Svensson Construction

My family first made contact with Karl Svensson in the spring of 2014 and requested his assistance with a shed construction project. Unfortunately, the initial cost estimate was a little more than expected ... so, we postponed our project until the fall season. We once again connected with Karl in September and desired his services before the winter months. It took a little time, due to his existing schedule; however, he worked our project into his plan and started on the framing in mid to late October. It seemed like his team worked fast ... but very efficient and professional. Granted, it was only a shed, but the team's dedication to perfection was quite evident. We also noticed that each team member appeared to be very aware of their surroundings for unsafe situations and took pro-active steps to mitigate any issues. As a homeowner and client, we admired the team's effort on the job site. It also should be noted that the team picked up their equipment each day ... and placed it under the shed frame or neatly against a nearby tree. Not all contractors take the time to wrap their cords or stack un-used wood ... or even pick up their scraps. Karl evidently trains his staff to maintain a clean and clutter-free work space at all times, and this was very much appreciated. We budgeted about $6000 for the shed project. The final price was around $6500 ... so, we have no complaints. The cost of materials evidently increased from the original estimate in the spring, which was understandable. As for the billing, we received invoices by PDF through email, which was efficient and showed a progressive use of technology for a small business. Perhaps the only negative issue was that the invoices only provided five days for payment ... which seemed kinda quick as compared to other payment situations with contractors, credit cards, etc. Yet, we were out of town during the arrival of one invoice and did not meet the proposed deadline, and Karl was not upset ... he was very understanding. It should be noted that his wife Lesa was a fantastic communicator throughout the project ... especially by email. As Karl's schedule changed, Lesa provided emails accordingly. If we had a question about the invoices, she responded within a day or two. Of course, we were pleased with the shed construction and craftsmanship, but the administrative aspects from Lesa made the overall experience positive and worthwhile. Would we use Karl's services again ... yes! He displayed some incredible talent as a carpenter, and he was very accommodating with our plans and expectations. To say the least, we have used a number of contractors for different projects around our home, and Karl has certainly been one of the best. Keep up the good work Karl (and Lesa)!
