a call. Randy has now been working on my home for over two years and I would not even begin to consider another person to work on my home unless Randy moved or retired. His work is excellent and professional. He is prompt and honest. The quality of the work is very good and Randy is attentive to detail and treats our home with care without supervision, (attested to by my neighbors who have watched him work), and he does what he says he will do at the price he quotes. Randy is creative and personable and a pleasure to be around. He is respectful of your home and goes above and beyond to ensure that when he leaves everything is to your liking and the job site site is always clean when he leaves. If for any reason he cannot make it on time, he calls. He always answers his phone and many times will offer suggestions that not only save you money, but COST HIM MONEY!.....That is truly unusual nowadays. I can't say enough about this man's work and work ethic. If you hire him you will not be disappointed. I have a little work left to do for Randy at this time and our remodeling will be complete.
