I had a truly disappointing experience with Mr. Handyman on June 15, 2023. They were hired to perform repairs and paint various areas of my home. While the towel racks and hooks were satisfactorily hung, and the bedroom paint job was nearly flawless, my bathroom is a different story. The initial paint job in the bathroom displayed mismatched areas where the paint was clearly not blended properly. After contacting the owner, they sent out a crew to fix the issue. They repainted the area, but the results were far from satisfactory. Some areas were blended well, but several defects remained, including around the doors outer edge, the light switch, and the outlet. My frustration escalated when the owner, instead of addressing the problem, questioned the quality of the paint used, even though I had provided photographic evidence that the paint used was Farrell-Calhoun, a reputable brand with over a century of history. The owner dismissively called it chea; and attributed the color difference to the paint quality, even though the same paint was fine on the wall where only a towel hook needed replacement. I offered the owner multiple opportunities to assess the issue in person, but he has not chosen to come to my home to evaluate. To make matters worse, he is insisting that I hire them again â essentially demanding more money â to rectify the problem. His sudden silence in response to my messages and calls is disheartening, especially considering he is a business owner. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against using Mr. Handyman in Brentwood. It is worth mentioning that my suspicion about the effort put in by the contractors seems valid, given their chronic lateness during both visits. This seems to be a recurring problem according to other reviews I have come across. Additionally, I would recommend choosing a Handyman branch that employs staff rather than subcontractors for better accountability and quality control. I would attach images to this review if homeadvisor permitted. All in all, I cannot recommend Mr. Handyman Brentwood to anyone after this disappointing encounter. I will be posting this review on Google Reviews (and other platforms) regularly in hopes of preventing others from having a similar outcome.

The pro was highily skilled at rebuilding my rotted window sill and repairing damage on 3 other windows. The $900 total though was way more than I would have paid if I knew ahead of time. The original quote was $450, however, I was expecting to pay more in the neighborhood of $650. It was a sticker shock for sure at $127 an hour and took 6 hours. I also am left with sanding and painting and putting the screens back in as it started to pour down rain before he could paint the repairs.

Thirty minutes early Door Repair knew exactly what to do

Mr Handyman was great. They quickly contacted me and set up an appointment to fix my doors. The job was completed quickly and I am very satisfied with the final job.

I thought that my weather-stripping needed to be replaced. The technician advised me that it was still functioning fine. No replacement were required. I appreciated the technician being honest.

Very professional and complete job. Erik went above and beyond to fix and make the area look good.

I was told the price would be $500 when the man gave me the bill my price turned out to be right at $850 when I am quoted a price that is what I expect I do not plan on using them anymore the guy who put up 20 pieces of trim was a good person but I should have been charged what I was quoted.

Jeff did exactly what he said his team would do. Very timely in responding to my email and phone call. Would definitely recommend and use him again.

Have contacted several times to redo work. While Jeff M. is polite and courteous, the quality of work done is poor and unfortunately now have to look into redoing work that has already been paid for. This is not acceptable for anyone especially elderly and veterans. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

This contractor was excellent

The company is very hard to contact. The amount they Quote is a low amount and then takes twice as much. They do marginal work and not finish - that is unless you want to pay more. I would NOT recommend this company and will not be using them again

Prompt, professional, trustworthy, has all the skill sets to accomplish many tasks, have necessary tools on truck so no delays in starting and finishing projects! Started and finished 20 “To Do items” in less than a day. So happy with work that I found 6 more projects I am going to get done by Mr. Handyman of Brentwood. Reasonable pricing.

Prompt responsiveness, showed up on time, courteous, friendly, willing to come back next day to finish list. Better at carpentry and heavier handyman jobs like chainsawing down tree stumps. Need to pay attention to details on finer jobs like wiping down doors (only wiped as far as he could reach instead of just getting a ladder to finish the last foot which I had to do myself) Overlooked certain requests like did not wipe down all doors,, I had to have him go back and finish one door he skipped, did not sweep leaves from corners of pool deck even though on list, did not remove all crawl space covers. These were items I could do myself ultimately I just did not have time but I ended up doing them because by the time I noticed these requests were skipped Mr Handyman had already left.

I would hire them again

Great experience. I was contacted quickly and an appointment scheduled around my work schedule. Tech arrived on time, gave great advice, completed the project expertly. He even did a few extra things without charging - paint touch up, oiled squeeky door.

The man showed up unprepared. His first question was "Where is the nearest Home Depot?" He disappeared for more than 2 hours. He was supposed to replace some bent fascia and some cracked bricks. It took hin over 6 hours for about 20 ft. of aluminum. He never got to the bricks. He handed me a bill for around $650.00. It included the fee he paid to rent the metal brake and for an entire roll (85') of aluminum trim. I protested and he left in a huff leaving all his trash in my driveway, saying something to the effect of that if I couldn't afford it, just forget it. Well, I can afford it but I refused to pay for tool rental and supplies I don't need. Also it should've been a 2 hour job. I called his office and complained with the office manager. I agreed to pay for 3-1/2 hours labor and my bill was adjusted to $485.00. Still way too much for what would have been an easy 2 hour job had he been prepared.

He did a great job on the installing of the Toilets. It only took him about an hour to install 2. He didn't complete the installation of the sink. He said he didn't charge me for that. So I finished that job myself.The worst part of the job was installing the water heater! He started at 8:00.... Completed at about 12:30. He left the job site 5 times going back to HomeDepot to get the correct parts. When he ran out of time... he said he had to go. So I was left with the clean-up and disposal of 2 toilets, a sink and the water heater. Not what I was expecting at all. I feel like I got milked on the labor!

I'll probably hire them again.

The guy that came out and did the work was great. The communication of setting the appointment was a little frustrating as they were an hour late.
