The provided provided only a partial estimate. Since last communication on 3/16/15, we were supposed to get the rest of the estimate for electrical work, but never did.

It went well. He came out and reviewed my roof and determined that I didn't need any service.

They did an excellent job and I've actually recommended them to my neighbor.

We meet with bill groves to develop our work. He was very quick and responsive as we worked on color schemes for counters and faucet selections. The work was scheduled promptly after counters were completed. They arranged pre-work so installers knew exactly what to do. They were extremely professional and finished the work faster then predicted. Each evening I saw great progress in work. They left the house immaculate after each day of work. I could not even tell they were there if not for the great work progress. I would hire them again! The price was worth the quality and professionalism.

We had a range of projects running from small to large (relative?) which is why we chose to use a general contractor. All Star had a good reputation on Angie’s list which is why we contacted them. The process seemed to start out OK. Within a week of contact, we had one of the contractors come out and look over the site, take measurements, pictures, etc. We told him that, considering the number of projects, how we prioritized them would depend on the cost of each project and then asked when we could expect estimates, his answer was, “A couple of weeks.” This would prove to be the standard answer I got whenever I asked a question. It took five weeks before we had a face to face sit down only to learn no drawings/plans had been drawn up and no estimates were ready. When we finally did get some numbers, we knew we needed to revise our biggest project, and we did, significantly, but the price barely changed and we were not given a cost detail for the revision. We did not want to abandon the whole process so we decided to press on with one of the other projects. We received a contract but it was vague in detail so we asked for clarification of the dimensions and a specific start date, or at least a range for the start date. We were flatly refused those requests. Throughout the whole process we had to initiate all communication. We got responses but they were often vague or gave a sense of stalling, i.e. “I’ll get back to you.” After two months, we still couldn’t get a start date on a single project. I don’t doubt the positive reviews that I read on Angie’s List but I have to believe that the quality of service depends on the specific contractor. I recently read a review (http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/All.Star.Construction.Inc.605-341-6352) that sounded very similar to our experience and I have to wonder if they were dealing with the same contractor that we were. I would suggest that if, within a month of the process, you find you are wondering what the heck is going on and why you’re not getting answers, cut your losses find someone else.

Thr remodel looks great and I would definitely use All Star again. The team was very professional, the work site was clean, and they demonstrated good problem solving. There was good communication, too. My only concern was with their painter. The wall texture was supposed to match the rest of the house...it doesn't match at all...it's much heavier . I asked All Star to repaint, using a lighter color in order to reduce the impact of the texture. They said they would do it, but would need to charge me $450.00. Since it was their painter's mistake and I wasn't asking them to redo the texture, I thought it should be their expense, not mine. They didn't agree and I'm learning to live with ( and hide) the heavier texture.

They worked with me really well because I wanted to do some things myself. It was a custom house, and I was happy with them and the result.

it turned out wonderfully. They kept us informed from start to finish. They have a website that can be checked daily to see what they will be doing the next and what the finished product will look like.t

I called and spoke with the receptionist and explained that I just needed someone to inspect the roof because we were putting our house on the market and needed a letter for our disclosure certifying no damage had been done to our roof in the last blizzard. She was very friendly and took a message for the guy who could do it. Rick called the next day and responded within the hour. He was very friendly and quick. The letter I needed came in the mail the next day-before a holiday weekend!
