COMFORT SYSTEMS OF BLACK HILLS

Description of Work: Our furnace started blowing cold air one morning in December. The burner would light but not stay lit. I called Bret Sullivan at Comfort Systems in Hill City. He answered immediately, and was at my home 20 minutes later diagnosing the problem. It was the CPU board of the furnace that was malfunctioning. As the furnace was over 20 years old, Bret informed me that parts would be difficult to obtain in a timely fashion. I had planned on replacing the furnace anyway, but had not gotten around to it yet. Bret quoted me a price of $2200 for a new furnace but said he might not be able to complete the installation that day. I asked him to set the old furnace to circulate air only, and used my wood stove to keep the house warm until the next day when Bret would arrive with the new furnace. It was 12 below zero that night but the wood stove and old furnace blower kept the indoor temperature above 60 degrees. Bret showed up promptly the following morning, and I had a new furnace heating the house by 1:00 PM that afternoon. The bill actually came out to be $50 less than I was quoted. Weeks later I had a question about some noises coming from the duct work and called Bret. Again, he arrived within a half-hour, diagnosed and fixed the issue (which was not directly related to the new furnace). That visit cost me nothing.
