TruGreen Lawn Care - 5769

Started off well enough. Late or missed a couple times, but was relatively quick to reschedule. However, following the first few visits, they were supposed to perform an aeration on my lawn. It has been over 6 weeks since this was to take place. I have had to call dozens of times to get it rescheduled and they send technicians who cannot aerate. So, I continue to call and have now asked for a refund.

I have never had more weeds than I have now. I used to do it myself with Scotts, but switched to a $700 year service to have a weed-filled lawn. They came to do an extra service after I complained and barely any of the weeds died. I'm in the process of just canceling my remaining service and hiring a new service. Whatever they're spraying doesnt work.

We have contracted them to spray my yard over a five month period. They have not called before they come and sent me messages saying they sprayed when they haven't. It has not been a good experience.

I've been using TruGreen Lawn Care since way back in the 80's when they first came into this market here. It has to be 83 or 84 and they've done a first rate job for me. They are very responsive. I have them treat my lawns as well as my shrubbery. They give me good advice and I always renew with them. I would recommend them to anybody who wants their yard looking good. A company that's responsive and tells you what's going on. I've been very happy with them. They always knock on the door or ring the bell to let me know they're here. At the beginning of the year I buy so many applications for my lawn and so many applications for my shrubs. That way I pay it and they come out and do whatever they need to the lawn or the bushes. Their price is excellent compared to other companies that do not have as much experience or are not as responsive. They are the best in the area. I am very finicky and picky. Wherever I've lived across the country from California to Maryland, New Mexico, Tennessee, I'm a fanatic about my yard being kept well and looking good and trying to have the best yard in town or at least in the top 10 or top 5. They always keep me there. I am very picky but I know most of the technicians because when they come they are friendly. They talk with me and tell me what they've done and point out things that I need to know. It's a very good relationship and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone.

It was very good. I have an annual contract so they are here frequently. They always let me know when they are coming. I pay annually so I don't remember what the price is. It's for lawn care so it's probably around the area of $275. I think it's a good value.

I have had trouble with them three times. I could kick myself for going back to them. It was going to be $500 but I refused to pay them. They were supposed to aerate and seed my yard. They did a lousy job of aerating, and we cannot find any grass seed. So I called them up and said I am not paying for this because you didn't do it. They said they would credit me and not to worry about it. I told them don't ever call me again and don't ever come to my property again. This is the second time I had a problem with them. I suspect their price was ok, I have no idea. They would call and tell me their scheduled service and it would not be an appropriate time, and then you have to go through an 800 number to get to them. I have had conflicting information from them more than once.

Call backs were frequent and the quality was very good. We put our house on the market last year and requested that the company call us in advance to authorize treatments. They did not call and proceeded to make two treatments after the house was sold. This was explained to them on multiple occasions and they refused to acknowledge the accountability even though their customer service rep acknowledged that my account was designated as call ahead. This morning I received a call from a collection agency. RUN from this provider. They will treat your yard without authorization and then try to make you pay for something you didn't approve. They also use telemarketing firms to upset you and if you're not VERY careful they will trick unsuspecting customers into authorizing a treatment beyond their normal plan.

They come out every six weeks. I don't know when they are coming. They will call and let us know. I tell them to come after Wednesdays, that's when we get our lawn work done. They have been doing a good job. They do the work. They are very responsive.

I had paid for the year of service upfront to save some money. That was a big mistake. I watched my lawn get worse and worse throughout the summer. I called and complained. They would reapply the same ineffective treatment. I have used Scott's products for years and they never worked as poorly as whatever this service put on my yard. I called Scott's corporate number and was told this was an independent franchise, so unfortunately they could do nothing to help. NEVER use this service.

TruGreen performed the aeration and overseeding after an extended period of hot, dry weather. It was over 90 the day the service was performed. The yard was so hard from lack of rain that the aeration was ineffective. I complained and the service was performed again in November when the weather and ground conditions were much more better for this type of service.

I dislike their quality of work. I dislike their lack of communication. I dislike their punctuality.

I like their professionalism and the quality of their work. I have no dislikes.

