Fall 2013 when it started to get cold out, our HVAC unit died. I called some of the better-known HVAC people, and they were kind enough to come out to where we live (in the sticks, 1/2 hour from any real town) and give an estimate. The price was $6000+ for a new unit and it would take about a week to put it in. My folks had used Harmon HVAC before and said to call them instead. So I called and the next day, a great guy named Joey came out & gave a much better estimate: about $3000 and he'd have one installed in two days! The only difference between the other place's unit and the Harmon unit was the name on it. You know how certain name-brand companies will also produce generic items? Well, the same thing applies to HVAC units. The difference is the place that sells them -- some places will ONLY handle the name brand and not their generic counterparts. My new unit even has the same warranty as the name brand. The unit worked great all winter, but I wanted to see how it would perform in the heat, too, before I wrote a review. It works great. My bills are lower than they were to the higher efficiency of the unit. I thought there was a problem with the unit last month, so I called Joey and he was going to come out the next day to fix it. Turns out, there wasn't really a problem, but it's great to know that if there was, he'd be there quickly to take care of it. As a side note, my folks live in Cookeville and aren't Angie members, but they have two HVAC units and have used Joey for both. He fixed one and replaced the other. He's made multiple service calls, and the cost has always been low or free for them. No "$150 just to come to your house to make a small adjustment" nonsense. I cannot recommend Joey or this company highly enough.
