Description of Work: Josh from Rogers Plumbing and Heating was awesome to work with. This company did and an outstanding job in my house in Sioux Falls, SD. I had a new furnace, ductwork, a new water heater, plumbing for a new bathroom, venting for a microwave/fan, venting for a dryer and a gas line for a new gas stove done and more. Rogers is truly a full service company and they do quality work. I would use them again.

We took three bids, one from Lambert Heating, one from Frisbees and one from Roger's. Lambert sells Bryant equipment, Frisbee's and Roger's both sell Carrier equipment. We asked Roger's for a bid because two people at my workplace independently recommended them highly. The Bryant bid was highest but not overly so considering they have high end merchandise. The Frisbee's bid was in the same ballpark as Roger's. Both the Lamberts and Frisbee's sales folks created their bids on the fly on the initial visit. Roger's made a second visit bringing a professional bid comparing three options including a heat pump option. The reason we chose Roger's was the professionalism of the salesperson (Roger himself) and the logical solution he proposed. The Frisbee's salesman was confident with his recommendations but he did not know as much about the plumbing piece as Roger did. Frisbee's was going to charge me about $285 for the extra plumbing and said it would be a tough job. Roger didn't think it was that tough and he agreed to do it for free if I accepted his package. My wife and I felt very confident working with Roger. His installer did not disappoint either as he was professional, hard working, and knew his business. Roger's was very professional, did a great job, gave us no surprises on cost, filled out all the rebate forms, handled all of the permitting and inspections, and left a neat and clean installation. Roger also did a post install visit to make sure we were happy, to make sure we knew how to use the equipment, and delivered the filled out (as far as he could) rebate forms. We highly recommend Roger's if you need work done.
Description of Work: Replaced the furnace, air conditioner and water heater. We also required some additonal replumbing of a gas line.

I was very happy with the estimated price, and the initial service. The individuals that came to do the work were nice, and the work appeared very clean. The actually pointed out and helped fix some lazy work that the original builders didn't do very well. A problem arose, however; when we tried scheduling them to do the finish work. We placed several >6 calls and left messages across about 3 weeks with not 1 returned call trying to schedule them to come over to set the toilet, install sink fixture etc... We finally decided to buy our own permit and finish ourselves because apparently we weren't a high priority for them. We finally received a call back wanting to schedule a date for them to finish, and I told them that we had finished it. A couple of days later I received another bill. Apparently the first bill we got after the plumbing rough in was not for the entirety of the rough in, it was just some arbitrary made up amount. Imagine my surprise when I get another bill when no additional work had been done! I finally agreed to pay him ~ 1/3 the additional amount to get them off my back, but I still feel like I got hosed. In my opinion if X amount of work has been done and Y amount is left to do at a later date I should receive a bill for $X the first time, and $Y the second time. In all of the documents I had there was no indication that the billing would be done in this manner.

Response from Roger's Plumbing & Heating Inc
We apologize for the apparent miscommunication and misunderstanding with this homeowner. Roger's Plumbing & Heating, Inc. highly values excellant customer service. The homeowner accepted the original proposal and work was started 1 week after the proposal was accepted and signed. The plg. & HVAC work was completed within 90%. The standard procedure of billing is 1/2 within the 1st month, rest upon completion, assuming completion would be within the next 30 days or so. Six months later the homeowner wanted us to complete the project, however, we could not schedule completion at that time due to other projects already in progress. We did contact the homeowner 3 weeks later, when we could complete the project, however, the homeowner decided to complete it himself due to the delay. The balance of the contract was then billed out, with an allowance for the homeowner's labor to set his own toilet and lavatory. We apologize for any misunderstanding and did try to negotiate a fair billing for work completed.
