Dakota Roofing Inc

The two owners of the company did the work. They put tarps down to catch the old shingles and worked long weekend hours to finish the work in three days. They maintained a very clean job site and were very personable and easy to work with. These gentlemen recently purchased Dakota Roofing. I am planning to rehire the firm to complete my roofing job at my lake home. Excellent job!

It was horrible. They removed the shingles from the garage and part of the house, we had a downpour, over 1" of water in the garage and down through the attic upstairs and into the main floor. The owner was never on the job. Only a group of college students ages. The owner wouldn't come until we held payment until his company reimpersed us for that part of the mess. His insurance did pay that. Unfortunatly since then we cannot get him to do anything about the mess that we have now. They didn't put the ice and water protector on part of the house and porch . They used gutter apron instead of flashing. They didn't replace the drip edge so now its all bent up. There are lots of exposed nails that are leaking. They tore siding and used electrial tape to repair it. It used to leak in 4 places now it leaks in the origional places plus many more. There are shingles they cut through, Many scuffed up places. Some shingles too long so they bow up. Didn't replace flashing. It looks really bad and leaks worse. No responce from the company from our certified letter. We had added onto the house 22 years ago and it started leaking on those spots only during a spring thaw 2 years before we had Dakota Roofing reshingle. Now it leaks whenever we have a heavy rain or spring thaw. We had fixed the ceilings and did painting after the new roof. The leaking is much worse now and the ceilings are messed up again only worse. We have to have waste baskets all during the spring thaw and during some heavy downpours. We never know when it will leak. In the meantime we are making payments on a loan to pay for this. We have talked to other roofers and noone will touch it. They say that there are too many things wrong, and that if they did anything and we had further problems Dakota Roofing would say that it wasn't there fault. They have all said the whole roof should be redone. That Dakota Roofing should stand behind their work. They have suggested that we sue, or contact Holmes on homes or go to the media, contact the Better Business Bureau or you. You are my first choice if this doesn't help I will go further. I do have pictures and vidio of water running in.
