The first call was made Monday to our home warranty service, and they sent Feezell Total Maintenance Tuesday morning.  Jacob and Joshua were very nice and arrived early in fact.  They discovered we didn't have a clean out, so they had to put one in.  Our home warranty service requires we pay a $75 service fee, and on top of that the brothers quoted me $375 to put in the clean out.  $375 for 2 guys to gig a small hole and put $20 worth of PVC in the ground.  That seems crazy high.

But they got it unclogged and I was able to take a shower again so I was happy.  Until the next day when it was clogged again.  I was able to snake the line and unclog it again, and that lasted for another 5 hours or so when it was clogged again.

When I called the home warranty service again on Wednesday night, they again sent Feezell back out on Friday.  By this point, we had basically been without a working toilet or shower for the better part of 4 days.  Two different men showed up this time.

This is when my unhappiness took place.  I was happy that they got the blockage unstopped, and so far so good.  What bothered me was this: They didn't have a camera to scope the line, so they really had no idea what was causing the blockage, but they had NO PROBLEM telling our home warranty company that it was something other than waste or toilet paper, even though they had no proof of that.  They got their steel snake stuck in the septic line, and then took a 30 minute smoke break to think about it.  They told me, we could dig up the connection to the septic tank, which was by their own admission only about 12' down, but they didn't have time and then quoted me between $470-$1000 to dig the hole and find out what was wrong.  Perhaps if they hadn't been standing around for 30 + minutes, they might have time to dig that hole.

Basically, now the home warranty company said we're on our own now because the feezells told them there is a problem at the septic tank, when they have no proof that there is a problem.

**Update : The line is still working fine. Almost a week now. So it must have really been only a blockage. Not a problem at the septic tank.
