Scholten construction was great to work with for our roof and siding replacement. They were very responsive throughout the whole process - from scheduling the bid to delivering materials and completing the job and clean up! Would 10/10 recommend for your next home project.

I ended up in the hospital during the project, they put they use they did not get, i have composite but they bought the wrong one, when i got home from the hospital the project was done, that was in December and within a month, i had a corner of sidewalk crack, i also had concrete blast up on my permanent sighting on my flower edgings that was never cleaned up. The railing on the deck came loose, i call the company, they said they will come out and take a look at it when the weather got better. It took several texts, several contacts with the owner, before finally got them out here. They never did clean up this concrete on my siding, the flower bed edgings. I paid them full when i was in the hospital, my son took a check for them, all of this notice after the fact, after they were paid, i wont hire them again.

The team was very professional, did excellent work, were all very courteous and accomodating. Have already recommended to others.

Adam and his crew arrived on time, and stayed on the job all day. They did a great job answering questions that we had, and we love our new deck. AND we got it before WINTER hit!

From start to finish I was very happy with Scholten construction. I got my estimate before Drew left my driveway his crew does a professional job and excellent quality work. I will always refer Scholten to friends or family and I will definitely call them back for another project.

I hired Scholten Construction to do an addition on to my existing deck up to my above ground pool....... They took a lot of time with me and made sure that they understood exactly what I wanted and they came through.... I thought the deck was very well built to my expectations and above.... There were even some little things they did that I didn't really expect that they would do..... During the build I wanted a couple things changed and they did it.... In the end, I paid exactly what the bid was..... We get tons of compliments on the deck..... I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

Drew, Adam and crew did a wonderful job of ripping out our old deck and replacing with a beautiful composite. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The whole crew is super friendly and makes the homeowner feel valued. Scholten Is the only name you need to know.

They did an excellent paint job. They arrived early in the day and worked efficiently throughout the day. I really appreciated that they finished the back of my house the first day so I could let my dog outside in the yard. When finished everything was cleaned up, leaving no messy cleanup for me. I definitely would hire them again!

The Scholten Construction & Painting crew were an absolute joy to work with. From the bidding process, to picking out paint and colors, to painting, everything was done flawlessly. Each member of the crew was so kind and considerate. They really put their heart into their work and take pride in what they do. Our house went from blah to gorgeous! We are constantly getting compliments on our home. We can't say enough great things about Scholten Construction and Painting.

Little backstory in that we had the work started with a previous contractor but that was not going well with poor communication and follow through. So we were in a pickle with trying to get the work completed before winter. We met with Drew Monday (10/31) and have a new deck at the time of this review writing (11/2). Despite the suddenness of the request, Drew was able to get a crew out to acquire more material and assemble a deck for us. That alone was worth every penny to my wife and I. Knowing what they can do in a pinch has me convinced they are even better when they are given more time to plan. We could not be happier. They were here when we were told they would be. They were done sooner than we expected as well. Just can't sing their praises any louder. Fantastic experience here! Thank you to Drew and team. Highly recommend, to anyone who reads this, to give them a chance to do similar for you.

Great job, friendly workers, and extremely happy with how the deck turned out!

Drew and his crew were great to work with and the deck is an amazing addition to our home. Drew built the deck exactly as we discussed and we also had a concrete pad poured and we are so excited to spend more time outside. Drew was very responsive to any questions we had and always returned my calls or texts.

Very professional, friendly, detail oriented. Will be the only painter in my contacts. Highly recommend them.

Drew did a complete basement finish for us. Drywall, paint, trim, carpet, bathroom tile and fixtures. The project was complete with fireplace install. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the quality of the work and the pace with which it was finished. Will certainly call him back for our next construction or remodel needs.

I found Drew on home advisor, I needed a privacy fence to kept out dogs that lived next door to me. Drewâ s initial consolation was during the winter time of January of 2018 I think, but the ground was frozen so the fence couldnâ t go up yet. Once the ground unfroze the fence went up in 2 days, one day to cement the posts in place and one day to nail the planks in place and make sure everything was level.

I hired Drew as my general contractor to move my house and to do all phases of that work. What a disaster. Drew took the job as he said as a favor but he had no idea what to do. We provided people who would know what the requirements were but Drew would not contact them. So instead of paying what I should have for a foundation, he charged me $6000 too much. He would not listen to other people involved in the project. He started work on the land before he had the building permits. He would argue with me when I told him to ask the house mover about the requirements for the house foundation. The house mover has been in the business 30 years and knew exactly what to do. When I told him that the movers said the foundation was wrong he immediately became defensive and threatened to quit. We only had so much time for the project and could not fire him at the time. He messed up the foundation so bad we had to spend an additional 7 days in an RV. We spoke to other contractors in the last week and they could not believe what he charged for the work he did. The electric contractor he hired was rude. He yelled at us when we asked him for an itemized statement and said he would charge additional for that. He pressured us into paying him immediately or have a lien put on our house. When Drews team accidentally broke a water pipe, instead of saying **Oh, that is too bad lets get it fixed for you**, he just said **I am done** and walked away. Leaving us with major issues as to getting the project done. Drew said he took the job as a favor and then held it over our head that he had other projects going. If you cannot give your full attention to a project then do not take it. We had to scramble to get the other projects done so we could live in our house. If I could give no stars I would. He continually made excuses as to why he could not get our project. with us having less than 30 days to move our home. Even the Minnehaha county building inspector said he went way above what was necessary. He also was untruthful about obtaining the necessary permits. When questioned about it he told me he had them on 3 different occasions. I called the county and they verified that no permits had been issued. He started groundwork before the permits were even issued. Other contracts said a project that should have cost around $50,000 instead of the $75,000 that it cost us thanks to Drew. I think, in my personal opinion, that the only project Drew should do is maybe an outhouse. I would never think about hiring him ever again. He is expensive and unwilling to admit he does not know everything or ask for advice. If you question him on anything he gets defensive and will quit on you. I had to do a lot of the work myself to get memberships paid, utilities to the house, and contractors set up. The electrical contract said Drew never hired him. He said Drew mentioned he had a job for them but when it came time to put the electrical to the house the electrical contractor said he had no idea that he had this job. We had to fight to get utilities hooked up to the house in late October and had no heat or water the first night. This was an extremely difficult situation we were put in with Drew and it left us broken because of his lack of professionalism and his rude behavior.

Every night we had to pick up after his guys working. Cigarette butts in the grass. Did not remove dirt from our rock bed from digging the holes. Killed a few spots in the grass from wood laying all over. He ordered the wrong spindles and of course, everyone was out of them so our second choice was gray instead of the black ones we wanted. They used crappy lumber and instead of getting different lumber they just used it. Looked like a beaver ate it. After they left and we paid them our son in law came over and pointed out all this stuff cause I do not know what to look for. That is why I paid a professional to do it. Well, they are far from professional. The front stairs moved when u walked on it. The stringers on the back steps were cracked thru the middle. A piece came off so they took the piece and screwed it back in. They just left it until I saw it. They cut into our trim on the house and di not even seal it until I said something. They installed a door and now I just noticed the light is coming thru. So I messaged him about that and said the door looks broke and we did not install it that way. Refuses to come back and fix the stuff says it will be $100 an hour for the stuff we already paid him $9,000 to do.
