The technician methodically searched and probed the area for an indication of the leak. If one method didn't yield good results he would try another and eventually he found the leak. This was a difficult leak to detect in a long 800 ft run of PVC pipe. It was a water leak and to make it more difficult much of the area to be searched was wet with runoff from rain storms.

Techs arrived early but called first Told them where I thought the leak was They hooked up gas to the water line in the laundry room to pump gas through the line Listened for the leak Gave a radius where the leak could be. Marked the area with tape Told me to call if we had any problems and or questions Packed up and left. Very courteous and friendly.

we knew that water was leaking, but there was no evidence anywhere of water. we thought that it was our underground sprinkler system, but they checked it and found no leaks. over hours of work using gas blown in lines and listening equipment they said 'it's right there in the corner of our den under the slab'. several days later the remodeling crew (R S Remodelers) found the leak exactly where american leak said it was.

I called for an appointment on a Thursday. They didn't have anything available until the following Wednesday, but were able to fit me in on Tuesday when someone cancelled. The technician identified the location of the leak in less than an hour. I would use them again. The only negative is that is does take a while to get an appointment.

Website says that they will find the "source" and location of the leak in my pool. To me the source means exactly that not an area. The technician found a leak and flagged the location. It was within 3 feet area which I did not know. I was lead to believe that the leak was outside the pool. When my regular pool company showed up they spent 3 hours digging up trying to discover the leak and finallly discovered that the pvc pipes were not leaking but the actual return nozzle inside the gunnite was causing the leak. When I called the owner, he was extremely belligerent and said they weren't. When I pointed out that his website said source and location he kept coming back to area. I responded by saying then that is what you should say on your website and tell people in advance. He, then, told me that I was the first person in 17 years to complain, which viewing this list is certainly not true. He then said he was'nt GOD. No problem with the tech other than he could have given me a little better front end education.

The technician arrived on time and setup his pressurizing and sound detection equipment. After 45 minutes, he had not found a leak in a pool losing over 1000 gallons a day. He then concentrated on the pump/filter area and declared that there was a leak in the backwash line. While cutting into the 3 inch PVC backwash pipe, he broke off the pipe where it enters into the multipurpose valve, the valve that controls the routing of the pool water...and found no leak. He couldn't replace the pipe because he couldn't get the broken piece of pipe out of the valve. After offering me a $20 discount to get the broken pipe out myself, and promising to come back and finish finding the leak, I paid him $340. Big mistake. After hours trying to remove the broken pipe, my own pool serviceman and I agreed that the only solution was a new multipurpose flow control valve. I called American Leak Detection of Atoka TN, discussed the problem with them, and suggested that they were responsible for damaging the valve and should replace it. They were extremely reluctant to replace the valve, however after much discussion, finally agreed to do it. The technician showed up with the new valve (their cost about $100) and installed it. Now I could run the filter again but still had a huge leak somewhere and they had my money. I asked the technician to find the leak and he said he would have to dive in the pool with scuba gear to check for leaks there. That is one of their services, but he had to talk to the franchise owner and bring the diving gear. He never returned. I got a call that the American Leak Detection franchise owner did not want to do business with me any longer. After protesting, I was finally allowed to speak with the man. He was extremely loud, rude and abusive and he had my $340. No, he would not give me my money back guarantee or not, and hung up on me. By the way, the guarantee is stated on the corporation website and was verbally given to me when I made the appointment and during the service call. What a business. I disputed the charges with my credit card company. After weeks of me sending documents and photos to Visa, the Atoka TN, American Leak Detection owner managed to distort the facts enough to Visa that they denied my claim. Not all was lost though. "Scotts The Pool People", of Memphis TN, who installed my pool, knew of my leak problem and promptly came to my home. He was in the pool for 30 minutes, and found and repaired 19 tiny "pinhole" leaks. Problem solved. No more leaks and no more American Leak Detection Corporation for me.

We contacted our plumbers after the water company let us know our usage was very high and we likely had a leak. At the suggestion of my plumbers, I contacted American Leak Detection to find an elusive leak. Jerry Finley, concealed leak and pipe specialist, arrived promptly at my appointment time. After extensive searching, Jerry could not locate the leak and recommended the installation of a shut-off valve at the house. Our home only had a water shut-off valve at the street. He did not charge me for his time, though he was here searching for the leak for an hour using his electronic equipment. Jerry was courteous and professional. After installing the shut-off with our plumbers, I again called American Leak Detection to have the leak pinpointed. Jerry again came out and met my plumbers here. With the shut-off installed, he quickly pinpointed the leak, showing it to me and the plumbers and marked the area with flags. The bill was $375. It was a relief to know the exact location of the leak. If I have a leak that I can't find in the future, I will be sure to call American Leak Detection and request Jerry Finley.
