+ 0 moreThe remodel was supposed to take 6 weeks and was not finished after four months. Contractor bragged about having 13 jobs at the same time as mine and lied to me on several occasions regarding aspects of the job. I found out that he has had several liens put on his house by the IRS/South Dakota state government, circuit court judgements for not paying contractors and went through bankruptcy.

+ -1 moreByron was very creative with the new design of the deck. Previously our deck had on long set of stairs leading to the back yard. Byron cam up with a landing that also twisted the steps to exit onto our patio below. It was a very nice touch! Byron's bid was very reasonable and the final payment matched the estimate. There were no surprises. The quality of the work was outstanding. The start and finish timelines were as promised except for a day of rain. I highly recommend Byron for any remodel job. + -1 moreThe roof project went very well, I really have no bad comments. He even made it fun to work with. I would have thought my need to use his crew temporarily, (probably 10 -15 minutes in total), would have been a big interruption. He just worked in while the crew was down on the ground....Good humor is a great asset in completing projects. I guess the best I can do here is comment that I will use him again!
Description of Work: Had to replace the roof shingles. Byron was most helpful and even walked me through all the costs. His interests were based on quality of materials and the budget to work within. Along with the shingles, I had to replace the bottom Masonite siding as it was going bad. To do so, I had to move the unattached 10x14 deck out of the way. unable to do that myself, he had several of his crew assist me in moving it away from the house and resetting it back in place when I completed the repair. His approach was, "It was just part of the job." He was very conscious of safety all the time and took great care on not damaging the lawn while removing material and loading the shingles on the roof. Very professional! He answered all my questions very satisfactorily.
