DAN'S DITCHING

BEWARE DO NOT trust>> Dan's Ditching in Rapid City SD, Dan's Ditching Inc. showed up and started the project early without official permission. We talked about meeting on Thursday as I took off work to oversee the Septic System and help with the installation & further discuss the project. Dan's Ditching showed up ahead of schedule on Monday while I was not home. They had the system about 70% complete that day and the entire job finished in 3.5 short days. Dan's Ditching stated the system should cost about $7,000 to $8,000 as my neighbors had a VERY similar Infiltrator system I discussed. Dan's Ditching turned in an invoice for in excess of $16,300, I asked Dan if he could re figure as this was much more than we talked about. The next day he came back with $15,500. I have gotten 5 other bids from other Septic contractors ranging from $6,000 to $9,100. I mentioned to Dan we may have to work something out and I would get back to him. Talking to Dan and trying to get the price to a reasonable amount for the work performed did not work. I requested SEVERAL times to get an ITEMIZED statement WITH supporting invoices from suppliers and laborers, each time I would get a VERY generic and basic hand written statement with none of the detailed information I requested. He Hired a lawyer Mark Walters who treated me with no respect and even called me a *******. He has since hired a different lawyer and has filed a Mechanics Lien on my property. The mechanics lien was filed for $12,900 approx. which is still $3,800 nearly 39% higher than the HIGHEST of 5 (Five) bidders for the EXACT same Infiltrator septic system. Upon him filing the Mechanics lien I have gotten a more detailed and itemized statement without supporting proof of the man hours actually spent on the project... I have offered to pay a reasonable amount based on the other bids of $8,700 approx. which Dan's Ditching has declined. I have done EVERYTHIG possible to resolve this matter FAIRLY. I even went to Dan's Ditching place of business/Home with an explanation of my dispute, Dan the owner of Dan's Ditching got very angry and called me several VULGAR and disgusting names. I remained calm and advised Dan I am not her to fight and walked away. Dan also had mentioned to me and I quote that "I was a Slick Son of a B. Just like my dad was" I have a feeling he and my father had some issues in the past, I have not been able to determine what that was. I have apologized to Dan's Ditching for ANYTHING my father may have done to him as he has since passed...Long Story I know and thank you for reading I WOULD NEVER recommend Dan's Ditching Inc in Rapid City SD to ANYONE...BEWARE.