Fertilizer on left on side walk, driveway, etc. We've had their service for 4 years now. They were $10/application cheaper than our former service. Good aspects-- 1. Lawn has done well for the most part. 2. They generally keep up with all the feedings. Bad aspects-- 1. They recommend treatment for brown patch, which is a annual problem in our area. They recommend two treatments at $187.00 each. The problem is that it actually works about half the time or less. 2. When aerating and over-seeding I've always asked for an advance notice so the lawn is mowed first and the 45 sprinkling heads can be flagged. a) They have yet to call more than a few minutes before arrival or not at all. b) When they over-seed, most decorative grasses are overtaken by lawn grass, seed is left all over the drive/walks despite my warnings to the men and to the office before they arrive.

They are too expensive. They were supposed to come out one or two days and put lime on but when I asked how much they said $80; I thought I had a heart attack.

This company is awful. They would never called ahead properly so I could get my dog out of the back yard, and they were always a day or 2 late. I asked them to come out early and put down the pre-emergent crabgrass treatment in March as that is the appropriate time for East TN, and they assured me early April would be fine (it was more like mid-April). Well...guess who has crabgrass now? I also have brown spot worse than I have ever had it in 12 years at this residence. When I called to cancel my service, they guy I spoke with could have cared less...he clearly just wanted to get off of the phone. I would never recommend using this company as they are just not professional and customer service oriented.

I originally had a paid contract with Scott's Lawn Service, I had the total package. I had ordered the fertilizer, and everything but shrub treatment. A TruGreen representative called a week later and stated that he could offer the same but for $131 less. So I got a refund and went with TruGreen, WHAT A MISTAKE! Three treatments in and I still have weeds in my backyard. The tech told me I should go to Lowe's and get some weed killer. Then I get a note after the fourth treatment that I have fungus in my yard and it's an additional $50 per treatment. I express my concern as to why this is just now being noticed and that the Scott's package included the treatment for fungus. They stated at the price I was offered they could not afford to treat the fungus. All of the reps I spoke to never seemed to care. Lastly, they tell me that I have spider mites in my trees. I haven't seen any and think they are just trying to tack on additional sales to the one they have already lied about initially.

Twice I was billed for services that I did not receive and had to call and get it removed. Those services were ones where they called me to set up an extra service that I was not currently receiving. They never showed to perform the service yet it showed up on my bill. Over promised and under delivered.

They did what they said they were going to do as far as applications. They came on their scheduled time.

I signed up for a one year Scott's professional lawn program. The technician arrived on time and was knowledgeable and polite. My lawn is already looking better. Their flexible monthly payment program was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend Scott's to anybody looking to improve the appearance and health of their lawn.

At the end of the year, when they overseeded the lawn, they put grass seed in my bulb beds, so I had grass growing throughout it. I had to have my current lawn service technician dig it up to fix it. It was a great inconvenience and expense. I've called them at least three times and they haven't called me back.

We weren't really satisfied. We actually had more weeds a year later than we had prior to them starting working for us so we just decided, whatever they're spraying in our lawn is making it worse. They would just show up. We never knew when they were coming. They would just leave a sign in the yard and the bill.

After calling several companies for quotes and going with a competitor, I received a phone call from David Webb and he offered the lowest price and stated all of the benefits of their service. He talked the price down by stating services that were not needed and provide personal assurance of my satisfaction. After cancelation of the service with David's competitor, due to poor service, I received an automated reminder of the techs visit. He came and the lawn was sprayed. The awesome part was the bill of service. I received two slips in a door knob folder. They were incredible detailed with the services performed and a personal note from the tech. Additionally, there is a complete review of time arrived and left, the techs full name, his certification credentials and information of how to care for the lawn until the next visit. I'm extremely happy with Mr. Webb and TruGreen.

I ordered the package with everything but the tree maintenance. They came while I was at work and performed the service. I had ordered lime and weed killer for the first visit. The lime was only noticeable in small patches. I called the local office (Nashville) and they stated that "I" would need to speak with the lawn tech. He called back three days later and stated "I don't know what to do. Your going to have to set up another appointment. I cancelled the service and requested a refund. Then the original sales person blows up my phone, while I'm at work. Calling 6 times every 5 mins until I finally pick up and told him I was not happy and I was canceling regardless. They do not have a local office. You are always sent to a call center with people that sound dissatisfied with their employment. I signed up with TruGreen for less and I have the local (Alcoa Hwy) managers phone number.

My experience is very good. They do a good job. The lawn has shown great improvements since we started using them.

It doesn't appear that they put it across the whole yard. They put it in wide bands and left some gaps.
