They told me the furnace needed replaced and tried to sell me a new one for 4k. I had another company fix it for 250 dollars. Then D and R billed me for 250 dollars which I complained about and got down to 200. But was told it was only 80 amd hour to look at it. They then spent approximately an hour to tell me it needed replaced which was bs. So they over charged me 120 dollars. Rip off. Go elsewhere and save money and get a businessman with morals and respect. D and R is garbage.
Description of Work: They looked at my furnace because it wasn't working.

Description of Work: Had a new furnace installed and central air ready. We moved to a differant home and called D&R to have them install central air. 2002 We did not receive a phone call back, called again samething. Noone answered the phone so we left messages, no call back. The father of the buisness retired before this and the son has the buisness now. At this point I am not sure if I would call them or not.

I had this company come out for my a/c unit which was making very loud noises. They were able to respond quickly and were punctual. The technician said there was a leak (although the unit was cooling fine) and topped off the refrigerant as he could not locate the leak. The unit started making noise again within a few days. We should have called the company back then but we were frustrated already because it was so obviously not a leak. We didn't use the a/c that much so we thought we could just try to live with it. A month later we called them back because the unit actually did stop cooling (it was still making noise, too) and they replaced leaking valve caps. The unit was cooling find after that but just like the first service call, the noise started again within a few days. We never had a problem with the unit not cooling in 4 years until they came out and tinkered with it. I called another company to come out and take a look the following summer and they diagnosed the noise problem within 25 minutes of arriving. The unit was fixed 1 week later and has not made noise in a year. I wrote to D & R Service explaining the situation, since I then had a working unit as proof, and requested a refund. My letter was completely ignored. I later contacted the Better Business Bureau and the company finally responded with a canned response about how sometimes the problem isn't obvious and actually blamed me for not replacing the entire a/c unit because, "We are constantly servicing equipment that should have been replaced years ago." The a/c unit was 4 years old at the time of the service call. Furthermore, the unit is working fine now after having been fixed; not replaced. This company has been around since 1971 so maybe I just had a bad experience but I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: 6/2007 The technician responded for a noisy a/c unit and determined it was a leak but couldn't locate a leak. He vacuum pumped the system and added refrigerant. 7/2007 Another technician responded for a still noisy unit that was also not cooling. Replaced valve caps and added refrigerant again.
