We were too trusting. He did not submit receipts for anything. We do not know how much anything cost, except for "estimates." No idea what materials cost or labor costs. My husband and I are both in our 60's. I came from a family of contractors (we are in South Dakota and they are in Illinois). Brothers, Father, Grandfathers were builders, as well as fine woodworkers, building cabinets, doors, etc. We were assuming that Kelvin was the same way, but his expertise lies in other areas. As contractor, we expected him to make sure everything was working properly and done, but he did not. My husband had surgery on his eye then a Pulmonary embolism, the same time we bought the house. He was unable to help with anything, since he was "legally blind" for months. I was working full time and taking care of almost everything myself, so it was a challenge for both of us. If you need spray insulation (a good investment) done, he can do this well. We appreciated that he looked at the house for us to begin with, noting that it was 'solid." He is quite capable and knowledgeable. If you ask him to do the work, get all the details in writing at the beginning, as one should.
Description of Work: We hired him as a contractor because we didn't know anyone in the area to use. His wife was the Realtor who we purchased the home from.
